Ahah I would love 7-10 but I rather doubt it! Has anyone gone onto the pricevortex and seen just the clip art of the box. It has a section for characters but I don't know how many could fit there depending on how big the box is.

http://www.pricevortex.com/

It's a generic pic from some NL website, nothing directly related to 76042.

He's not designed anything this big though. Plus a full size Helicarrier with an interior would either be horribly out of scale, or much more expensive than what we're getting.

(Grr, image extensions were not allowed ¬_¬)

Nobody is expecting a full-size helicarrier. Instead like the Super Star Destroyer which it was compared to via a Lego employee, we are expecting it to be a similar situation.

Imagining this Super Star Destroyer (Helicarrier), the mini-Imperial Star Destroyer (Quinjet) is in scale with the actual exterior of the build while the interior contains a small playable segment in this case the bridge (Either the bridge, lab or prison) which is in scale with the figures but not the exterior. This allows for playability without attempting to be in true scale, we get a small segment that is in scale in order for playability despite playability not being the main focus.

We then get four-five figures normally with a few being exclusive figures in this case the chances are Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, Black Widow, Maria Hill like the Lego Ideas Helicarrier, possibly including Bruce Banner. This would give us about the same amount of exclusive figures as this set had at the time with Agent Coulson, Maria Hill and Bruce Banner being exclusive to this set.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is precisely the kind of set I'm expecting.

Really!? No, so we don't know for sure then that we are getting characters!

Well it would be nice to get the Nick Fury's black suit from the MCU and not USM!

We could see an updated or MCU version, but i feel they'd spend more time making the Coulson figure accurate as he's more of the fan favourite at this point (with Agents Of Shield)

Especially if he as an eyepatch with a complete string. Is side printing on heads really that hard?

At $350 we'd better get a complete string.

I might not be surprised if this set will only include 4 minifigures and a plaque with all the essential mumbo jumbo about the engines, weight, measurments etc. That being said, the Tumbler only had 2 but they were excellent.

Yeah but the Tumbler is just a car. It only fits two people anyway so it really wouldn't even make sense to have more than 3 characters at most. The Helicarrier has hundreds of people on it which is why I don't think the tumbler is that great of a comparison. The super star destroyer argument could be made but it'd be extremely hard to make an interior on that thing and the inside of it is only shown for a minute or so and it's only one room that we see, if I'm not mistaken. I'm just saying, it's not out of the realm of possibility to hope for more than 5 figs.

I agree with this, we've seen almost the entire helicarrier layout in both of the films that have featured them, plus i doubt it'll be as thin as the star destroyer, if you compare the two one is an almost blade thin design with a very shallow underside, then the helicarrier has a much deeper underside and cross section that is curved but wider and deeper underneath and on top. I could certainly see the deeper and wider shape being utilized for a room or two. Comparing the two is slightly hard as they are certainly quite different shapes and have different depths. the bottom goes even deeper with a cilindrical part extending beneath like a dome (in avengers 1 this is where the flight deck is, In cap 2 its slightly larger and more curved and houses the guidance control deck) See the two:

Avengers: http://2.bp.blogspot...snap-326067.png

Winter Soldier: http://www.cinemable..._1397076232.jpg

My point is in the Star Wars films all you see of the inside is the corridors, darth vader's strange hologram room and the bridge. Now the bridge is an iconic and recognisable location. In Avengers we saw the flight deck, Loki's cell, the hangar bay, the lab, the storage room. Obviously Lego would cherry pick important events from this list maybe The flight deck, loki's cell and the lab. The point is that far more of the rooms in The helicarrier are play-friendly and recognisable than the grey corridors leading to grey room after grey room of the executor, which is why they only did the command bridge. If they included Loki's cell you'd expect Coulson's gun to be included with him and for Loki to be included for someone to put in the cell, the command bridge really only needs nick and hill. If they wanted to make this a set to remember to pay tribute to the most iconic marvel movie location then i think its would be a good idea to include 7 plus figures. I mean look at Arkham Asylum, far less expensive and yet includes 8 figures. The reason for the tumbler only having two is perfectly stated in your comment as its a vehicle, this however is a command centre in the sky, it in reality has hundreds of people crew it, in lego you'd hope they'd remember that, it most likely won't happen but it would be nice if it had as many as ewok villiage. Failing that i think Arkham's number is fair for the price, if its only 5 then its only 5 we'll just have to see. I mean Orthanc was a UCS but that had quite a few rooms. It only had 5 figures but compared to this it was remarkably cheaper at £179.99.

