Forget about the Winter Wave, I need to know what we will be getting for Summer 2015. No doubt, it will be a heavily Rebels wave, and I know there will be no Episode VII sets, but what will it be? I still think that 2015 will be fairly cheap, but I am still curious. When do we get those leaks? Around March, right?

Actually I believe Episode VII is scheduled for December 2015, which means either the mid-year wave will be delayed to accommodate EVII sets coming out a bit closer to the release date or we will get three waves next year (early year, mid-year and end of year EVII sets).

There is no way Lego would pass up the opportunity to release a big wave of Episode 7 sets alongside the movie. More than likely the winter wave will just be released a little earlier than normal.

Wouldn't be too entirely surprised if the Summer wave includes more prominent ships and characters from the trailers that one could assume would be out then. Then as for the Winter wave it would include more secretive characters and less prominent ships from the trailers (Or missing at all) that play a larger role in the film itself. However I would guess that the Summer wave would be released in June or July rather than August such that the Winter sets are released November or Decemeber respectively.

if GotG is anything to go by sets will be out far in advance of the films. I'd guess that a Ep VII heavy wave will hit about a month and a half before the film and a handful of OT sets that "cross over" in the summer preceding it.

The more I think about it, the more I think that they will push up the 2016 wave. It would make the most sense.....

Also, just thought I's share this: he’s shooting on film and actually building the sets, so you’ve got hundreds of Stormtroopers or whatever, That was a quote from one of the main cast (forgot who). He just basically confirmed Stormies and the Empire returning.

The tie-in for TLG with Star Wars Episode VII brings up something I wonder about:

Over the past two years we've seen a delay for SW sets between Europe and the U.S.

Let's say there are no Episode VII sets in the Summer 2015 wave but there will be one or more sets in the Winter 2015 wave to coincide with the movie's release in December 2015.

If so, when will the Winter wave be released in the U.S.?

I can't imagine a scenario where there weren't any Episode VII sets in stores before the movie's release.

I thought the empire and stormtroopers were confirmed a long time ago. Anyways, I was thinking either sets would be released in March and November or January, June, and November. If they go with the second option of mine, January = Mostly Rebels, June = Mostly existing saga, and November = Mostly new movies.

Oscar Isaac said this.

And did you say Stormtrooper?

interesting, black chromed elite guards, shiny or not that's a very intimidating appearance, one that's definitely high on my gotta have list (Lego form of course) can't have enough chromies

I'm betting the summer 2015 wave is almost a mini-wave or a wave with nothing spectacular. Then Lego makes a fall wave with Episode VII stuff.

You guys probably remember the prequels where you couldn't go into any retail/grocery/etc store and not find Star Wars stuff. I'm betting Lego couldn't afford to wait till 2016 to release Ep VII stuff.

I seriously don't get what are you fussing about guys. "Afford", the movie goes out 18 December, in case TLG wants to cash-in on the holiday season, they'll release the Winter wave 2016 in December. I can't see why we need the three waves years, fall releases and other exoticisms...

Quite frankly what they did for Rebels is ridiculous, release sets full three months before the show hits TV, with virtually zero publicity outside of hardcore circles. Remember 2008? TCW posters were in metros, billboards, everywhere... And yet even then I found silly that the sets were out a month before the movie hit the theaters.

To sum up, if TLG releases WW2016 in time for CHristmas season, they are completely shooting the summer wave 2015 in the leg in terms of sales. My bet is, they'll release the Winter wave 2016 on 18th December earliest. That way, most Christmas shopping would already be done. They wouldn't miss on a thing if they were to release it in January either, the main hype is anyway going to be in January, during school holidays etc...

You have to look at the environment outside of Legos. You gotta know Hasbro and a number of other toy companies will be gearing up Ep VII products by maybe Oct, Lego should not allow itself to be left out by banking on their usual winter wave in Dec.

Spyerlord, part of the hype up of films is the pre-merchandising if Lego is going to be involved with that (and I'm sure they will) there is no question that they will have the first wave of EP VII sets on shelves before November. Lego WILL be missing out on sales if they dont have something on the shelves for parents to pick up before the movie hits. I can't begin to speculate how the Waves will be adjusted to do this but i am certain that there will be EP VII sets for us by November of next year.
