As a fan, I don't want it to flop. Fox is going to retain the rights either way, so I'd prefer a great, high-quality, successful movie. Marvel Studios vs Fox is as stupid and pointless as Marvel vs DC. I don't care who makes it as long as it's good, and I don't care about shared universes since the FF wouldn't work very well in the MCU anyway.

The F4 would work very well in the MCU considering the rights to the Skrull, Silver Surfer, and Galactus are tied to them. Skrull vs Kree war would be great to see. Also, they are completely butchering the F4 in this reboot. 1) They are in their 20's, which is completely idiotic 2) Doctor Doom is rumored to be a woman. Yeah. 3) The lady who is playing Sue Storm said the director told them not to read any comics because this movie would not be based on them. This needs to flop badly because it's not going to be good and I am not going to be seeing that crap. Marvel Studios would make a better adaptation.

Why is Marvel trying to anger as many nerds as possible? Their reboots are awful compared to the well-defined continuity everyone loves, and seemingly trying to attract as much controversy as they can to get sales.

I'm sure LEGO won't reflect on it, though.

Because it's not Marvel, it's Fox who has the movie rights for FF and it's Fox who's making the movie. And like I said, they're only doing the movie because if they dont the movie rights to FF will automatically fall back to Marvel.

So yeah. I wouldn't mind some sets based on classic Fantastif Four tough!

@ultron remember the fact that Johnny is black but Sue is white

Also Dr Doom is not going to be female

Yeah I also think that's a bit stupid. It's good he's not a woman, still not seeing this abomination though.

And we are getting a Hulkbuster that can fit Iron Man? I'm getting my wallet ready.

That's what he said! Hopefully it looks good though..they need to make different colored ball joints that blend into the builds..Groots stick out pretty badly.

Well, Marvel has the Avengers reboot, too. But why is Fox allowed to make another movie, when Marvel tried to shut off FF entirely? It's really a shame, though. I'd like some classic FF sets.

What Avengers reboot? Fox is allowed to make this awful F4 reboot because they own the rights to the characters. The rights were about to revert back to Marvel if they didn't put a movie into production so last minute they slung this together. They don't care about fans over at Fox or Sony. That's what sucks. So, now Marvel is basically banning the F4 in their stuff because they are mad Fox is ruining the F4 like this and they want the rights back. I don't blame them.

It's called "Ultimate Avengers", I think. It was discussed here a while ago. It's coming out soon. Falcon becomes Cap, Iron Man gets a new suit, and Thor is dethroned and a female assumes the title and somehow is officially the deity upon doing so. Yeah.

That's only in the comics. It has no effect on the movies whatsoever and I don't think we'll ever see these new incarnations in the MCU anyway. Bucky is clearly going to become the new Cap in the MCU, not Falcon

Well, when we found out, everyone was frantic about the possibility of it being represented in sets.

I hope the Hulkbuster is okay, but it'll be interesting to see how it could fit a minifigure.

Thor is seen as being unworthy and loses his powers, that's how it goes. But I don't see that happening in any movie. So no need to worry over a Thor minifig with slightly longer hair

Really? That's dumb. These new characters don't even have stories written about them yet, how can we expect to see them in a set at this point in time...? That's never, ever going to happen unless we got them in a movie or cartoon show first which, again, won't happen. Marvel doesn't directly use these sets to promote their comic books.

Also these changes won't be forever.

Exactly, that's why I don't understand why people were so mad about them. We'll see Steve as Cap again one day.

They are working on a female thor movie

A female Thor is a temporary change in the comic... just like Dick Grayson as Batman or Doc Oc as Spiderman. But I would take a Superior Superman franchise over that "amazing" one any time.

The movie is made with not one single bit of love or care. Fox is only making it since they have to otherwise the rights fall back to Marvel. And the director is only making it so he can make Chronicle 2 with a different name (you would cringe at how much they're changing)

I know how much they're changing, and I think it's great. Comic book movies have always been pretty formulaic. It's great that Fox is hiring an auteur (Josh Trank) to direct this one, with his unique vision. This will be a brand new and interesting take on the Fantastic Four story, and they've got the perfect director to go into themes of what it would be like to experience what the FF went through (especially the Thing's horrible disfigurement).

I get it. You guys want a direct comic-to-film adaptation. But I'm a film fan over a Marvel fan and I trust Josh Trank to do a good job.

The rights are never, ever going back to Marvel Studios, so we might as well enjoy and support Marvel content no matter who publishes it. Especially if it breaks the mould like the upcoming Fantastic Four film looks to be doing.

It's called Avengers Now, and it looks really promising.

I don't expect to ever see fantastic four sets. Alright so hulk buster is going to have a groot look to him, that's good because iron man can go it. I think its great we're going to see ant man in a set.

^^ I knew I was wrong about the name! It's nice to see some optimistic reception for the movie, but from a production standpoint, it really stinks that they're doing this just to stay out of Marvel's hands, and causing the shutdown of a great franchise. I'm hoping the movie will flop, honestly, so this whole conflict can be solved and we can get LEGO sets...well, mostly for the dispute to be over, but still.

I have no idea, I just know that he is coming.

Sorry to bug you again, but was there any mention of Wasp to go with Antman? It'd kill me if we didn't get her

I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree. I'm fine with changes here and there, but this sounds nothing like the fantastic four to me. It's just a way to keep the rights. They don't care about the characters or fans otherwise they'd be sticking to the source. They just want the money, and I hope it flops. I'm not sure I agree when you say "The rights are never, ever going back to Marvel" If this does poorly, they are not going to pay money to make a sequel and lose money on it. They could very well let it go back and if having a more complete MCU comes at the expense of Fox losing a property, then so be it because the F4 deserve better than this.
