wesker Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 The Hailfire Droid looks decent although still a bit small for my liking. The minifigure line up is horrible though. More brittle Super Battle Droids and a rehashed polybag Clone? Would've been better getting a new Jedi character, or even an updated one like Ki-Adi-Mundi without the anime face. The Jedi Starfighter and Ventress both look awesome. Still would be nice to have a non-anime modern version of her, but the microseries one is still good to have. Shame they're still using the same hairpiece for Anakin instead of taking advantage of Kanan's new mold. Quote
NovaSentinel Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 The Kanan piece is completely wrong for Padawan Anakin, the pony tail is far too long and far down. None of TLG'S current hairpieces really work for him but it could be worse than this one. The angel itself looks okay if a little long and narrow, but the hailfire droid looks pretty nice, and hello custom ARC troopers. Quote
AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Looking at both sets, what can I say, but can't wait for them to be released next year. Not a big fan on the printed wheels of the hailfire droid, but definitely less chance of stickers and pieces missing. Quote
strangely Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 The Hailfire droid would be fine if it came with a decent minifigure line-up, even a generic Jedi would have helped, but as things stand I don't need anymore clones or super battle droids. The Starfighter on the other hand is great. Plus the Ventress redesign looks pretty awesome. My only problem is that Anakin is a repeat. That hairpiece really needs to be replaced, really they just need to create a Padawan hairpiece in general. I understand they won't be able to do the braid for technical reasons, but they could still make a reasonably good hairpiece nonetheless. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I'm really looking forward to getting Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter. I really can't see it having the reported $49.99 USD MSRP. The Hailfire Droid looks interesting. Wonder what it would like with the tracks from the last version? Quote
Robianco Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 That Hailfire doesn't actually look too bad... The Ventress figure might be the reason for me to make my first non-OT set. Quote
slugdude Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Can't wait to get a better look at Anakin's starfighter. As an avid fan of Genndy Tartakovsky, I'm quite excited to see if Lego did his character designs justice. From what I can see of Ventress, It looks like they did. Can't wait to get a version of her that doesn't look horrible. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Azure Angel looks great, but still.....$50?! As for the Hailfire.......Lego, you evil genius. Now I need it for the Lieutenant! But those printed dishes aren't as bad as I thought......(I say, as I try to convince myself. ) Quote

scorchfire Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Yeah Azure angel!!! really surprised about that Asajj Ventress minifig, straight from the original clone wars series. The last micro fighter is great as well, that clone pilot is very movie accurate and well printed, gonna bricklink a bunch of those for my ships, the clone lieutenant is the saving grace from that set, gonna bricklink a bunch of those as well. Those printed dishes look good enough, but overall the build is pretty meh Quote
TheBrickPal Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Uh, what is Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighters supposed to even resemble? And why is Asajj Ventress there? It's not a The Clone Wars set because she and Anakin look different. Quote

It's supposed to ressemble Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighters :P (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Azure_Angel) It's from the 2003 clone war mini serie You should look it up it was really good in my opinion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Clone_Wars_%282003_TV_series%29 Quote
TheWolffe Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Ohh the pilot for the ARC-170 mini looks sweet. Love the new decal on the helmet, might have to pick up a few of these.. Quote
GuyDudeMan27 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I guess now we can all get hyped for this: The one weird thing is that it looks like he has light bley arms and legs, and the other ARC pilots have sand blue. Other than that, his helmet looks amazing. Quote
rollermonkey Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) When you guys said printed dishes for the hailfire droid wheels, my initial thought was one of worry, but I figured that I would wait until I saw them to decide. I'm now leaning towards them being awesome. The actual wheels (on the imaginary vehicle) would be pretty much impossible to create accurately with current technology, let alone with LEGO, but by using transparent dishes, they get around that limitation quite cleverly... And have trans dishes ever been made at that size? Are those 8x8 dishes, or maybe 10X10? They look huge, and if extras were obtained, I can imagine numerous uses for them in MOCs... Potentially with careful removal of the printing and some 30/60 slopes.... Edited October 19, 2014 by rollermonkey Quote

The Executive Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The new arc-170 helmet looks pretty badass. I think the Hailfire droid should have included a new figure to give people a better incentive to buy it. I think we all remember General Grievous Chase. The bike had printed wheels and yes it sucked, but it came with a new Grievous figure and Boga which balanced it out. This set just has nothing much to balance out the suckage. The treads just look so much nicer than the printed wheels( at least I hope their printed). If you like blue clones go ahead and pick it up, but I was expecting a little bit more. Quote
The Legonater Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Got to say, I'm really impressed with the Azure Angel. I'm liking how LEGO is pulling stuff out of left field lately, first Revan, now this... I hope they keep it up. Quote
Steph 104th Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The Azure angle is an amazing day one buy for me, my favourite Star Wars set of 2015. I think ill skip the halfire droid as I already have the polybag lieutenant. Quote
Slurpifier Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The question is; will we see more miniseries based sets? I really hope we do! Quote
scorchfire Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The question is; will we see more miniseries based sets? I really hope we do! What else would they do???? V 19 torrent is already a set, and those 2 were the only vehicles exclusive from the series, the other option is the Ventress star fighter, but seeing as she already appears as a minifig in the Azure angel I doubt they will make one Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The question is; will we see more miniseries based sets? I really hope we do! Doubtful. A striped Gunship with a team of ARCs might be nice, but pricey (and too soon after the last Gunship); a BP with 3 Blurr ARCs and Fordo would be better, there. I don't much fancy an armored Obi-Wan in a bike joust set with another black IG droid. I'd rather they tackle another area of the EU; something with Thrawn & Mara, or Kyle Katarn's Moldy Crow, or more KOTOR to go with Revan. If they're even allowed to do more of the non-canon stuff, that is. Tons more potential there than from the Microseries. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) Wow, love the Azure Angel! Liking the Hailfire Droid as well, but pretty annoyed that it's the same figure from the polybag set, which I went out of my way for to get it. I'll still get it. Artizan Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 are there any better resolution for asajj? i am definitely buying these, however there is one minor mistake TLG did, which is they didn't give Anakin a golden hand, remember his hand was cut by Dooku at the end of AOTC and was replaced by a cybernetic golden prosthesis. Quote
Aland1916 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I'm happy to see the blue clone and in such a nice set. Quote
