Ultron Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 About the Rhino mech, there is other precedent. I remember reading a Spider-man comic that had a second Rhino in a mech suit. The original Rhino had retired from crime, but suited up to fight the new guy. The writers of the movie script appear to have taken an element from the comic and used it in a different way. Lego made a set that related to the movie in one way, but the rest of the set was clearly from the comic. Overlapping divergence is what I believe has happened in the design of this set. I agree, but I'm just saying, if it had been classic Rhino in ASM2, I highly doubt we'd be seeing a mech. Quote
Scarilian Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) Thoughts after 'The Brick Show review' - Set really needs power functions to be worth the price tag - Removing the upper runway is disappointing as the 'hangar' is just empty Is the Helicarrier out for VIPs? The Brick Show got it... He gets them directly from Lego as 'review copies' I agree, but I'm just saying, if it had been classic Rhino in ASM2, I highly doubt we'd be seeing a mech. I believe the set is based on the Ultimate Spider-man TV version, not the movie version Edited February 10, 2015 by Scarilian Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Yeah the USM version where he's a human rhino mutant. He's probably a brick built character like Groot, but built kinda like a mech. I remember I posted a pic of the USM version, and The Kid said it looked like that. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I'd like some more details on Ant-Man rather than a picture, but I've got to see the final versions of those Spider-Man sets! On topic of the AoU Hawkeye, why does he have no quiver on his back? Booooool!!!!!!' They really ought to make a new quiver mold for guys like him. Green Arrow, Hawkeye...um...other Hawkeye? Anybody they can use that modern bow for, anyway. It would be especially nice for the first Avengers Hawkeye, who could use a little detail like that. Maybe one day he'll have one in an Avengers Assemble set. Say, why haven't we gotten an Avengers Assemble Hawkeye yet? His design in that is different and cool and him and Black Widow are the only ones yet to be in a cartoon-based set. Yeah the USM version where he's a human rhino mutant. He's probably a brick built character like Groot, but built kinda like a mech. I remember I posted a pic of the USM version, and The Kid said it looked like that. They did say that it looked surprisingly "organic". Hm... Quote
legofreak86 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 WOW, black widow's hairpiece is far better in the final set, far less stuck out at sides and far more accurate to the two films, i like the look in the back of the instruction manual at the AOU stuff and i think thats our first clear up close (non drawn) look at the final ultron figure, which looks awesome! One thing though, on closer look at the official images, Ultron's helmet is printed with the lines and markings that appear in the lego magazine comic and judging by that torso i'd say this is the version that claims "There are no strongs on me" or the main version in the trailer. Its almost a dead ringer for this: http://imageserver.moviepilot.com/even-more-awesome-age-of-ultron-promo-art-87921db6-392d-45c7-a503-002a9d6503f4.jpeg?width=1054&height=1641 however still no idea which version "Ultron Prime" is based on i'm gonna guess it might be the entertainment weekly cover but with circle eyes as it soesn't have the final ones round head. Ultron Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) It's weird that Hawkeye doesn't even have a printed quiver this time...so what, is he just supposed to fire one arrow and then give up? Edited February 11, 2015 by Ultron Quote
jtslimshady Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I like that he doesn't have a quiver. If we put an actual lego quiver it looks better than the printed one. Quote

DarkKnight7 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I think I liked the Hellicarrier set a bit better after seeing that review...but still a no go for me. I will get the figs off Bricklink, but that's it...too much money for that. I know it was going to be impossible to have a minifig scale bridge in there...but that would have sold it for me. Microfigs...meh. I applaud the attempt...but meh. Quote

