General Magma Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 That has all been said before, and is on the front page as well Also Ezra's speeder doesn't have two stormies, it only has one and a short character. Ugnaught species? Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Okay, thank you. And did I miss something? And what is it precicely with that senate troopers set? That short character, could that be the alien of the 7 min preview? Yes you missed me seeing the retail catalouge and reporting on what I saw :) The senate troopers was a battle pack, that ( apparently) wasn't ready for release. Well he had a human head and Thors hair in black, but seeing as it is prelim it could be an uagnaught (which would be brilliant) Quote
arc Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Mr. hulk smash, do you know what pieces were used to make the bottom round part of the AAT? Just curious to hear how it's built. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 No offense, but man.....this is nonsense. -The T-16 won't be a UCS -No way it's $ 300 (or $ 200.....or $ 100) -With Hulk_Smash's posts in mind it's unlikely Beru will be included. He said a pilot (could be Biggs, a Tusken and a Womp rat are included. No Bantha (although I hope there is one included). This was a joke. I meant this as saying that this will be a desired set, so they would make it really expensive so no one can get it. I know it will really be, like, $30. Also, about the Stormtroopers, it is totally wierd what they do. To clarify what I said before: they put the generic, I-need-100-of-these-guys troops, in $100+ sets, while I got Royal Guards this year for $12. I have been collecting Star Wars since '11, and have bought about 90% of all of the sets released in that time, and I have 3 Stormies. 3. And this includes Ewok Village! It is just ridiculous. And someone mentioned earlier the Endor BP? That was one Stormie, and one special troop. Quote
Jdurg Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Ugnaught species? (pic snip) If they are including an Ugnaught, and we're getting a Bespin Guard in the UCS Slave I (A ship most famous from the Cloud City part of ESB), then I think it does mean that a new Cloud City set(s) is coming in the near future. This would be why they are producing Bespin Guards, Ugnaughts, and other characters from that part of ESB. Quote
d-delay Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Not to mention the new hair mold from the CMF Dino Hunter & Genie that looks suspiciously like it could be for a Bespin Leia . Reminds me of the Forest Maiden pre-Ewok Village. It is clever of them to use the CMF line to create molds for use in Star Wars UCS play sets that otherwise wouldnt get new molds, is it not? :) Edited September 6, 2014 by d-delay Quote

It looks nothing like Bespin Leia's braided hairstyle. Hopefully Lego will create a more accurate piece when they get round to revisiting Cloud City. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 At this point, I am pretty sure that Cloud City will be released, but I don't see how it can be done. Jabba's Palace style won't work because of the long antennae sticking out the bottom, and the weird angles would confine the interior to small, angled boxes. Death Star style would look bad, and would not function right. The only possible thing would be for them to release a line of Cloud City sets: Carbon-Freeze Chamber, Duel room, Dining Room, Prison cells, etc. And you know what? That is how it should be with other big scenes: an Order 66 line, a Jedi Temple line, a Jabba's Palace line (they kind of did that.....), an Echo Base line, etc. Quote

