Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I really wish the picture of Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter was clearer. For the price, it's one of the larger sets of this wave but all we got is a small pic of the box. Also, I know this is a prelim picture but wasn't the Rebels Stormtrooper helmet only going to be used on the box of Rebels sets? It is a prelim though so I'm expecting some changes. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Hmmmmm.....the ITT is a must. When it was announced I hoped it would be the same as the Kenner toy. When I heard it was a Battlepack I was a bit disappointed (because it meant it was smaller than I'd hoped) but it looks ok to me (better than I'd expected!) The 2 others sets I was interested in are the Skyhopper and Ezra's speeder. Looking at the pix my interest in the speeder is gone.....and I had really hoped a Bantha was included with the Skyhopper. Still, € 30 for the Skyhopper seems a good price, plus it has a Tusken Raider (a fig I really want). A VERY cheap wave for me, which isn't bad because I can catch up on the sets I missed out on and some sets of this summers wave I want (AT-AT and the Star Destroyer) Quote
Just The Doctor Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 The ot sets look great! I'm looking forward to stormtroopers, especially in the shadow set. Geonosis troopers... What the hell is that? Everything needs to change. It should be orange/brown p1 clones and arfs, not red and green p2 and scouts... And a minigun on an at-rt... I think anakins custom starfighter is definitely the azure angel now. Overall i like these sets, I just hate the firing blasters in the bps Quote
TK924 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Would the T-16 Skyhopper come with a Luke mini-fig or at least a pilot of some sort? I only see the Tusken. I like the ITT as well. May have to get more than one. Quote
Spyderlord Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Well those images took the shadow troopers and the ITT from "might get one of each... maybe.." to "will be buying as many as my bank account can handle" Wow. With few IFs this would reflect my thoughts on the wave... The main IF is ofc stormies. If they don't f**k up with giving us this Rebel abominations, I'd take as much as my bank account can handle. I was profoundly uninterested in Shadow troopers (what are those things?!?! My Zahn is little rusty, I don't remember hearing about them...), but when I saw the pic I whistled... Black Imperials + something stormie-like, game on. what are the geonosis troopers based on? they look like they are made up by Lego. the aat is certainly disappointing. I might be building a Geonosis diorama, so this caught my attention, but despite being a devotee of both PT and CW (more CW actually...) I don't remeber seeing red clones on Geonosis... One by one: T-16 Skyhopper: I like the octagonal flaps, clever way to make that difficult shape work. I'm hoping that they don't think that that rat counts as a two meter Womp rat. Unless it's a SW:tOR era Womp Rat, in which case it's actually about right. Also, new Tusken Raider! The only interesting thing is actually the Tusken, as in: Great that it appears in a cheap set (I'm proufoundly uninterested in) so its price will drop on Bricklink... Hailfire Droid: Too small for very many thoughts. I do think that this will be one case where the new missiles fit the model, though. Hmm, I can't see a thing, but I would need a Hailfire droid for aforementioned Geonosis diorama, so I'll reserve my judgement until I see the looks of it. Imperial Troop Transport: Definitely one to stock up on. It looks like LEGO finally decided to give us a good army builder. Now, if they only had guns, they'd be perfect. With the functional but media inaccurate stud-shooters... I can only pray you are right. Not too sound pessimistic though, I know TLG a little too good after all these years, they never fail to f-up something with outstanding potential, so, patience, plenty of time to massacre this one... Tie Advanced Prototype: Very, very...round. Not a bad build, just...round. Oh, well, it's a prelim. But I already have the old Tie-advanced, so pass for me. On the other hand, I really don't understand what kind of meteor needs to hit near Billund for TLG to wake up and realize that community has been screaming for a decent Tie-interceptor or bomber for almost a decade now (who still remembers the blue thingies?) Wookie Gunship: Cool! We get to see all the defenses that the Wookies clearly had at the time of the movie! Remind me, again, how exactly did the Empire enslave thousands of them? Haha, spot on Vulture Droid: You do realize, LEGO and Disney, that kids do realize that the droids are sentiment by themselves, and don't need a pilot? Amen to that, but oh well, another clanker for the army in <10$ set, who cares... And btw, I DO have a big need for a Vulture of that scale, so all of the sudden I feel like I have saved 29$ for not having to buy the 2014 Vulture that I set my eyes on (well, ok, I might steel bricklink the cute Neimodian) A VERY cheap wave for me, which isn't bad because I can catch up on the sets I missed out on and some sets of this summers wave I want (AT-AT and the Star Destroyer) Hm, funny. I was among the biggest complainers on this forum when 2014 winter wave was in this phase (and after the officials also), but this can be a VERY expensive wave for me providing TLG delivers on ITT (but I know they won't anyway, so...) Potentially there's Vulture, ITT, Shadow Troopers, Hailfire, Geonosians I didn't even expect that I'd be this surprised when I first saw the list... Quote
