Yeah, this would actually be a really good opportunity to reuse the new Vader helmet right away, because of that scene where he kind of uselessly walks through the base and fails to stop the Millennium Falcon.

I sort of hope they make an area where we can recreate the scene where a Wampa goes on a Wampage through the base, it was removed from the movie, but I hope they add it to the set.

if you look on the video it does have the 'wampa warning sticker' on the wall!

Perhaps it is worth saving up for it after all, although if I get to that amount I may just buy the Death Star, but maybe that set will get discontinued with the release of the new Echo Base, who knows?

My favorite set of the wave was the First Order Transporter, do you have any stories about its development?

Erm ... no, there are no interesting stories about the transport, sorry :p

Is there anything you would like to know about, say, the Millennium Falcon?

Thanks for the background BC! I find that sort of information fascinating. My background isn't in graphic design, so forgive my ignorance, after initial sketches of a new set do you start off with a computer generated build or a physical one? And will you be working on the Star Wars Rogue One sets? Thanks again for sharing!

I almost always start building in LEGO Digital Designer and go through several iterations before finally building a copy with physical bricks. Depending on the size of the set, this saves me many days or even weeks in development time. From that point on, I always keep the LDD version updated in order to quickly try out new ideas or calculate a price.

Currently I am working on all the new material we get from Lucasfilm.

Good idea! BTW when was the last time the internal version of LDD got updated?

They haven't updated in ages, I'm sick of it.. but we've got a thread in the LDD bit of EB for us waiting!

How much did the Falcon change from the previous one (other than the obvious, like the dish) and why did you make the changes?

Also, I saw a recent article where one of the lead Hasbro people said all their stuff that's been released so far is just from the first third of the film. Was Lego under a similar restriction for the first wave of sets?

Yet to see a source from a company saying it's a gun. Hasbro also calls it an antenna and the rear seat turret is under the hull.

That's interesting and just might be the case. I just assumed it was a gun the rear pilot/gunner controlled.

And that doesnt mean I cant still turn it into a gun ;)

And if it doesn't happen..?

Then people will probably be mad at me. Remember I was told that Oct. 1, and if what I was told is wrong, I'm so sorry. We'll see tomorrow.

I've got the pitchforks and torches ready!

Only joking  Some hope is always nice, even if it turns out false!

I think if that is true, they already announced it by now, its already oct.1 10 hours ago at new zealand

I'm kind of hoping it doesn't get revealed today and if it does that it's not something I'd like to buy. I don't think my wallet can take another expensive set, not after the force awakens wave and my impulse buy of the UCS slave 1 yesterday.

I have a question about the Millenium Falcon. Has Lego ever thought of including lights into it perhaps to light up the hyperdrive.

When you say you are working on all the new material you get from Lucasfilm would that currently be Rebels, Rouge one and prelims for Episode VIII ( I know you probably can't answer them nut if you don't ask you never know!)?

These things usually happen around noon in the States, cut the guy some slack.

If we don't hear anything by 5-6 PM EST, that's when I'd be worried. Be patient, use the force. :)

@BrickCommander The new Falcon set aggravates my main gripe with the model even further: Color correctness; it's even darker than the predecessor while the real model is almost white.. Has the idea of doing the thing in white with light grey patches ever been thrown about?

I wouldn't worry just yet, people! In the Chicago, USA, at least, it's only early-mid morning. Granted, the USA does not (or should not) control the world, but I guess what I'm saying is that I still trust amazingbricks. If it's false, it's false...but somehow I'm still optimistic. :classic:
