Posted July 23, 201410 yr First attempt to build a 9V engine in a tram from set 8404. I'm pleased with the result. It is only a bit higher then the original design. Front & back Dismantling the tram Get rid of the small wheels and install trainwheels & adapt. Only used 1 trainwheelset cause otherwise the tram will derail. Result. Enlarge the centerpiece, so the 9V engine fits. Result !! I already tested them on a 9V track. Now, how to make a decent modern train/tramstation. Hope you enjoy this !! Cheers Pagan
July 23, 201410 yr Spare us that! That will mean blacked out windows (yawn) and a shiny black dome thingy sticking out on top. Hooray for good old 9 volt!
July 23, 201410 yr Author PF just takes to much space, as i have seen on YouTube. I still can use all space for seats. Cheers pagan
July 23, 201410 yr I'm not a fan of the 9 volts, but you have Made a good work... Finally somebody can see this tram run faster than a bullet!
July 23, 201410 yr I used to have this MOD with power functions in it but my tram has since been lost in the endless buckets of parts :( Great Job! -RailCo
July 24, 201410 yr Thanks, been meaning to look in to doing this with my 8404 too! Any videos of it in action? :)
July 25, 201410 yr Wow I didn't even know this set existed. Or that some 9v motors had that little ridge around the pin. I'm surprised no one has made this mod before!
July 25, 201410 yr A friend of me has already adapted the tram with 9V system. He included it in a little diorama. I can guarantee you that it was amazing.
