lomis Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) Picked up Poe's X-Wing yesterday - wow this thing is big! Heavier than I thought. Only complaint is that the engine thruster things in the back tend to fall out because they can't be pushed in all the way. Yeah, the way the thrusters are attached is not done as well as I'd like. For me - my box had clearly been opened and resealed at the factory. My guess is that they replaced the windshield because of all of the issues they've had. The only problem is that they mashed the sticker sheet in the process - making them either stuck to the inside of the box or less sticky because the backs were exposed to air. So, I had to call customer support to have them send out a new one. Why the sticker sheets aren't better packaged is beyond me. This is the second Star Wars set I've purchased that had this sort of issue. Edited October 25, 2015 by lomis Quote

This is the second Star Wars set I've purchased that had this sort of issue. Exactly the same problem I had. My one was creased and one of the stickers had partially come off. Normally Lego is good with that sort of stuff as in bigger sets they use the cardboard sheet to secure the sticker sheet and manuals. Quote
rollermonkey Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 To be fair, we're going to get a battlepack for TFA. More than likely, that pack is going to include some Stormtroopers and possibly a Flametrooper as well (and maybe a First Order Crew member, if they feel like it). So, if that's the case, the only way to get a Snowtrooper from TFA is if you purchase the FO Snowspeeder. But for $40 you only get three of them, so a microfighter is actually a good, inexpensive, way to get one/more. (Especially cause I, personally, hate that $40 set ) You say that now, but if it turns out that BP has any more snowtroopers, we will all be howling that the microfighter should have had a standard trooper. ...and it would be just like TLG to make the standard ones a PITA to lay hands on in quantity. How many years were people begging for a 4-trooper BP before they finally gave us the Rebels version? Quote
Artanis I Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Well there's not really anyone who could be in a Ghost Microfighter that would make you want to buy multiple. At least Hera is an alien species which makes her more desirable. Plus Hera is only available in the full-sized Ghost until now, and that set has been available for over a year. You say that now, but if it turns out that BP has any more snowtroopers, we will all be howling that the microfighter should have had a standard trooper. ...and it would be just like TLG to make the standard ones a PITA to lay hands on in quantity. How many years were people begging for a 4-trooper BP before they finally gave us the Rebels version? Also, I have a billion TIE pilots from OT, yet very few storm troopers. (I have enough of both from Rebels without hitting BL or parting out sets.) So these new ones, people are concerned that there aren't any cheaply available TIE pilots, and who wants more snow troopers (that are available in a smallish set) in a microfighter? It's like getting those orange bomb squad guys instead of more useful plain white clones. Cheap stormies, people! Can't go wrong! Quote
lowlead Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) That black Kylo Ren's Shuttle looks a million times better and more sinister than the DBG version. Agreed - looks fantastic! These photos might be better served by their own thread in the MOC section, no? Thinking they'll eventually be lost in the sea of pages in the 2015 topic. Either way, I'm glad to see more exposure of this intriguing ship. Based on the better glimpse at the windscreen in the newest trailer, I tried modifying Kylo's Shuttle to resemble the final version. Not sure it works but I want to keep trying. ...From what we've seen in the non-Lego toys, the windscreen seems more angular along the top and distinctively red. Makes the craft more badass, IMO. Great mod, darththeling, looking much better. Geez, all these ideas make me want to start a black UCS styled MOC of this thing...need...so many...black...parts Edited October 26, 2015 by lowlead Quote

Kman860 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I don't know why lego screwed up so much on this and a couple other TFA sets...well I know why, but you'd think they would have waited until better information was available, they had these ready in January remember (no official releases, but sources confirmed they had seen them then) Quote
HawkLord Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 No one had time to wait. Disney wanted these out for the super secret "Force Friday" release, which means Lego needed the sets produced months in advance of that to make it to distributors. Everyone got the Kylo Shuttle wrong, not just Lego. Fortunately, Lego is the only company that can fix there's. But, Star Wars stuff will always sell, so no one will really feel the effects of the error. Quote
lowlead Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I was looking at the reduced SW toys in Sainsburys and spotted a Kylo Ren shuttle in brilliant white! Everyone has missed the mark on this one. The next blue snaggletooth?? They'll all pop up on ebay in short order, I'm sure... Quote
Vectormatic Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Fortunately, Lego is the only company that can fix there's. Makes me wonder if it would be a good idea business wise to sell "upgrade kits" to fix sets like these. Its not a real problem like with wall-e, but they could put out revised instructions and a small pack of needed parts for those not wanting to experiment/part-scrounge their own Quote

