Robianco Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) It certainly looks a beast. I'll be interested to see how people react to the scaling with those Quinjets. Now comes the question of the minifigs. I'm still thinking around 5-6 of them. Ninja'd! I didn't see that as an Iron Man microfigure. If it is then it's certainly something that'll be worrying those that wanted a Death Star/Ewok Village style army of figures to come with it. I can't see them doing both minifigures and microfigures in the one set... they wouldn't would they?! Unless the micro figures are there as a play feature whereas they'll give a couple of minifigures to sit with the display stand as with the Tumbler. The bridge area looks 4 studs wide so that's not big enough for a minifig... the rear landing deck/ramp would have to be something that could lift off to reveal a lab or control area... maybe even a big chunk of the whole central landing strip could be removable? That reveal (when it actually happens) will have people cheering for joy or screaming at their computer screens in derision. Edited January 29, 2015 by Robianco Quote

Looking at that I have doubts there will be any, I reckon it'll just be a load of those microfigures as I think I can see a few on the deck. Oh dear theres even a one in balck suit with a bald head in the deck as far as I can see, I reckon that might be a microfigure fury, they probably aren't going the minifig route. deskp Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 sure those are microfigures and not trophy figs? Quote
WarSquirrel Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Very disappointed because I was really hoping for them to be like these micro figures Edited January 29, 2015 by WarSquirrel Quote
The-Daryl Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 It looks good. Though, to be completely honest - At first blush it seems very small for $350 USD (maybe that price was just a rumor?) Guess we'll find out soon. Quote
legofreak86 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) sure those are microfigures and not trophy figs? True the iron man one looks more like a trophy fig. That seals it most likely, probably a load of trophyfigures cause they are in scale with the set and cheaper probably to make. That's a shame but oh well, we still have AOU sets, bummer if it means we miss out on Coulson and fury and they just become trophy figs. Edited January 29, 2015 by legofreak86 Quote

You were looking at it much closer than I to spot the trophy figures on the deck... it certainly does looks like there's a few of them on there. Fair play to them for trying something a little different. It may not be what a lot of minifig collectors were looking for but as a set that could work as both a display and play set it might be just what Lego wanted to produce. I'm sure there'll be howls from those that will now post comparison picks of the original Ideas submission and this one. Quote
legofreak86 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Well for a UCS it is a bit blocky, as a display piece which without play features or minfigures that's the only thing it could be, it doesn't exactly have the best UCS detail I've seen, for the price its a tad small and dare I say it a bit underdone. deskp Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Didnt someone say there would be microfigures(their word) aswell as minifigures? One doesent have to repalce the other. Real and exclusive minifigures certainly drives up the appeal of any set. Quote
Brickmasta Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Just found that on a Facebook Page... https://www.facebook...dultFansOfLego/ Edit: Ups, page earlier somebody already posted it... didn't see that, sorry :D Edited January 29, 2015 by Brickmasta Quote
Cammo Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 It really doesn't look like a 350.00 dollar set tbh... Quote
Brickmasta Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 My first thought too but count the studs for the length it will be... Quote
Jay_Em Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I reckon it will have an interior of some sort; it seems pretty deep to me. Mini figures still very possible. Quote
legofreak86 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) I reckon it will have an interior of some sort; it seems pretty deep to me. Mini figures still very possible. I hope so, as a display model it sadly pales in comparison to previous attempts, it almost looks like with the trophies they went with a midi scale, it looks small, not imposing or impressive. Unless this set has any minfigures I doubt its gonna sell half as well as other UCS projects as it just looks like a halfway effort in between scales, like they couldn't visualise it honestly and they sort of just half baked it. It just doesn't have the "WOW!" factor that most of these large scale sets have. Orthanc had it, star destroyer had it, death star had it, slave 1 has it big time, Simpson's house has it,as does arkham and ewok villiage even the regular scale Milano and millennium falcon have it. Kraby Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Not quite sure how I feel about it. I'll wait till I see the official pictures, & figs lineup. Quote

legofreak86 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 "Patience is a virtue..." Good point, I will withhold my final verdict until Lego officially shows it off tomorrow.. Quote

Agreed. I was expecting something around 1m with a lot of details, like the star destroyer, and a nice display, this looks to be more of a playable UCS version... but lets see what the first reviews have to say. Its not even a playability model as it has no minifigures and just blank trophy figures, kids won't fall for that. Quote
legofreak86 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Hold up, off topic, is the post clock faulty as according to mine its 10:52 but on there it says 11:53? Edited January 29, 2015 by legofreak86 Quote
zipper778 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 That doesn't look like a $350 set to me. I'm curious about the official release, but so far this is a disapointment. Quote
Robert8 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Lego might do a Marvel (and I would imagine DC) collectible minifig line. Say what?! My gosh... The CMF theme is going downhill..... Quote
Scarilian Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Have to second everyone else... at the moment that is not a $350 set... Hopefully official pics help, most likely going to wait till the double VIP points in March, get it then. Disappointed by the microfigures and overall excessive amount of mini-quinjets to up the price. Edited January 29, 2015 by Scarilian Quote
