rollermonkey Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Thanks! Looks like Vader is out and all Winter wave boxes will have stormtrooper art. Rebels? OT? Seriously, I cannot see why this is such an issue for some. It's a stormtrooper, and clearly not anything else. The Imperial army must have made some minor modifications to the armor in the years between. Maybe a different contractor got the bid when the previous source raised prices as a quiet political protest... Maybe the troopers in OT have new gear they are unfamiliar with, and that's why they are such poor marksmen? ;) I thought the consensus was that Anakin's Custom being the blue one was least likely? Chibi ATAT is too awesome. I wonder if it plays fetch and will let me pet it? Snowspeeder looks ok... The rest of the microfighters do nothing for me. T-16 exists... But getting a Tusken will be nice. TIE Advanced must be a very early prototype, it looks way too small to be in scale with the most recent standard tie. Shadow Trooper looks like a no-brainer purchase. ITT looks like a LEGO/Chibi version of the Kenner toy... Who cares? 4 Stormies in one set! I never watched TCW, so to me, all those vehicles blend in with the PT stuff. As it stands, to me, it looks like a nice balance of sets between the different series. The AAT looks like it's using the same 'new' (I don't have any yet) big quarter-rounds as the Slave I, but in tan. Those will be nice for Tattooine MOCs. Brickdoctor Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Thanks, aayla-secura and rexusprime! That AT-DP! It looks beautiful from what we can see. The ARC-170 and LAAT/i, for whatever reason, I find to be really cute. Not going to buy them, but they look great. Can't really see too much of the BPs, but that Imperial Troop Transport... I can't decide whether I'm amused or horrified. But we don't buy the BPs for the vehicles, so not too much harm done, I think. On the other hand, the AAT: that thing is tiny! It looks a lot more curved and organic than the last one, I guess, but the proportions just look bad. The base especially looks too small compared to the body, and too thick considering its width. TLG are probably following Hasbro with the packaging. Next years packaging for rebels and OT will be in Rebels style boxes. It's just the rebels ones will say Rebels underneath the Stormtrooper helmet. There is a video from SDCC where the Hasbro guys are interviewed and they state this. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Thank you very much for all the information, Hulk_Smash, and the links to the prelim pics, aayla-secura and rexusprime! T-16 Skyhopper The fighter looks good. Nice that we'll get a Tusken Raider in this set, too. Only a pity that you can't see how the pilot looks like. Imperial Troop Transport On the one hand I'd really have prefered to get a pilot instead of a fourth Stormie. And would have prefered to pay 30 Euros for the set but then get a decent sized vehicle with real cockpit and 6 seats (instead of 4). On the other hand TLG did the best in designing the vehicle the way that it can be sold at the prize of a BP and at the same time look the most realistic as possible, too. The only thing I hate are the shooters since I want regular guns. I don't like it that we very supposably will get Rebels Stormies in this set - but I will use them as regular ones since there aren't that huge differences. As it already was stated, the possibilties of a Cloud City are in 2015 better than never before. Foreshadows could be new Boba, new CC Han and the new Bespin Guard in the UCS Slave 1. And the fact that we'll only get one OT set in the winter wave - remember 2008 (the year when the 10188 DS playset was released) when there had been only one OT set in January, too. It may be how it is, but I personally would really like to get a CC - it's simply overdue! But hopefully it will be in the size of 10188 to offer us the many minifigures and big and detailed locations we want. Klaus-Dieter Edited September 10, 2014 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
ArrowBricks Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 My thoughts on the preliminary pictures... Imperial Troop Transport: Looks nice, and also will be a good army builder even though some will be annoyed the troopers are the Rebels version. Shadow Troopers: Only like this one because of the never seen before minifigures in lego version. Geonosis Troopers: Always been a fan of these troopers and will definitely pick this up! Good at-rt as well. Aat: Looks small but i guess a cheap way to get an Aat which is decent. Its good that it's the episode 1 version. T-16 Skyhopper: A ship that isn't really seen in the movies. However if it has a good design and nice minifigures I may think about this one. Hailfire Droid: Cheaper than the Aat and that looks small! It better be a good design! The one interesting thing is the Clone Trooper minifigure as it seems new. Probably get this anyway as its cheap to get. Senate Commandos: Not really bothered about this being cancelled as I don't really need these troopers. Ezras Speeder Bike: This is probably one i can't judge at all as it looks very preliminary. Hopefully it includes the new imperial pilot because i like them! Looks like Ezra and Kanan included... Anakins Jedi Custom Starfighter: Cant see much of this so hopefully it will be good. Looks quite pricey though so i'm not sure on this one. Tie Advanced Prototype: Looks nice and hopefully includes the Inquisitor minifigure AT-Dp: Really like this one because it looks big and interesting . I guess it will come with some important imperial figures so that's always good. Wookie Gunship: Nothing new I cant see the Microfighters but to be honest I don't really like them Quote
CF Mitch Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Thanks for the pics, people! I really hope the Stormtroopers in the ITT remain OT, and won't actually turn out to be Rebels. Though I'd like the updated versions (from this year's Imperial Star Destroyer), yes. The ones depicted here are definitely older Not too thrilled about the Geonosis troopers... I don't really get what's going on there, yet. They seem to have grey and dark red printing? Shadow Troopers look really cool. Think I'll definitely buy one of that. Senate Commandos might be cool too, though the picture showed a completely different type of troopers so I can't form an opinion yet. The same goes for the rest, if you ask me. Regards, Mitch I'll hold off my opinion until better pictures arrive Quote
ArrowBricks Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I got a bit carried away with my thoughts on prelims I will leave my thoughts until we get official pictures I am surprised about some of the prices of these sets though! Quote
will Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Well this will be a very cheap wave for me. I'll probably just pick up the new tusken minifig. The micro AT-AT looks a bit odd, but again I may pick some of those depending on the minifigs. Still need to pick up a couple of OT sets from the latest wave, so that will keep me going. Quote
Slurpifier Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Seems a below average wave to me. Going to pick up the Shadow Trooper Battlepack, the T-16 Skyhopper and the Microfighter's AT-AT. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Love the sets but the senate commando one would have really fit in with my collection. We're saying it's been 'cancelled' but if our 'source' is a catalogue (that features the set) am I missing somthing? Surely Lego would include a replacement set to the wave, I can't believe all their profit modelling just allows for a set to be chucked - the sets per wave surely isn't a random number... Quote
ChiefPie Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 WOW almost all of those will take my money! The geonosis BP looks like theres a arf trooper but it's hard to tell. If it is I hope it's the TCW edition due to the helmet is better to me that the kashyyk one Quote
GeneralLego Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Is it just me or are the pictures of the microfighters and rebels sets gone? Can someone re-link to them? Quote
Galactic13 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Wow!!!!! Just saw these!!!!!! I love the Shadowtroopers set!!!!!!!! And the T-16 and AT-DP look amazing as well!!!!!!!!!!! But I am disappointed with the AAT. It looks like that will be a $29-$39 set where as the CW one was bigger. But maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Other than that, WOW!!!!! Quote