Venkefedo Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 It'll never be Poe. He's the only named character unique to the X-wing, which will still be on shelves for many months more. A microfighter would hamstring sales of the full-size vehicle - so many parents would then just buy the kid the little microfighter with Poe to get the kid to shut up rather than shell out for the big X-wing as a gift. Poe certainly will pop up in more sets in the future, but I doubt we'll see any major TFA leads in Microfighters anytime soon. They wouldn't even put the damn Inquisitor in the TIE Prototype, when he's only in a $40 kit, a one-season character, and will have milked his appeal for a full year by then. You misunderstand; I wasn't suggesting that the same Poe from the big set could appear here... I was suggesting a new Poe, the one from the beginning of the film wearing the jacket that Finn later acquires. That's the one who has the blue & white helmet, according to the various toys we've seen (and we know Poe's on or heading to Jakku at the start of the film, since the epilogue from "Moving Target" mentions it). Unless they do a Finalizer set (from when he's captured) or a Raid set from the opening (all can be gleaned from the trailers & Behind The Scenes video), there's really nowhere logical to place a "non-pilot outfit Poe" figure...but a Microfighter would fit the bill nicely. Poe will only show up in future sets if Kylo Ren isn't killing him in the trailer. He isn't; that's from when Poe's captured, it would seem, near the start of the film; we know he gets away and shows up later from all the other X-wing shots with him, and him clapping Finn on the shoulder, etc. We can also guess he's in the crashing TIE with Finn because Finn winds up with his jacket somehow, after the crash. Regimus Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) I really, really want a battle pack of storm troopers that are nearly the same as the OT ones in the ISD and Slave I, but they have smears all over the armour. There is nothing I want more. An army of troops with exactly the same battle damage would be ideal. Please do this, LEGO. It is without a doubt what every fan / army builder wants. Also throw in a figure that there would only ever be one of for every 1000 storm troopers, such as an officer. What we really want is for 25% of our army to be officers. I hope someone important reads this. /s Edited October 28, 2015 by Regimus Quote
Fire spray 31 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 That is a bit sarcastically harsh. Lego wants to make toys for children not make every grown man have their imaginary lego armies dream fulfilled. It is nice to get some variation in their storm trooper designs. Quote

Also, I don't understand the hate for the battle damage. Since when was armour of proper warriors ever sparkling clean without a scratch due to previous combat? I think people are overreacting about it to be honest... Quote
Kman860 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I think battle damaged is ok once in a while, as long as we get a regular stormie pack next year, or later this year Quote

Since when was armour of proper warriors ever sparkling clean without a scratch due to previous combat? I think people are overreacting about it to be honest... I think people would've been a lot happier if there was only one battle-damaged one (and one clean one) in the set... the current clean stormies are restricted to mostly expensive sets, and while in BATTLE they may get scuffed up, in formation greeting the arrival of the Emperor they should be sparkling. The BP isn't so bad if you've already bought a dozen 75055 and 75060, or cleaned out your local Lego Store or Target of 2015 Advent Calendars, but if not? Kind of a bummer not to be able to get a cheap clean one. Clean stormtroopers shouldn't be "incentive" inclusions in high-priced sets...no army-builder should. And not everyone likes the frowny-face Rebels stormies. Quote

ChiefPie Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 So I have the toys r us Christmas catalog and it says that you get the TFA c3po with a $40 purchase. Does that mean I can't buy it by itself? Quote
HawkLord Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 If you happen to find a TRU that will accidently sell them to you individually or put them on a display endcap or something, probably not. I was lucky enough to find a cashier that didn't know the Marvel Rocket Polybag was a promo and they sold me four copies. Quote
