Robianco Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Well, what was everyone expecting ? I think this question pretty much sums up some people's reactions. I bet you $10 Coulson comes in the Spider-Man SHIELD set for Summer 2015. When you start laying bets like that some people start asking who you've heard it from! Quote
ZionAzure Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I bet you $10 Coulson comes in the Spider-Man SHIELD set for Summer 2015. I bet he's going to be coming to the dreaded place as a thing-that-must-not-be-named. Quote
Ultron Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 The build looks pretty good but what makes them think it's okay to give us so many microfigs instead of regular ones? Really mad about that. The regular figs seem half assed as well. Definitely expected more out of them. The lack of coulson now has me thinking that "shield agent" in the carnage set will be him. Could we at least get a shield agent poly after this cop out? This really isn't fair. Quote

Im jsut glad they didn't put ironman in it Quote

I dont see why it isn't fair. its standard practise for these kidna of sets. sure we all want lots of new figures. Quote
Ultron Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Well if it's $350 (which is $50 overpriced because the piece count is 2996) I'd at least like 8 real shield agents for that extra 50 bucks. Quote
strangely Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Can't say I care for it very much. The trophy pieces were an odd choice. The scale doesn't work for me either. The minifigure selection is pretty disappointing. Same Black Widow and Hawkeye. And Captain America with Obi-Wan's head is so lazy. Hill and Fury are awesome, but unfortunately their the only part of this set I like with no reservations. Quote

Ashnflash Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I agree greatly disappointed about this set, NOT WORTH $450 and no Coulson..... Quote
XAxles Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Does anyone wanna see the bridge? You don't? No? Sure? Good. Move along. Yes? You do? Really? You wanna? Here ya go: *snip* So now you have one Iron Man Trophy for Smooth Exterior Work and one Captain America Trophy for Internal Stiffness and Stability. Actually, I like this bridge, and I like it a lot. Edit by Bob de Quatre: No we don't, not until the official date/time of release Edited January 29, 2015 by Bob De Quatre Confidential pictures Quote
Ashnflash Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 That was in the link.... I thought it was gonna be minifig scale!!! Quote
shaggysanchez Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Well if it's $350 (which is $50 overpriced because the piece count is 2996) I'd at least like 8 real shield agents for that extra 50 bucks. You have obviously never bought a Star Wars set if you think that 2996 pcs should equal $300. The Tumbler was $200 for 1869 pcs and 2 minifigs. Sure it would be nice to have a bunch of minifigs but we have no idea what parts are inside this thing. Are there a lot of larger pieces we can't see are all the yellow lines and shield logos printed or are they stickers? All of this could raise the price of the set. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Wow, that whole thing is very disappointing. The main model does the job I suppose, though the pictures do not make it look very imposing. I'm not a hug fan of the helicarrier design anyway, so maybe to fans of it it's better. I love the Shield logo statuette, but the minifigure selection is really terrible. After LEGO went out of its way to make two cool exclusive minifigs for the Tumbler, I would have thought that they would cook up some cool exclusives here too. Instead, the only exclusive things are the bodies on Maria Hill and Nick Fury. Cap'n appears to have a young Obi-Wan face, and Nick Fury seems to have the same head he had in the Spider-Man set. They could have done an exclusive Cap, or Winter Soldier style Falcon, or something. The trophy figs are really cute though. Quote
XAxles Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 That was in the link.... I thought it was gonna be minifig scale!!! It's still a pretty slick job for the size. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I think the Helicarrier looks amazing, even though there's no real reason for the omission of Coulson (unless just2goods assumption is right of course). The trophy-sized figures are a great touch as well, they look so adorable I'm glad the Voodoo Jack Sparrow one isn't the only printed one any longer, they should definitely do more of these The way those trans-light blue screens are attached amuses me too, didn't that use to be an illegal technique? Quote
XAxles Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) You blokes are clamoring for figs a little too much I'm now seeing it as overkill. It's like wishing an Enzo Ferrari fig in the UCS Ferrari F40, even if the fig is just, what, just $0.75 compared to the rest of the model. Edited January 29, 2015 by XAxles Quote
Bissspuren Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I dont get the microfigure-hate. A helicarrier needs a deck crew. And minifigures would have looked ridiculous, stepping on quinjets and stuff. I think it is a clever solition to make the Carrier feel more alive. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Definitely just going to try Bricklink-ing Hill, Fury, and Cap. That's way too expensive for so few unique figures and a big build. Quote
XAxles Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 The build looks pretty good but what makes them think it's okay to give us so many microfigs instead of regular ones? Really mad about that... Definitely expected more out of them. Unless you want TLG to go Bugatti when the Veyron was made and make a thing that'd make them lose more money by making the model 100% fig-scale like the Ideas Helicarrier. Look at the pic of the bridge. That level of detail put the main minifigs to shame, sure, but still. Quote
Quicksilver Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Well... It's cool we got an upclose picture of Hawkeye, Black Widow and Captain America's figures from the New sets. it isn't the best UCS set, but I guess they were trying to give it more play ability and realism with the microfigures, however still disappointed that no part of the set is Mini-figure Scale. I'll probably hold out on this set until the Winter Solider Polybag comes out in June. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Meh, looks ok. I for sure was never going to buy this in the first place, and even if the set was amazing I still would not have bought it--it's just too far out of my budget. I do think the minifigures are nice, well Hill and Fury. I'm not super surprised that Coulson is not in the set, since I do expect him to get some sort of wide release at some point--it's going to happen people, we just have to wait. The micro-trophies are a surprise to me, and they're some what cute; although I think if I had them in hand I would be disappointed. Although I think Lego now did miss the chance to add a microfigure of the Hulk which would be in scale with the other mini-mini-figs. On the whole though, I feel it's a bit cluttered looking--and actually a bit hard to look at. I think the studs don't mesh too well with the stickered (most likely) runways. From the wide shot it almost starts to look like a blob. And all the deck elements like mini Quinjets don't help. Also--since when are the 1x1 clip plates attached to vertical tile edges a legal connection in Lego?! Wonder if it'll be mentioned in the video; whenever that comes out. Quote
Artifex Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Can anyone confirm if this is the real thing? Quote
ghostmind Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Wauuugh, why is this Super Star Destroyer so expensive? Not worth it at $400 when the only exclusive minifigure is Dengar. They should have included 4-LOM and Zuckuss! I'm just going to try Bricklink'ing them instead of spending this kind of money! Wauuughh. Quote
