Tariq j Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Very good pictures. The Azure Angel is a definite buy for me. Quote
phanstasm Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) The Azure Angel looks really fun! I do like the build, but I personally would have tweaked the minifigure line up in both this set and the Hailfire Droid. [...] Ventress both look awesome. Still would be nice to have a non-anime modern version of her, [...] I agree. Guess I'll have to keep using the Spooky Girl head from the CMF line for now. I just hope that they finally produce Ventress' lightsabers in metalic silver, like other modern lightsabers. So far that part has only been made in light bluish gray. Also, I would have liked to have seen some variation in Anakin, and had the battle damaged outfit he wore in the final battle with Asajj (and the gold hand, as Artizan pointed out). I guess it's nice to get that Anakin for those that couldn't pick up the Republic Gunship. And as others have pointed out, the minifigure assortment in the Hailfire Droid could have been better. If they didn't want to do a specific Jedi for whatever reason, they could have done an updated version of "Jedi Bob" from the old Republic Gunship set. That would have been funny! Legomanarthur Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Wow, the Azure Angel will be a day one purchase for me! :D Quote
Big_Daddy Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Heh, good someone outbid me for a clone lieutenant polybag. Will be bricklinking this new version in a few months Quote
CF Mitch Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Thanks for the pictures! The Azure Angel looks great indeed, but I still don't think I'll be buying it. Same goes for the Hailfire Droid. The Clone Lieutenant looks great, but I do already have one, so.. We'll see Regards, Mitch Quote
Big_Daddy Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 By the way, Anakin's hairpiece is the same as he has in the latest Republic Gunship, as far as I can see. So no Kanan hairpiece. Quote
The-Nexu Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) I cant see so could someone tell me if the lieutenant is a phase i or phase ii version? If it is phase i I will get one to help my current clone destroy the tank droid because at the moment my battle of geonosis is verry one sided. Edited October 19, 2014 by The-Nexu Quote

The-Nexu Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) Now we are out of stuff to complain... I mean talk about. However, does anyone have a suggestion for a good head for Bigs Darckglider? I am considering modding the T-16 pilot. I figure that you could create quite a good race scene with two t-16s and some large lego rock formations for them to fly around. Edited October 19, 2014 by The-Nexu Quote
Robianco Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Bard the Bowman from the Hobbit range.. then just brasso off his sideburns and the bottom part of his goatee and it's a very good likeness. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) Such a disappointment that the Anakin we get(on the Azure Angel) is the padawan version Still it's a nice set, hope we get close up pics soon. Edited October 19, 2014 by LOTR343 Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Such a disappointment that the Anakin we get(on the Azure Angel) is the padawan version Still it's a nice set, hope we get close up pics soon. Padawan Anakin makes perfect sense with the Azure Angel, tho, as he wasn't yet a Knight when he flew it against Ventress... Unless you mean "regular" Padawan Anakin as opposed to "battle-damaged Microseries" Anakin. Others mentioned a gold hand... Easy enough to fix ourselves, but really it's Genndy's team that goofed, not Lego... Anakin probably shouldn't have been going into battle with a bare mechanical hand anyway. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I'd rather they tackle another area of the EU; something with Thrawn & Mara, or Kyle Katarn's Moldy Crow, or more KOTOR to go with Revan. If they're even allowed to do more of the non-canon stuff, that is. Tons more potential there than from the Microseries. So, you're saying that they should sell sets that kids will have no clue what they are? No kids are going to read Thrawn, and none of the ships or characters will get publicized in any way. If a kid walks into a store, and he sees a TIE Fighter, as seen in Rebels, he's buying that. He won't buy some obscure design that he has never heard of. Now, the argument would be "what about the Azure Angel?!" What about it? "Anakin Skywalker" being on the box, with a ship that looks like one from the only recently-defunct TCW, still holds appeal with kids. Face it, EU fans: Lego will not give you any of the things you asked for. Sales for TOR sets were never high, so why make even MORE obscure ones. And it's officially that time: Now we wait for SUMMER 2015 LEAKS!! Only 6 months away........ In the end, I'll be picking up Hailfire, AT-DP, Shadow Troops, Geo Troops, and T-16. $140 for that, plus $200 Slave I, and $180 of BIONICLE.......I'm in some serious trouble next year. Quote

Still; it was STAR WARS and I had to have them. Quote
scorchfire Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 are there any better resolution for asajj? i am definitely buying these, however there is one minor mistake TLG did, which is they didn't give Anakin a golden hand, remember his hand was cut by Dooku at the end of AOTC and was replaced by a cybernetic golden prosthesis. Totally forgot about that, yeah the gold hand was very prominent in the series, but it would be pretty easy now to replace it, as TLG has a knack to produce many golden minifig parts now Quote