NovaSentinel Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Anyone notice the new bent gun arms on the battle droids? Also, £50 is steep for the Starfighter, makes me think there maybe a little more to it than just the ship. Quote
LegoFjotten Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Crossing my fingers we will get OT style stormies, but I fear the worst... The Shadow troopers looks cool. Yay for a new Tusken! Apart from that nothing really stands out to me, the minifigures will likely decide what I will get. Will be interesting to see final pictures. Quote
Flieger Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Who said the Geonosis troopers are based are based on anything canon? Besides being prelims, i.e perhaps just placeholders, they could be Lego's invention like these gentlemen. Of course, I still hope the Geonosis battle pack figures change to the TCW ARF troopers. Quote
michaelozzie Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I see the tusken gets a new Gaderffii stick. I'm wondering with the ITT battlepack if we can ID the background scenery. If it's from the Rebels show then they are from that, if not then they might well be OT? Quote
rollermonkey Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) They sure look different to me: http://www.bricklink.com/ml/sw585.jpg http://www.bricklink.com/ml/sw578.jpg (Photos from Brickset.com) I can see that they aren't exactly the same, but the difference is not so drastic that I'd rip my hair out over it... I'm guessing the one on the right is Rebels... Doesn't look sad to me. Looks like a scowl. Edited September 10, 2014 by Brickdoctor Please don't quote images. Tom Jurassic Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Wait! Are we still seeing the Senate Guard Pack then????? Quote
just2good Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Wait! Are we still seeing the Senate Guard Pack then????? Well, Hulk_Smash said it was in the catalog but that it was cancelled... These are catalog pics. Quote
Nom Carver Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I can only see the pic with the T-16, can someone post a link to the other images (if it's allowed ofcourse) Quote
Cyberbricker Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 NOOOO!!! How could they screw up the AAT so mush... Quote
ArrowBricks Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I cannot see the pictures? Can somebody help me. Cheers! Quote

ArrowBricks Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 rexusprime thanks buddy! thoughts will be coming up... Quote
Chills Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Oh, forgot to mention my excitement for the T-16! I'm always partial to Tatooine sets, and this one looks like a really big improvement over the original set. Hopefully the womp rat will be decent-sized. And I hope there are more than 1 Tusken Raiders included. Quote
Tariq j Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Thanks for the link, From what I can make out it's great to finally see more of the Custom Starfighter - looking forward to see more on that set. The battle packs look great and I'm certainly getting some of those. These are preliminary so we can excpect changes. But from what I can see so far - Great wave TLG Quote
Zzz Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I love the T-16, I believe there is one Tusken, one pilot and a new rat included, the price seems alright. For the Stormtrooper BP I believe it's going to be rebels (as it's the same model that Hasbro uses for Rebels). Somehow I even hope it is, as the money goes into Slave I in January. The Shadow Troopers look nice already, a good little addition without the urge to army build. The chibi sets look nice, expecially the Snowspeeder and the AT-AT, but I might also get the LAAT/i, as I have a soft spot for them. A huge surprise is Anakins custom Delta, it clearly has the huge engine intakes and the blue color of the old CW mini series. Great ship, nice to have it but seems expensive to me. The Rebels I don't need, though. Not a huge fan. Quote
Cyberbricker Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) It looks like the clone trooper in the hailfire droid has a different helmet printing... Maybe an epII clone gunner??? Edited September 10, 2014 by Cyberbricker Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Yay, prelims! Let's see. That AAT is puny. They're really using that new six-stud shooter. AT-AT Microfighter is probably the best of the bunch. Other than that, not that impressive of a wave. -Sci Quote
TheBrickPal Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) So I've seen the preliminary pictures, and the sets look very bland. I don't normally buy Star Wars sets (I haven't gotten any in years), but I'm not going to get these at all. The only good one seems to be the T-16, and MAYBE some of the Microfighters. Hopefully, the summer wave looks better. Edited September 10, 2014 by Puffle Pal26 Quote
Tariq j Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Two things I forgot to mention. Is it me or does the AAT look rather small. Not that this is a bad thing just curious. Secondly, the senate commandos set is pictured there does that mean it's going to be sold or is it cancelled? Quote
