Tariq j Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Very possibly yes, unless of course it just happens to be a coincidence, albeit a very good one! Quote
Lynx Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 The new LEGO Club magazine is all about the Force Awakens sets. You can download it as PDF file from LEGO's homepage. The magazine has character descriptions but doesn't spoil anything obvious from the trailers. The only new information is minor (a name) relating to the thug minifigure. Quote
addemlit Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 What? Why? As someone said, for abusing their parts request system. They were all legitimate cases too. The last thing I remember asking for was a new sticker set for my Millennium Falcon. Quote
x105Black Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I was worried about getting accused of abuse myself, when a couple of sets were missing pieces within a month. No issues yet, but I dread having this happen. I'm very happy to hear that BB-8 fits in the Speeder. I have the Speeder, now I just need the droid! Quote
BrickCommander Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Oh dear lego quality control - another instruction error spotted, this time with the Falcon. 2x3 plate in the flap that holds the antena is shown in the wrong spot. It will be easy to spot though as if you follow the instructions the flap will be out of alignment with the others. Well spotted! :) Only the panels at the back are supposed to have a bit more height. This error has, in fact, been noticed, but the building instructions were delivered too late for final check to have errors fixed. I'm still kicking myself about the OTHER error though, but so far NO ONE seems to have spotted it or seems bothered, so maybe I'm a little too harsh with myself here. And no, I'm not going to tell what the error is! :p On the subject of "missing" bags: I can't help but think that if boxes were glued shut again (as they once were) instead of just "sealed" (taped) the number of such cases would drop significantly. That's just my theory though. Checking boxes for tampering you plan on buying from brick&mortar stores can never hurt. Quote
legolandia Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Their customer service banned me from ordering online anymore. I beg to differ Do you mean online on the Lego store or online everywhere? Quote
addemlit Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Do you mean online on the Lego store or online everywhere? Just the S@H website. Quote
Lynx Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 BrickCommander, if I remember correctly, you offered to talk about the new Force Awakens sets after their release. If that offer still stands, I'd love to hear anything you'd like to, and can, share. I'm particularly interested in the design challenge imposed by working with early concepts. Based on the multitude of colour schemes Kylo Ren's shuttle appears in toy form (white, grey, black with red glass - not to speak of its wing function and layout), I assume the design was overhauled multiple times. I won't ask specific questions and hope you'll just chat away. Quote
djmangunz Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 ^^^ Seconded. I would love to hear some insight regarding the design process, especially how difficult it was to create a product with only sketches as opposed to high rez pictures and physical models please! Quote

BJM Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I wonder how many days it will be before someone finds the 'second' error. No MF for me at this point - so will have to leave that for one of you lot... and yes BrickCommander, please do share any glimpses of the process you go though - in a site like this, your posts are really interesting and appreciated, thank you for taking the trouble. My first FA set is on route - Kylo's shuttle - and I am fairly happy and excited to mod it. Lego really is a great invention. Also, when thinking about colours, again, great that we can change things, and with the MF add touches of replacement panels in older 'stained' colours etc. Looking at some of the basic hasbro iterations - an MF in just one plane light grey colour looks rubbish. Nom Carver Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) Those were just my thoughts and speculations based on what can be seen on the sets, I haven't seen any spoilers either but I am pretty sure that at least two of those will be true (they seem quite obvious to me). Regarding to the sets, I am not too impressed, they all seem either oversized, overpriced or too similar to what we already have, the minifigs look interesting but if I could skip the CW hype I can do so with this, that doesn't mean that I wont enjoy this new saga or appreciate the design on the new models but they are not such a big deal to me. Hinckley Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Judging by what we can see on the current TFA sets, let my make some predictions regarding to the film: the millenium falcon is in the hands of thugs/smugglers/criminals and our heroes will have to steal it from them, thats why its so messy inside the new TIE (the special forces one) is some sort of prototype that will be reverse-engineered and is very important for the plot because it has been stolen the black x wing is going to be actually featured late in the movie and will be the product of reverse-engineering the TIE Rey's speeder is made with the former thruster of a pod racer Judging by the coloring of its arm (seems to be a trend on the first order), C3-PO may be in hands of the first order, and maybe Luke could be behind them (just like its father before him) These are just my thoughts and plot speculations based on what can be seen on the sets, thats why it doesn't need to be placed on a spoiler tags, I haven't seen any spoilers either but I am pretty sure that at least two of those will be true (they seem quite obvious to me). Thank you. That! And if you continue to post spoils about the movie, you'd better remember that the movie will be released on December 16th in France, two days before the rest of the world, and I might spoil the whole movie here, with loads of details, before it's out in your country!! Nom Carver Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Sorry guys, I thought it was related enough to the sets, afterall it was all based on the sets themselves . Quote

Koenta Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 In the Netherlands the TFA is also in the cinema on the 16th. If I remember it correctly it is the release date for the complete EU. Quote

legolandia Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Just the S@H website. That is a pointless step to take because you can still buy from other online retailers anyway. Quote

x105Black Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I am in the exact opposite situation: I bricklinked the beachball but I won't get the Speeder until Amazon discount. I had a 15% off coupon, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten anything. The sets are all a bit overpriced, if you ask me, but that's what you get when you're into Star Wars. Quote
NNOPMOC Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Just as a by-the-by. I'm about to return from a couple of weeks working in the UAE. Saw very little Lego while I've been here. No TFA sets at all, and those sets that I did see cost very nearly TWICE what they cost in the UK! I ordered four battle figures before I flew out and will be making Vader and Cody with my sons on Saturday (they both loved Greivous, which we built two weeks ago, and thought Obi Wan was pretty cool too). The 6 year old want's his own Vader Battle Figure for Xmas (he's not having mine!). I also bought the First Order TIE Fighter. Looking forward to building and displaying that alongside another TIE (9492). Quote
