Ezekiel2517 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Starlord's hair without the helmet would have made a good new hair. Lots of people have that kind of hair like Tony Stark in IM1 and IM2 and Hawkeye. Quote
wesker Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 WS wouldn't have made good sets. The only thing that I think was a missed opportunity was the Winter Soldier himself. I want him! Thor 2 I think would've been nice to get Malekith or a Dark elf though..maybe one day we'll get their comic book appearances in a set. On the bright side we'll still be seeing more of Winter Soldier in the MCU, plus we're lucky his comic and movie appearances are almost identical to each other, so there's still plenty more opportunities to get a minifigure of him. CastleDefender Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Ant-Man will come. As will a bionicleish sized Hulkbuster This sounded good news for marvel fans...always wanting a hulkbuster and seeing a lot of other fans moc-ing their own hulkbusters make me drool. Juz hope tat the superheroes DC/Marvel licensing will be as long as star wars....and we can get infinite superheroes sets.... I oso hope we can get Thanos!!! This version is cute. Quote

Good thing! Hopefully (if he's not a S@H exclusive or even the dreaded SDCC exclusive ) we'll get him in a tie-in set for Captain America 3. Or I suppose we may have to wait until the inevitable Avengers 3 where he will have to be in a set. We could even get him in an Avengers Assemble set although I don't think he's shown up in that show. I oso hope we can get Thanos!!! This version is cute. I'd love that! But he needs a separate molded arm for his infinity gauntlet. There isn't one on that version Quote
kevkipo Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Just came back from GOTG (just released in NL) and i loved it. Rocket was the best of all, He had so much humor. It was very sad to see him cry. Yondu and his Whistle-Arrow was really cool too! I didn't know the ravagers where such a big team? The best parts where: * Spoilers * Rocket kicking grass, Peter calling Ronan a Turdblossom, and Drax calling Gamora his green h00ker friend All in all, a Fantastic movie. Sets are very accurate. I'm going to BL Ronan and Rocket now P.S does anyone know where i can buy those Mining Pods? i loved them in the movie Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 But he wears the glasses in the show and in alot of concept art he did as well. It was very inaccurate to the movie because he never looked like that but look at the concept art... These coments on minifig inaccuracy got me thinking when TLG people design the sets I think they only get to look at concept art. Think back to the Mandarin this is what we got... Here look at Hawkeye concept art... Quote
Dharkan Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Mandarin was a disaster (so was Iron Man 3), they just wanted to give a political message and wasted a great enemy of Iron Man for that. Quote
Ultron Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Mandarin was a disaster (so was Iron Man 3), they just wanted to give a political message and wasted a great enemy of Iron Man for that. Well, to be honest, Iron Man has a crummy rogues gallery anyway. Although it was a bit of a cop out. Still a good movie in my opinion though, just doesn't really feel like a comic book movie. Anyway, not the place for this discussion And even based on that concept art, I still don't see how they got Hawkeyes hair wrong? It doesn't look slicked back. I wonder if we'll actually get a real quiver this time? A printed one doesn't really give him the full "archer" effect. Quote
Dharkan Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I agree with you about quiver. And it is about time they update their quiver mold too. Quote
Ultron Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I agree with you about quiver. And it is about time they update their quiver mold too. Or at least make a new mold for Hawkeye because like you said, it's outdated. Quote
LMB10 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I'd rather he didn't have a quiver if it means that silly neck-ring has to be used. They look really off in my opinion, and ruin the look of the figures... Just my opinion Quote
Ezekiel2517 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Do you guys think that Ultron will be a minifigure or a robot like the ones from hero factory? He can have a red mini figure head with a helmet that shows the red eyes and mouth. Quote
rexusprime Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I hope he's not a minifig. Vision works as a C3PO-like mini figure but ultrons body just doesn't look like a normal mini figure body Quote
Douglas_Jon Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 What with Avengers 2 and Ant Man coming out later in the year, do you think we'll get a wave of TV themed (Spiderman etc) sets in January, followed by maybe 3 sets for Avengers and 3 for Ant Man being released closer to Summer? Quote
rexusprime Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I don't believe we're only getting 3 avengers sets Quote
Douglas_Jon Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I'm not too sure on how many sets are released per movie to be honest, I just took a wild guess. Quote
slugdude Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I'm not too sure on how many sets are released per movie to be honest, I just took a wild guess. I'm guessing there'll be 4 or 5 Avengers 2 and 1 or 2 Ant-Man. Quote
Ultron Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Do you guys think that Ultron will be a minifigure or a robot like the ones from hero factory? He can have a red mini figure head with a helmet that shows the red eyes and mouth. That thought never occurred to me but I guess it's possible. He's supposedly about 8 feet tall in the movie and those are slightly taller than minifigs so it may work. But at the same time I'd rather have him and his minions as minifigs. That way they can be more detailed with printing plus they can still use a red minifig head underneath a helmet. They're also more playable. Those robots don't exactly look right next to regular minifigs anyway so that may not work..Yeah, I don't want him as one of those Hero factory guys. He's probably going to need to hold trans red studs in his hands and also on his feet so one of those robots wouldn't work for that either. I hope he's not a minifig. Vision works as a C3PO-like mini figure but ultrons body just doesn't look like a normal mini figure body His later upgrades may need some sort of body armor but I think it could still work as a minifig. What with Avengers 2 and Ant Man coming out later in the year, do you think we'll get a wave of TV themed (Spiderman etc) sets in January, followed by maybe 3 sets for Avengers and 3 for Ant Man being released closer to Summer? Well Avengers 2 comes out in may which is still the first half of the year. We usually get the movie sets about 1-2 months before the movie comes out so we'll probably get the AoU sets in April just like with the first Avengers movie. We could get a few spidey sets in January though, and if so, we'd be getting rumors of that sometime soon. Quote
rexusprime Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 His later upgrades may need some sort of body armor but I think it could still work as a minifig. I agree with you but as you said ultron is still to tall for a normal minifigure. I just looked at the Ultron pic from the movie and I think a normal minifig could work if they do armor on him so he looks a bit bigger Quote

