psqidexslizer248 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Y'know, the Helicarrier on Ideas is still listed in the "In Review" section, maybe we'll get the announcement through them? I doubt that they'd not pass the set because of them having a set like it already going out and not say that. I wonder if they'll count that as one of their passed sets, actually? I'm guessing they are waiting until the Helicarrier is available for purchase or publically announced before they take it out of the "In Review" section. Quote
Quicksilver Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Tomorrow at the London Toy Fair we should have news and info on the summer sets. Sadly we will get no pictures, but we will get info on the sets. It will give us a nice break from the Helicarrier discussion. Looking forward to seeing who comes in the Carnage SHIELD Strike set. Quicksilver Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I thought Carnage was in it. Well the other people. It's called SHIELD strike, so it will probably include a SHIELD character and since Carnage is a Sider-Man villian, Spiderman. (Fingers crossed for Iron Spider). Did we get any conformations on the Price Points yet? I'm assuming it's a $20.00 set and comes with Three guys. Quote

I don't think we have prices for any summer Super Heroes sets beside Jokerland, but I expect we'll have at least some guess as to the price tomorrow. Edited January 19, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote

Okay. If it is over $20, Is there any chance we get another Spidey Ally such as The Human Torch, Venom, White Tiger, Deadpool or Dr.Strange that have helped take Carnage down in Comics? Quote

Human Torch and Deadpool are unlikely due to Marvel's issues with Fox. Deadpool and Venom are typically seen as villains, so I wouldn't count on them. White Tiger is supposedly in the Rhino and Sandman set (I think, I'll try and find that source). Edit: Alright, I have no idea where I heard that last part. Jay_Em Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 As a worker at argos I can confir that this will be the actual price. I'll let you know when they arrive and (unless I'm risking my job doing so) try and get some pictures. Normally the stock room is pretty empty and the guys are pretty relaxed so hopefully they won't mind Just noticed that the margin description says it's £60. Did you mean £60 will be the actual price, or the £70 shown in the label on top of the set picture will be the actual price? Quote

Really hoping to get another set with Deadpool in the future, as I missed out on the Chopper Showdown, and Deadpool and Carnage recently had a versus series in the comics. Quote

Couldn't you order DP on Bricklink? Unless he's too expensive... Quote
Quicksilver Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Couldn't you order DP on Bricklink? Unless he's too expensive... Thanks for the suggestion. Deadpool is around $35 Bucks a pop. Not really worth it. Edited January 19, 2015 by Quicksilver Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Is he going for that much? Wow! And to think, he came in a $20.00 set. Quote

I'm not actually sure, I'll have a look on the system next time that I'm in. Just checked today and the sets aren't in the warehouse yet, I assume we will start getting them late February and I'll probably have to reserve them to get my staff discount! As soon as they do I'll let you guys know and hopefully post a picture (unless we've already seen the boxes) Quote
Super Goblin Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I've had a Deadpool in my trade thread forever and no one has showed interest. I figured everyone that needed one got one. Quote

Jay_Em Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I got the entire Wolverine's Chopper Showdown set for £30 on eBay, complete with minifigures, including Deadpool. If you really want one I'd keep an eye out for the set on eBay. Quote

I doubt that they'd not pass the set because of them having a set like it already going out and not say that. I wonder if they'll count that as one of their passed sets, actually? I believe they'll likely give an announcement that the UCS Helicarrier has been in development since before the Ideas entry (Whether that is true or not) and that because of this they unfortunately had to remove that entry. Will be interested to see how they handle it in honesty as i feel sorry for the guy who spent so long designing the ideas version. Quote
Robianco Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 UCS sets on Ideas are never going to be made as Ideas sets... I think the Sandcrawler showed exactly how they handle it. I think the designer has actually scaled down his design down to make it something that might 'remotely' be possible to be sold as a large UCS set but the initial design was outrageously large. I've never been a fan of every MOC getting posted on Ideas although it definitely looks as though his design was intended for just that... although I can see the purpose of putting a set like that on there to just show that there's interest in something like that. Minas Tirith has done something similar in showing that people still want LOTR sets. Those large sets such as the X-Mansion or Wayne Manor are well done but they actually lose something for me. They're a little cold in their execution of being pushed as a retail set rather than an excellent MOC that may be worthy of production. I've no doubt that Lego have had this set in development for a long time and it really is a case of bad timing... and the reality that Ideas sets are roughly $50... not $350. Just my opinion though... Quote
Scarilian Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) UCS sets on Ideas are never going to be made as Ideas sets... I think the Sandcrawler showed exactly how they handle it. I think the designer has actually scaled down his design down to make it something that might 'remotely' be possible to be sold as a large UCS set but the initial design was outrageously large. The Ideas version is likely not related to the version that is currently planned for release, also i could see the UCS line expanding to bigger sets in future due to its popularity... but thats my own thoughts on the line While the initial Ideas design was insanely large, when Lego stated that due to its size it was unlikely to be made a set, the designer scaled it down to a much smaller version. Either way, that set would have been entered fairly with a chance of winning, only issue is that the set has already been made by Lego at this point. So the question remains how they handle it... Though i do agree that most the insanely large things such as the X-Mansion and Wayne Manor are more made to be giant for the sake of being giant, i've always viewed those sets as 'end game' sets. Once you make them, you cant really make anymore building sets without looking frail in comparison. --- Either way, looking forward to hearing news about the set during the Toy Fair and hopefully an image leaks :3 Edited January 20, 2015 by Scarilian Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Thanks for the Tip. Most likely YellowJacket will be present, Hank Pym as well and just maybe Hope Van Dye If it is indeed movie based we might just get Ant-Man, Hope(as Wasp in uniform, like they'll have a Antman gum without Wasp) and Yellowjacket. Hank or Cassie would be nice. We might not get a description as this set could get the GotG treatment and have a select few actually see the set. I bet a USM version of Coulson will be in the Carnage set while the MCU version will be in the Helicarrier. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I'm hoping it's a Spidey variant (Miles Morales or Iron Spider particularly), Carnage, and Coulson or Human Torch. I'd say that if we see a Human Torch figure anywhere ever, it'll be here. Problem with him is that to be done anywhere close to right he'd have to take up two fig slots: flame on and flame off. Leaving him on fire all the time would be really inconvenient but just lighting his regular head on fire would be extremely dumb. Quote
