Hulk_Smash Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Sorry to bug you again, but was there any mention of Wasp to go with Antman? It'd kill me if we didn't get her I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree. I'm fine with changes here and there, but this sounds nothing like the fantastic four to me. It's just a way to keep the rights. They don't care about the characters or fans otherwise they'd be sticking to the source. They just want the money, and I hope it flops. I'm not sure I agree when you say "The rights are never, ever going back to Marvel" If this does poorly, they are not going to pay money to make a sequel and lose money on it. They could very well let it go back and if having a more complete MCU comes at the expense of Fox losing a property, then so be it because the F4 deserve better than this. I know nothing of the Ant-Man sets(s), just that we are getting one(s) Quote
LMB10 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Well at least we're getting him! One of my favourite Marvel characters Edited August 14, 2014 by LMB10 Quote
hollisbrick Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I hope we get a regular Antman MF that we can put into the larger one! Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I hope we get a regular Antman MF that we can put into the larger one! Why are you guys assuming there will be a larger Ant-Man? You realize he gets smaller, right? Like, not big but the other thing? I'd say we'd get a regular sized Ant-Man and then a tiny Ant-Man. If this is tied to the movie in any way (which it will be, even if it's in an Avengers Assemble set) he won't be Giant Man until he gets those powers, probably in a sequel if at all. Before anyone says this is going along with the post about the giant ant with Ant-Man riding on his back, that's very very much speculation (albeit wicked cool speculation). Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 Comic discussion or whether a movie deserves to fail or not is not the point of this topic. If you're typing a post and it has nothing to do with the Lego sets we might get, I invite you to post it in a different thread where it would belong. In other words: Stay On Topic, People! Quote
Piranha Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I think Antman will be in a AA set like Cap was this year. I would prefer the movie version, but his red suit is still cool. Quote
LMB10 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 A mini Ant-Man accessory that the villain could hold would be pretty cool for the shrunk version of the character. Quote
KingPixels Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) ^^ I knew I was wrong about the name! It's nice to see some optimistic reception for the movie, but from a production standpoint, it really stinks that they're doing this just to stay out of Marvel's hands, and causing the shutdown of a great franchise. I'm hoping the movie will flop, honestly, so this whole conflict can be solved and we can get LEGO sets...well, mostly for the dispute to be over, but still. If this movie flops, we can kiss any chance of Fantastic Four sets goodbye. Why would any company produce toys for a movie that's just been a financial bomb? If this movie does badly, it'll probably be the end of cinematic FF for a long time. I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree. If this movie does poorly, Marvel might get back the rights... ...in a minimum of eight years. Not worth it in my opinion. Why are you guys assuming there will be a larger Ant-Man? The word 'larger' is relative. By 'larger Ant-Man' he means the regular minifig scale one. EDIT: Whoops, just saw CorneliusMurdock's post. This will be my last post about the Fantastic Four. Ultron Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Man, all of the other cool themes are getting set rumors and I'm just sitting here waiting for rumors for the Age of Ultron sets! It is nice to know that we'll be getting Antman though. Quote

Ultron Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 We'll they have to keep the movie under wraps the most due to it being able to spoiling the movie. O I know, I'm just impatient! When did we hear rumors for the first Avengers sets? Quote
LMB10 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 It was different the first time around since it was a new theme entirely - so we saw prototypes for figures very early on, and more stuff around NYCC I think. That would be the best bet of when news would hit Quote

That would be the best bet of when news would hit Yet I wouldn't be surprised if they showed off a few figs at NYCC or the NYTF possibly. But if the Hobbit is anything to go off of, I recall the Hobbit set names leaked really early this year so maybe we'll get a rumor or two in a month or so. Although those plot details may not be as heavily guarded since it's a book adaptation. Time will tell. Quote

I'd say we'd get a regular sized Ant-Man and then a tiny Ant-Man. Because Hulk-Smash said apparently there will be one and he's been quite reliable in the past. And I speculate because I can and because it's fun ;D And yes, I realise he gets smaller...like, obviously. Quote
Ojik Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 War Machines a cameo and Falcon isn't confirmed, and if so he's probably only a cameo too... Highly doubt they'd get sets. War Machine is confirmed, yet I'd love to get Falcon much more. I think we will get five Avengers sets with every main character, even possibly Fury (in his hobo appearance ) and Hill. If I may touch the speculations about the film itself, I think we will see Coulson in the post credit scene revealing himself to The Avengers, but that's of course very hard to foresee, especially with a whole new season of Agents coming soon. And later next year one set with Ant-Man. I would welcome more, though. And hopefully no USM sets. Quote
Rinzler Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 @Hulk_Smash Do you know anything else? Avengers?, Spider-Man? Fantastic Four? Quote
BigPoppaBrick Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Not fussed on Antman sets tbh, never was that big of a fan of him or Wasp either. Would prefer to see more classic comic style sets like Doc Ocs van raid. Loads of potential there and would love to see some classic minifigures before Decool and SY beat Lego to it. Quote
rexusprime Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 The new say Falcon won't appear. Also I'm not sure if we get a vision figure...I think he won't be a big character in the movie. I hope we get 3 ultron variants. Like everybody know he gets stronger during the movie and his armour changes so the last phase of his evolution would be in the most expensive set. A weak ultron would be perfect for a cheap set. The only problem is that ultron is the equivalent for Loki and I think we got 2lokis in the avengers wave so TLG needs to make place for a third Ultron in the avengers 2 wave either by just putting 1figure more in a set or deleting 1 iron man variant. Quote
LMB10 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I'm 99% certain that even if Falcon does appear (which will be a cameo at best) he won't be in a set. There's too many other important characters that Lego will spread over the sets to encourage a 'buy them all to complete the team' selling point. Quote

He's more of a secondary character, and we got him this year (I know, he wasn't the MCU version and we got a Thor, Cap, and Hulk this year. But they're much more popular). Quote
Ultron Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Also I'm not sure if we get a vision figure...I think he won't be a big character in the movie. Don't say that....!!!! He's likely to be very important during the third act because Vision helped defeat Ultron when he first fought the Avengers and was basically the reason they won. We'll get him. Or someone will die. rexusprime Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 @ultron don't get me wrong I love Vision and a mini figure would be so cool but I'm not sure at the moment if he's really that important that they will make a mini figure out of him especially when we got a big line up like we have in the new movie. @slugdude I didn't know that sorry Quote
