Yay. For those jazzed about the Helicarrier, congrats!

For those that think it's a ridiculous UCS build with next to no play features, and that Lego and Marvel wasted an opportunity to provide fans with the perfect X-Mansion, lo-ho-ho-ho-ded with minifigures and play features, I feel your pain.

The UCS Helicarrier is NOT connected to the Ideas X-Mansion in any way. Even if it was, the Helicarrier was more realisticly likely to be made because they kept trimming down the size when they released that Lego were not going to make a massive set.

The X-Mansion, was NEVER going to be made. Same situation with the Wayne Manor. The piece count alone for the X-Mansion is probably in the region of 7000+ pieces and it includes over 40 figures, many exclusive, which would make it worth more than the Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon, putting the price around $999.99 AT MINIMUM.

Despite Lego not officially stating it... we will NEVER get a UCS Ideas set, closest we might get to a UCS Ideas set is a modular set for a non-licensed theme.

Never say never... :P

But really, he wasn't just talking about the Ideas project. As far as I can tell, anyways, he just meant that if Lego was gunna make a $350 UCS Marvel set, it should have been the X-Mansion. I can't say I agree, as I'm mostly Spidey/Avengers-centric in my Super-Hero love, but don't get me wrong--I like just about any super-heroes, and an X-Mansion sounds pretty sweet. If they're going to continue making X-men sets, I'd much rather get a buttload of mutants all at once rather than getting a new Magneto/Wolverine every year with the two or three max other mutants.

Of course Lego would never have produced an X-Mansion consisting of 7000 bricks. However, it could have been whittled down into something more manageable that still maintained the essence of the set, just like the Helicarrier. Somehow, Lego was able to do this before as well: The Death Star. Considering how quickly The X-Mansion reached 10k supporters, obviously there's a demand for it.

We are not even getting any kind of X Men set this year where as we are getting 6 avengers sets, you have to think about what lego and marvel plans are for the line the x mansion was always very very unlikely no matter how much we might like it.

It seems like we'll get an X-Men set every two years. Next year is going to be a big year for the movies, as there's two films coming out for the universe, so I'd imagine LEGO would want to put out a comic set.

Even though it sucks that we barely get any Xmen sets, I guess the good thing about Lego not directly promoting the Fox movies is that we'll only get comic versions instead of their horrid movie costumes.

Well, MARVEL killed off Wolverine (IMO a clear middle finger to FOX), so this dispute looks like it will be lasting a while.

I doubt that he won't be ressurected after Secret Wars, fans would middle finger Marvel if not.

That and of course, most Wolverine fans haven't ever picked up a comic book. If only comic book fans went to comic book films, the films would bomb.

The Ideas contributors that submit extremely large sets won't get anything developed. After all, anyone can come up with the general notion of a set like "X-Mansion" but the submission is to be more specific such as unique design builds.

These massive submissions incredible MOCs, ones that I would drive a hundred miles to see on display, but they are not feasible sets. I am such the construction techniques between a 7000 version helicarrier are not very similar to the one for a 1500 piece version. The over all look may be similar though, but it wasn't LEGO or the Ideas contributor that come up with it. It was Marvel.

Wha-huh? Apocalypse and what? Is Gambit coming that soon? Deadpool?

Makes sense if we get a X-Men set it'll probably be something akin to 76028 Darkseid Invasion where we get a big fig Apocalypse, the X-Jet and a couple of the main cast.

I can easily see them giving us a comic based Darkseid in 2015, A movie or comic based Apocalypse in 2016, a movie based Darkseid variant in 2017 and 2019 and a movie variation of Thanos in 2018 and 2019

I know this is a little too far ahead, but just think about what the Infinity War sets will look like. There's going to be like 12 sets or something

I was unaware comics were still being produced. I didn't know there was still a market for them after the whole '90s fiasco.

With that said, I like the characters. The movie storylines are hit/miss, but the characters are neat in and of themselves. So to see them in LEGO form, I call it a win. If it has to take a crappy movie, I'll be okay with it. I always wait to rent the movies, so it doesn't change my life at all what happens.

It was funny on Arrested Development when they kept having license problems with Fantastic 4..probably joking about how the real licensing problems are between the companies.

... :3 Though it sounds like the team will be entirely different, so it probably won't be like, the current MCU Avengers plus everyone. And it's two movies.

I didn't know Deadpool was going through that fast ^_^ I know it'll prolly be an R-rated movie, but maaaaaybe Lego will throw him in if they make an Apocalypse set? Please? I was about to buy the helicopter set and I went back a week later and it was gone and now he's so expensive... :(

Erm, wait, 2015. Right... Is it bad that I'm running out of discussion for this year? Can we start a thread for the next half-decade? O:D
