The aesthetic design of the Helicarrier is beautiful - very faithful to the source material, and looks like a fantastic display piece. Well done TLG! :classic:

However, it falls apart when it comes to the play-ability. Whilst I appreciate that the Technic function is nice, that seems to have cost vital interior space. I mean, the underscaled figures - I can see why they did it, but it feels like a real stomach blow. Could've fitted one nicely proportioned, minifigure scale room in there if it wasn't for the rotor function. Eh, it stings.

And the Minifigures - Hill is great, but the rest are meh. Should've had a Coulson or generic SHIELD agents as opposed to Hawkeye and Black Widow. Ah well.

Great effort TLG. As a display piece, it is great! Sadly, that's about it. :classic:

I bet you $10 Coulson comes in the Spider-Man SHIELD set for Summer 2015.

Also, they should have put Bruce Banner in the set instead of Hawkeye...

That would be ideal, the helicarrier isn't even close to worth £270 for me considering the death star's perfection. I'll pay whatever ridiculous price fury and hill are on the web, Coulson is very well known to the younger audience so the USM set makes sense. My money is reserved for the AOU, Jurassic World and Star wars sets most likely.

Im disappointed they couldnt have made the command center like they did on the Super Star Destroyed so we could have been able to fit actual minifigures instead of micro figures. They give you, what 20 micro figures? Why couldnt they have saved the plastic and just given us a Bruce Banner or Coulson?

Because TLG does not love you anymore!! Well 12 trophy-figs isn't that bad if they do the job and do it well.

Hey, I just realized it, there's a chance that someone can make an Avengers Chessboard using the trophy-figs as the men.Though that'd mean more trophy-fig versions of your favorite Avengers characters.

When I see the trophy figs, I think action figures for my minifigures. Iron Man and Captain America can have their own little Civil War over lunch, or a little kid can stare wantingly at a Hawkeye figure on a store shelf, or better yet, the new Comic Book Guy minifig can complain on the Internet about how they should've made Agent Coulson or Bruce Banner instead of a generic SHIELD Agent! These things are really cool for such a different reason than new minifigs would be! (Besides, Coulson's probably going to be in the Carnage set)

 Best thing I've read all day, perhaps even the best thing I've on these forums.

Coulson with a Cap action figure! :3

I'm really very unsure about this set as of yet... I want to see the 'figs on the deck before I make a final decision...

Ah, who am I kidding, I've gotta buy it  It's definitely a lot smaller than I pictured, but all the more dense/detailed for it. If I can ever afford to, I might buy 2 of it to make one a little more 'fig scaled.

I did some research and the captain america head is using the same head as 75058 MTT obi-wan kenobi. The head piece however seems to be a new color, or it could be star lords hair. Not sure

Finally, although I do not have the money for this set is very good. Including two beautiful unique characters. it's a little worse with Hawkeye and Black Widow,

it's a great and unique set, but only with two new characters is a little silly. The microfigures are great and now we know how micro Ant man will looks like:)

I think it's Star-Lords' hair, it looks medium dark flesh.

I'm retracting my previous statements about the Helicarrier! After watching the video I like it now! I just don't know if I can convince myself that for $450 that its worth it....

Definitely disappointed with this set. First of all, it looks like just a display model with absolutely zero playability, so that's a huge flaw right there. The whole thing is just too small to work. In my opinion, it was a bad idea from the start. Something of that size can't possibly be replicated in a way that gives the model justice. I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for saying that, but it's my opinion. Secondly, I don't like the figure count. 5 figures (Only 2 are exclusive) for 350 buckaroos? That doesn't resonate well with me, especially since the Death Star had 24 figures and cost $400. I mean, I know it's a UCS set and all, but would it kill Lego to include at least different variations of the other 3 figs we got? Winter Soldier Widow and Cap, and a non-suited up Hawkeye? Or maybe just replace Hawkeye with Bruce Banner? I don't know, I just don't like that there are only 2 exclusive figures in this set. I know Captain America has a new Steve Rogers head and hair piece, but that head looks nothing like Chris Evans, and his aggressive facial expression looks like something we would have gotten in 2008. The one thing I do like, however, is the S.H.I.E.L.D. Display base. That looks perfect in my eyes! Sorry for rambling, but I thoughtI should say how I feel about this set. Final verdict: Skipping out on this one entirely. Had no plans to buy it in the past, have no plans now. Sorry.

Edit: Regarding the new game, and I really hate to be all negative, but I'm legitimately worried. Last time around, the game was just flat out called Marvel Superheroes. But now it's Avengers. Does this mean we're only getting characters from the Avengers and no open world? Seems a bit smaller than the previous game for me. Although obviously I can't criticize it based on a poster and a title, lol. I'm definitely going to have to see if my concerns are true or false, though.

The 8x16s printed with runways seem promising, at least. Good for MOC/MODing your own.

Yeah, after watching the video, I have a distinct feeling I'm really gunna want to MOD it heavily. Still want it, though.

So... I knew about the Nick Fury figure for a few weeks. But didn't realize it was the real deal until now.

So... I'll go look on there for anything else.

EDIT: And Maria Hill's torso also. :cry_sad:

Were they for sale somewhere? Taobao maybe?

That Maria Hill torso is the only unique thing about the figure so if it's possible to pick them up that would be great.

Yeah, appears to be a weeping angel torso... given the crack on the clothes and colour. Guess Doctor Who will get Lego sets probably in Winter.

That's the statue from the hobbit dol guldur set.

Not sure why it'd be included in a bunch of 2015 release torso's... but shall take your word on it then

Eh, just noticed it was from the Hobbit sets. Anyways, I really like that they made MCU variants of the characters in the Helicarrier. Though some variations would be nice like a purple Hawkeye would be cool. But I can't complain when I'm already impressed with the set.

Check out this picture of Ant-Man, not sure if its a custom. If its true, a great minifigure to have.

That's definitely a custom. LEGO wouldn't put that much detail onto a super hero that virtually no kids know about. Of course, I could be wrong. Time will tell

Trickster and a bunch of other lesser known DC villains are super detailed. Antman at least has a movie coming out so people and children will know him. Plus if he's getting a set, chances are Lego will put in a decent amount of effort, especially if Disney is really trying to market this character.

Personally I think the fig looks believable but the ant he's on doesn't appear to be a Lego of any kind. Maybe it was a poster at the toy fair thing and someone snuck a pic? I'd love it that's how our antman fig will look.

Do people buy $350 sets just for certain parts?

You'd probably be surprised.