I just thought, if the helicarrier is supposedly $349, could we see 10-20 figures, similar to the Death Star. To think we would only get 5 or so with close to $400 is absurd

C'mon guys please stop acting like little kids about the helicarrier. I try to follow this thread to actually see some news, but all you do is "ooh maybe it has 50 minifigs","i'll die if has no playfeatures" and on and on and on

I know this is the rumor and discussion thread but it's turning in a kindergardens playground if you ask me.

We don't really have anything else to talk about until we get an official release.. The tumbler had the same type of discussion. And at least we're speculating about something with relevance.

Thats a tad rude, nobody has said anything remotely childish, we are merely speculating on what the set may be like, there is no news currently and this is first a foremost a forum for news AND discussion so i see no harm in discussing the possiblities. It is bound to get stale as there is no real news on the helicarrier til its revealed but people like to speculate, they have a right to express their opinions just as you have a right to express yours. Criticising the fact that people are stating their opinions on what they want to see will just cause unneeded tension surely. Hopefully soon lego will unveil the helicarrier and we'll have concrete discussion topics.

Oh I'm guilty of it! But I don't care it just shows how much me and the rest of some of these guys are really excited are about the Helicarrier. And like Ultron said there isn't anything else to talk about. Would you rather we just do nothing or talk about speculation of SDCC characters?

How much is the Tumbler and how many figs did the Super Star Destroyer have?

Tumbler is $200 and the Super Star Destroyer was $400 with 5 figs.

Thanks I didn't have time to look it up! So thats good to hear that we will have some figures sadly not as much as the Death Star though!

That was absolutely unnecessary. No one is being childish except you, who is whining about something that people aren't doing.

This is a forum, not a newspaper. We are certainly here to discuss news, but we are also here to discuss rumors and what we have. The next piece of news will be the Helicarrier, but you can check the frontpage for that, as it will have its own press release thread. The new Spider-Man sets probably won't get pics for a while, so our discussion is currently restricted to speculation about the Helicarrier.

Its a rumors and discussion topic, not really a topic for news. Its better to keep this active with speculation and hype regardless as otherwise we would'nt be getting sets like the Helicarrier in the first place. Its through community hype that the word gets out their and people buy the sets.

If you are looking for news, in honesty it'll probably appear on either Just2Good, TheBrickFan or Groovebricks before most other places

Exactly. The interior may not be as limited as that of the SSD, but I don't expect a full scale interior (probably the bridge, the lab, and maybe Loki's cell). Depending on the size of the model, we could get some pretty nice sized, detailed rooms.

I just thought, if the helicarrier is supposedly $349, could we see 10-20 figures, similar to the Death Star. To think we would only get 5 or so with close to $400 is absurd

Wasn't the SSD $399.99? That only had four or five minifigs if memory serves correctly.

But is not a set like the Death Star

We don't know that. It won't be as expansive as the Death Star, but we could still get plenty of figures with it. Probably not as many as in the Death Star, again, but still a few.

Not necessarily. The $250 Ewok Village had, what, 12 figs? Han/Luke/Leia/Chewie, C3PO/R2, 5 Ewoks, 2 rebels and 2 scout troopers... Excuse me, 15 figures. Obviously we're looking at a vehicle as opposed to a pure playset, but we can't really get a firm yes/no based on what you said.

Really it all comes down to the "playset or not" question, and even beyond that- which rooms. Odds are the following areas would add at least one of the corresponding figures:

No interior: Fury, Coulson, Hill

Bridge: SHIELD officer(s), Black Widow, maybe Hawkeye (He is a SHIELD agent, after all, and if nothing else he can be attacking)

Prison: Loki, maybe Thor

Lab: Banner, maybe Stark

Hanger/Storage/Any other random areas: low-level SHIELD agents (Like, wearing jumpsuits as opposed to a SHIELD uniform)

I've gotta say, though, I really really hope for the rotors... I want so badly to put an Iron Man in there and spin it around

I can just imagine placing Iron Man on one of these in the rotor.