Microfigs...meh. I applaud the attempt...but meh. This is my thinking as well. This set feels more like a UCS "lite". Microfigs and microbuilds are kind of "meh" for me. I'll be skipping this set and will be Bricklink-ing all of the figs at some point. My main gripes about the main figs: 1) No leg printing on Cap or Maria Hill, 2) the torso / leg design on Fury seems odd -- kind of fugly if I had to be totally brutal, 3) would have been nice to get the Shield logo on Black Widow's arms like Maria Hill does (not sure if I had missed it, but doesn't seem like it does), 4) Natasha's head is still not good / looks nothing like ScarJo. The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Not me personally, just something I've heard I a lot of people say... ... ... Who haven't read is motherf******* awesome comic series. No, I love Hawkeye, but the chance to taunt a hero is too good to pass up. Quote
legofreak86 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) Nope, the prime one is the one he posted. The EW cover has a completely diferent chest. Impossible, the Ultron Prime figure's chest doesn't match the picture I posted, its the wrong shade of sliver, the markings on the head are not the same, the armour printing on the torso the plates look different. I suspect this is neither of those ultrons. I think this may be a middle ultron. Like after the prototype his first full form, then when he upgrades to ultimate ultron his strength is at its fullest as is his design. Lego must've just got names mixed up cause it appears the most prominment version is called "Ultron Prime" http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/02/11/hot-toys-shows-off-ultron-prime-2683248?lt_source=external,manual Its odd though as some of the ultron orime figure matches this one but some of it doesn't and some of the Ultimate one matches this one and some of it doesn't. Its a bit perplexing really AH HA! another piece of the puzzle, the drones have the similar torso torso as the Ultron prime figure and are the same colour suggesting that all four are based on the EW cover versions, as that's the only blue drones and red Ultron styled like that we have seen. plus you can't see the EW cover's ultron torso so it doesn't necessarily share the same design as the drones, like the figure it could be slightly different as we can only see where the plating connects at the top and the basic idea that its not fully plated and dark silver which matches the Ultron Prime figure as he has a lot of exposed panels, compared to the final ultron which is assume that hot toys figure is the basis of. I reckon as I say lego got the name tags mixed up. In fact if you look closely on the Ew picture: http://rack.2.mshcdn.com/media/ZgkyMDE0LzA3LzIyLzU1L0F2ZW5nZXJzLkFnLjg2YTQ3LmpwZwpwCXRodW1iCTk1MHg1MzQjCmUJanBn/895155f1/399/Avengers.Age_.Of_.Ultron.HP_.jpg you can see the red discs meeting in the middle of the upper chest like the lego dark sliver version. The first variation of Ultron is either the one we have at the Hulkbuster Smash or the variation from Attack On Avengers Tower. Most likely the following; - Ultron's computer chip is found and implanted into a drone - The drone witnesses the Hulkbuster fight (Ultron Prime) - Ultron is damaged in the battle and rebuilds himself and attacks the Avengers (Ultron Mk1) - Ultron upgrades himself with Vibranium (Ultimate Ultron) ... What? I think he's implying that once Hawkeye is out of Arrow's he is kind of useless... I'm so excited for Toy Fair! i hope we get to see some good vids and pics from the sets, We probably should i believe 'TheBrickFan' is covering it this weekend Quote
jasonwyngard Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I think he's implying that once Hawkeye is out of Arrow's he is kind of useless... Actually he's not. He was trained by the swordsman, and he became an expert martial artist and acrobat. He's also led the avengers. But the mcu version doesn't have those skills so he looks really lame. Quote
Jay_Em Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) Well this is interesting Looks like Amazon is sending out Age of Ultron sets. Did anyone guess 'mid-February' for the release date? I certainly didn't.... Edited February 11, 2015 by Jay_Em Quote
KingDom Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Well this is interesting Looks like Amazon is sending out Age of Ultron sets. Did anyone guess 'mid-February' for the release date? I certainly didn't.... Well now I'm pretty disappointed that my UK estimated delivery for that set is March 3rd best case scenario. I also feel like the Brick Show getting the helicarrier early has dampened my hype at getting it as my first day one exclusive purchase. Oh well, hopefully one wave soon I'll get my hands on a set before some lucky youtuber. At least us Brits get to see the actual movie first! Quote

Did anyone guess 'mid-February' for the release date? I certainly didn't.... Well, technically they are not being officially released until March. I guess Amazon has to deliver on what has been paid for though, such as the items are on sale at the moment. In addition - ordered the Avengers Tower the other night, so that may arrive before March also :3 Quote

bricksnator Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Sure enough, I see two Age of Ultron sets on Amazon: Iron Man vs Ultron ($12.99) Attack on Avengers Tower ($59.99 -- 6 left in stock) Curious that they only have two... Quote
SMC Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Iron Man vs Ultron is a great amy builder, night have to think about getting a few. Quote
Steph 104th Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Iron Man vs Ulron is a must have for me, simply for the suit, by far my favourite Iron Man armour thus far. Quote