Just have a peek at this great review: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44199 Twelve years before the 2015 waves, they managed to create the excellent result with a mere 700 pieces. With today's pieces selection and building techniques at hand, they might very well achieve a great result without making the set too expensive. 2012's Jabba's Palace is a great set and very well can stand on it's own. I like it very much and own two of it. Counting the pieces it was too expensive, yes, but has a great number and selection of rare minifigs and special pieces in a rare colouring. It's main drawback is the separate Rancor's pit which was terribly overpriced (i speak for Europe of course) and offered too little (only the Rancor himself) for a high retail value. Spreading Cloud City over several sets and maybe even several waves would be the worst decision TLG might make, i think. I hope they will go the more obvious - and in regards of expected sales - more promising way. Quote
Bantha Fodder Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Spreading Cloud City over several sets and maybe even several waves would be the worst decision TLG might make, i think. I hope they will go the more obvious - and in regards of expected sales - more promising way. I have to disagree with you there. I think it's way better for both TLG and the fans/customers to release several Cloud City sets, in the same way they did Jabba's Palace / Rancor Pit. Heres why: - With several individual sets we would obviously get more detailed sets than with just one big Cloud City set. (even compared to a "UCS"-type Cloud-City set) - There would also be more min-figs total - The cost would be spread out over several sets, making it more economically acceptable for most byers. The cheaper sets sell better than the large UCS-sets. Still, most of the collectors would buy all the sets in the series anyway - so TLG would probably sell more to both die-hard collectors and to the regular customers. Personally I would love several Bespin sets that could be connected, in the same way as Jabba's Palace / Rancor Pit or the modular Creator City sets. Lets just hope TLG deos a better job at designing the connections than they did with Jabba's Palace / Rancor Pit. Edited September 6, 2014 by Bantha Fodder Quote
d-delay Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Damn you Wesker, you're dead right! Not sure why I thought Bespin when I saw that hairpiece. Thanks for the correction - this is not the mold we're looking for. Quote
Something_Awesome Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I agree with Bantha Fodder. Connecting sets may be something Lego is trying to do more regularly now. Look at the phantom and ghost. Also, while they don't exactly connect, there is no way you can get Jabba's barge and not consider getting a desert skiff! Quote
Venkefedo Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) I'd rather see multiple Cloud City sets... It makes some amount of sense to do the carbon freeze chamber separate from the other areas Luke & Vader fight. Trying to combine them into one set would make the whole design suffer, but modularly building different scenes would allow more variety; the trick is to have enough playability in each set to balance the lack of swooshable vehicles (aside from a Cloud Car set, of course) ...but this should probably be discussed in the Future Sets thread, since there are zero rumors of Cloud City next year. We're just predicting based on this year's Slave I. Edited September 6, 2014 by Venkefedo Quote
Galactic13 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I don't get why people are so upset about the ITT. We all know Lego will make battle packs for its sub-themes in Star Wars, so why would people not think that Lego would do the same with Rebels? Quote

I think the main problem that most people have is with the minifigures. The new Stormtrooper mould looked slightly bad on the figure. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) ^It isn't a battle pack, is it? I thought that it was similar to the Imperial Landing Craft, which is a larger set. Was Hulk_Smash, when comparing the design, referring to the Imperial Dropship from a few years back? That would make more sense...... Edited September 6, 2014 by LN-01354 Quote

Was Hulk_Smash, when comparing the design, referring to the Imperial Dropship from a few years back? That would make more sense...... It's a good point you've brought up. The original list never stated as a BP. And it's possible that it is a larger set. But on the other hand it does contain four Stormtroopers. And the most obvious thought that springs to mind is a BP. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 ^The Imperial Landing Craft only came with five. And that would be a lot cooler, since it is reminiscent of the Imperial Shuttle (I wish I could still buy one....). A BP would be......underwhelming. Especially with Rebels Stormies. Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 The Imperial Troop Transport is a battle pack and comes with four Stormtroopers. Quote
rexusprime Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Is it confirmed that ITT is rebels? And how? Quote
namioik Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Is it confirmed that ITT is rebels? And how? We are definitely going in circles with this set... It was stated from Jedi news that the ITT was a rebel set. Although not confirmed, their news source has been reliable for the past couple of years Quote
ArrowBricks Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Hulk_Smash do you know what minifigures came in the Tie Advanced Prototype, apart from the Inquisitor? Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I don't even know if it is the inquisitor, just guessing because one had a double bladed lightsaber, but I couldn't really see the other two, it was a very small bit at the bottom showing the box, not with the actual set like the others were. Quote
ArrowBricks Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I'm guessing it is the Inquisitor with the double bladed lightsaber because he has that in the show. Guess we will have to wait and see on the other two, thanks anyway for the information Hulk_Smash! Quote
