Gil-Galad Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 so who designed the helicarrier?? Marcos Bessa right?? Quote
elederberg Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 so who designed the helicarrier?? Marcos Bessa right?? Yes he is shown with it in the Detective Agency video in the G in Lego Design I think. Quote
Dharkan Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 The more I think about the Helicarrier the more I lose my excitement. I decided to be realistic, I don't have a enough space to display it. So I'd rather not spend 350 bucks on something I can't even find proper space to put into. But I'm really thrilled for whoever else is going to get it! Hoping to see some great and detailed reviews. :) Quote
Quicksilver Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Seriously Marvel....a micro trailer ???Hope Hydra will get to you once again like they did with the Avengers trailer. Hail Hydra. Is anyone else totally psyched to see what Ant-Man will look like in Lego form? I can't wait for that set, I'm a HUUUUGE Ant-Man fan! More of an Ant-Man than I am a Lego fan, in fact! Still can't believe after 3 years of Marvel sets, 2 Avengers movies and 42 years of Ant Man comics.... We haven't had an Ant Man Minifigure yet... Quote
JaseTJ Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Because we've gotten all the other Marvel characters with similarly long comic-run-time in those three years of Marvel sets... Sheesh, be grateful Quote

It makes sense why we haven't got him yet, as ant-man doesn't appeal to the younger demographic as much as his fellow Avengers, but you have to admit Ant-Man is one of the most, if not the most, neglected Original Avenger. adotnamedstud Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'd really enjoy a set with Daredevil now... It's not happening soon but I'd be happy to see one in the coming years. Seeing how the DC line is branching out. Quote
MrManiac Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised if we get a(nother) Daredevil set at some point (I vaguely recall a set with Daredevil in it already existing, maybe I'm misremembering), especially as both sides of the superhero theme are getting to dip into the more obscure/less surefire seller characters (MODOK? Hawkman? The Flash? And no insult to their fans, I'm just looking at these from a business/investment prospect). At this point, the question is whether it's a more Marvel Comics version of the character (like the sets with MODOK/Flash and the Spider-Man sets) or MCU-themed sets (since there is a Daredevil show being created). The Comics version is probably more recognizable to most people, while doing an MCU version could maybe let them do a crossover with Agents of SHIELD or some other characters. Quote
Themadpatter Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 No daredevil set yet and the flash is hardly obscure Quote
StreakofBlue Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Can someone tell me why they didn't use the Flash's helmet for Captain America? (By painting it blue and replacing yellow wings with white feathers) Quote
Quicksilver Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Can someone tell me why they didn't use the Flash's helmet for Captain America? (By painting it blue and replacing yellow wings with white feathers) Budget wise maybe? Also the Yellow wings are an integral part of the flash's costume but the white wings on Cap's helmet are not as important Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Can someone tell me why they didn't use the Flash's helmet for Captain America? (By painting it blue and replacing yellow wings with white feathers) Because Cap,s MCU helmet has the feathers either painted or moulded on. Quote
Scarilian Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Waiting for the Hellicarrier Photos Same... but pretty sure the person saying 'tommorow' didnt provide a source why it would be released today, so we might not necessarily get it today... Quote
mattdev25 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'll bet we get pics at Toy Fair, plus I'm not too eager to see it as I really don't care for UCS type sets, WAY too expensive in my book. Quote

Which toy fair? The New York one is being held from the 14th to 17th in February and we have conformation that the Helicarrier is being released February 17th to Lego VIP members. So we are bound to get pictures prior, as the UCS slave One pics (LEGO store exclusive) were released about on Sept 3rd and the Set was released on January 1st. Also the Dectective Office set pictures were released November 21st and was released January 1st as well. Edited January 3, 2015 by Quicksilver Quote
Captain Nemo Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Can someone tell me why they didn't use the Flash's helmet for Captain America? (By painting it blue and replacing yellow wings with white feathers) I wonder what kind of license restrictions are on the newer superhero pieces being molded. Actually, no, I'd be willing to bet there are some. For all we know, Lego cannot Flash's cowl with anything but DC sets--which means they can not use it for CA even if they wanted to. On the reverse there's also suggestions in the DC thread about using an Iron Man helmet repurposed for Deathstroke, which may have similar issues. I'm sure there are some contingencies in Lego's license that stops the crossing of licensed pieces. It's the same reason we never see say, Darth Vader's helmet, in anything but a Star Wars set. But regardless, in my opinion, I don't understand all the pleads for a "winged" Captain anyways. The wings are such a small portion on Captain America's costume I don't know why we even need a new mold or any type of extra headgear (other than potential printing) to represent them. It seems like it would be a waste of the theme's mold budget to upgrade Captain. The wings are not nearly as important to his costume (especially in the films) as say the bolts are to Flash's costume (which in Lego's version basically represent all of the yellow on him!). But that's my opinion. Quote

But that's my opinion. I fully agree. The only reason I think we would need one is to be able to have reversible faces like Flash has. The only reason I would want the wings on the helmet is if it were printed on the side of his head (ala Lobot). For AoU, Cap's wings are barely noticeable anyways. They seem to be subtly incorporated into his costume and are nothing like Flash's huge lightning bolts. Quote

Seeing how the DC line is branching out. Maybe soon? There is that Netflix MCU tie in show with Daredevil later this year (followed by Jessica Jones, Power Man, and Iron Fist shows). So far, they haven't promoted any Marvel television properties aside from USM and AA, but who knows what the future will hold :) Quote

Dharkan Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Cap figs look good enough without helmet. Flash wouldn't have looked good without his. and also I'm not even sure if Cap has his wings on MCU suit. Quote
KCMatze Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) Think the helmet in the MCU should represent a very modern and abstract version of his classic feathers, but not significant enough to mould a new piece for his LEGO representation. I am sure in LEGO it would look really nice (do not remember the members name on here, but someone has a blue colored Flash headpiece on Cap as avatar) but it is definitely not a must-have. When they have to explain the winning Lego Ideas set they'll likely unviel the Helicarrier to explain why the Lego ideas Helicarrier wasnt elligable for entry. Quote

It's not a massive problem though. Quote