Cyberbricker Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 lol, I sold quite a few of those Lieutenant polybags at inflated prices. I sold one for €175. I'm glad that they will release a clone trooper in a standerd set, not the cheap chinese plastic polybag version. Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Well.....back in the early 80's I had NO idea what the minirigs were.....those vehicles weren't in the movies and/or the comics. Still; it was STAR WARS and I had to have them. Yep, same here! Didn't matter that they weren't in the movies; I could imagine they were. Kids won't care that they done know to who Thrawn is; if the set is cool enough, they'll be just fine getting a blue guy in a white Imperial officer uniform, since they'd also be getting another Luke Skywalker or something with him. Better to tackle more diverse elements of SW than just keep cranking out clones and Battle Droids. And KOTOR is no older than the Microseries, and fans would flip over an HK-47 minifig Quote
BJM Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Azure Angel is another must for me with the AT DP. As well as being cool for the series - the fact is that the Angel just looks "hard as nails". I am a Brit, but this ship sure does look like an american muscle space ship and that is fine with me (bet it is rubbish going round corners though...). Quote
Darth Malgus Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 AA looks amazing, Ventress is a pretty cool minifig. The printed dish for the Halifire droid looks better than i thought although there is still something about it that doesn't look right overall... Quote
Just The Doctor Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) The azure angel looks great, shame that I already have the Anikan. I like the hailfire, but the printing seems too cartoony The arc 170 really should have had oddball, not whoever that clone is, they missed out on that opportunity. However, I'd Like to get them all! Edited October 19, 2014 by Just The Doctor Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 It's the same clone that Hasbro first made back in '05, which was pretty much just the concept art helmet deco... Took them forever to release an Oddball. Quote
GuyDudeMan27 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The arc 170 really should have had oddball, not whoever that clone is, they missed out on that opportunity. I'm not really worried about what clone, but more upset about the inconsistency. Suddenly, our arc pilots go from blue arms and legs to grey! Looks like I'll need to BL a pilot for my arc 170... Jacob_9821 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 While this has already been reported upon it is nice to get a confirmation I think. So on Friday my father went out to our local LEGO Store and picked up a Sea Cow and Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!!! to surprise me today. Anyway, the older manager at the LEGO Store told him a few things. 1) Possible early VIP release for Slave I. 2) May 2015 UCS is a TIE Fighter. Still no confirmation on the version, but he guessed the standard TIE. 3) UCS Millennium Falcon may be coming sooner than you think. Very vague about this, could honestly just be a way to quiet down people. If true I would expect it to release before Episode 7. But it's so vague, as said beforehand, I don't exactly trust it. All and all, I hope all 3 are true, really would love the Slave I on Christmas day. I'ld be convulsing in joy. Quote
Mr Meleca Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 If. I do remember well, the new Jedi fighter was shown in the Clone Wars, season 2, Tartakowsky in the direction, before ep. II. when Anakin defeatsVentress. It was much better than the other 6 seasons of clone wars Quote
Venkefedo Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) If. I do remember well, the new Jedi fighter was shown in the Clone Wars, season 2, Tartakowsky in the direction, before ep. II. when Anakin defeatsVentress. It was much better than the other 6 seasons of clone wars I think it was Season 1 of the Microseries (set, obviously, AFTER Episode II because Clone Wars). Genndy's series was a lot of fun, but not better than the 6 seasons of the CG Clone Wars. The Microseries was extremely light on story and character development, heavy on action--especially over-the-top, 'would never work in a live action SW film' action. It was Samurai Jack with lightsabers and other Star Wars trappings, and gave us our first tastes of Obi-Wan & Anakin as friends, of a good Prequel-era starfighter battle, and well-choreographed saber duels that didn't just feel like elaborate dances endlessly rehearsed & drained of life. It also, sadly, gave us our first wildly inaccurate experience with Grievous, setting or expectations far higher than Lucas ever intended. But it cannot compete with the later Clone Wars series, which delivered a more movie-esque Grievous, good character development of Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ventress, and the clones, solid duels, great battles on both the ground and in space, etc. That trumps Mace Windu beating an army of SBDs with his fists and old-school Superman-jumping back into battle after having a Coca-Cola moment with a kid any day. I'm still a fan of it, of course, and will pick up the set... Hopefully it can easily be modded into Plo's fighter! Edited October 20, 2014 by Venkefedo Quote