Flieger Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 But I am disappointed with the AAT. It looks like that will be a $29-$39 set where as the CW one was bigger. The German price tag reads 29,99 EUR, so it is a small set. It is the usual Lego store price for a set of some 200 pieces. You know, think of the latest V-Wing or Vulture Droid; and think smaller than the current Snow Speeder. I don't know what people expected from this, but certainly not a large set. Can you tell me where you saw the AT-DP picture? The links on the last page are still active. Quote
hollisbrick Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Just. That feel. When prelims get released. And that Shadow Guard battle pack. Gonna need a moment... Quote

GeneralLego Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the link DP. My opinions: MICROFIGHTERS- Not really any of them appeal to me. I might grab the Snowspeeder and AT-AT. The Gunship looks downright awful though. REBELS- Very nice looking sets. The AT-DP is flawless. I also the Inquisitor's ship. Shame that the Anankin's Starfighter pic is too blurry to see. MOVIE SETS- Worth the 11 year wait for that T-16. Looks very nice. I like the solution for the windscreen. I first thought the AAT was a battlepack vehicle, but I guess it's a full-scale set. Crummy minifigure selection on that one. Amazing Shadowtroopers though. Conclusion: Save $$ for the Slave 1, spend any leftovers on the AT-DP and T-16. Edited September 10, 2014 by GeneralLego Quote
Ceroknight Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I can't describe these sets except that that they all look...cute I can't wait for both Imperial BPs! Quote

irispen Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Wow, we have the pictures but it still doesnt say if they will give us an OT or Rebel stormies. Haha ATDP is a must imo. Quote

Archer Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I'd like to point out how different the Wookiee Gunship looks in these prelim pic vs its actual press release. Here's hoping some of these look better when finished. Quote