I just looked at the Ultron pic from the movie and I think a normal minifig could work if they do armor on him so he looks a bit bigger I just hope however he looks he doesn't fall into the "bad concept art" transition to being a minifig like Loki did...But if the GotG figs are anything to go off of, they'll be really awesome and accurate. By the way, how do they base the sets off of stuff from the movie? Do they get to see the movie before hand? Or does Marvel give them concept art for scenes as well? That always puzzled me, considering they wouldn't even have much footage 12 months in advanced... Quote
rexusprime Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I think they show them concept art from the movie...still doesn't explain the IM3 Mandarin buggy... Quote
Ultron Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I think they show them concept art from the movie...still doesn't explain the IM3 Mandarin buggy... Maybe Marvel lied to them and told them the Mandarin was the villain so that no one would suspect it. And then they just made up the buggy to add another set? Idk..those sets were a disaster, the only good thing that came from them was War Machine. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Concept art for vehicles and characters, plus the big action scene in the original script. (IM in the Loki set, he was in the script when it was a subway chase before it changed to a truck, then they got rid of IM altogether for the scene). Toy Companies are allowed to see one version and sent off. Quote
rexusprime Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Idk..those sets were a disaster, the only good thing that came from them was War Machine. I totally agree with you. I just bought that set because of him. Concept art for vehicles and characters, plus the big action scene in the original script. (IM in the Loki set, he was in the script when it was a subway chase before it changed to a truck, then they got rid of IM altogether for the scene). Toy Companies are allowed to see one version and sent off. That explains so much...I was always confused when I saw the hawkeye mini figure with sunglasses. I thought I missed something in the movie because he never actually wore them except in the end scene. Quote

Apparently Trevor was supposed be in the final fight. He injected himself with Extremis, fought a few armours, then blew up due to the rejection thing. Also what about Tony, Pepper the two armours, Iron Patriot, Killian and Mandarin (i pretend hes the real deal version)? Quote
