DJ Bricks Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 You're most excited for the Hydra Fortress? He's madly in love with Quicksilver. Quote
K-Nut Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 That Ant Man set looks amazing. The figures themselves are awesome with their new molded helmets and prints, and even though there's no Wasp, I'll gladly take Black Ant over her if he looks that good. Nice to see that Spidey is getting boots, though I may be giving those to Superman now. That might be the only reason I get the set, seeing as I was going to pick up Iron Spiderman in the aftermarket. The Carnage set looks great too, even though there's no Coulson. Can't tell what stole the show, though; The Ant Man set or the Green Goblin figure. Quote
Robert8 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I can't' believe they showed Ant Man Final Duel.... Spoiler much? Quote
kevkipo Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 He's madly in love with Quicksilver. Also is Rhino and the fig inside based on the Ultimate comics form? Because the bald guy and suit itself do match anything else. Hey, i'm still straight you know His minifig just looks really awesome Quote
K-Nut Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I can't' believe they showed Ant Man Final Duel.... Spoiler much? I'm looking at it as that Hank Pym just suits up at some point in the movie. Whatever reason, who knows. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I have to say I'm disappointed in the Green Goblin minifigure. This just absolutely terrible leg printing just ruins it. Why does he have skirt printing rather than boot printing? Especially since the two mold boot printing is a new feature this wave! It makes no sense whatsoever. I honestly have no idea what is going through the designers heads when they make plainly stupid ideas like this. Why!? Quote
Ceroknight Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 The Carnage set looks awesome as does the Antman set, the Sandman set I don't really care for, though Iron Spider looks fantastic! Quote
MarvinM Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Spidey in the goblin set does not have leg printing :/ do you guys think this could Change or not? (Also saw the same problem with batman's boot printing in the Jokerland set but lack-there-off in the Deathstroke set) Edited February 14, 2015 by MarvinM Quote
Cammo Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Here you can compare the size of some of these sets. Just to give you guys a better idea how big/small some of these are: The ant is almost as big as the Quinjet ! Full synopsis coverage: Edited February 14, 2015 by Cammo Quote
Jay_Em Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 FBTB has photos up. It shows that the Quinjet has a compartment for the motorcycle behind the cockpit, but annoyingly they didn't photograph the rear, which looked as though it has an opening hatch in other images. Either way, the Quinjet looks fantastic. Quote
MarvinM Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I love the translense Designs On the ant-man set! Hopefully they all come with their hairs (this seems to become protocol for the newer sets) (ex. Iron Man hair piece in the Avengers tower and other stuff like that (starlord, wolverine, magneto, etc) Quote

Hopefully they all come with their hairs (this seems to become protocol for the newer sets) (ex. Iron Man hair piece in the Avengers tower and other stuff like that (starlord, wolverine, magneto, etc) Looking at the video it doesn't look like any Ant-Man figs get hair. They had Tony's in the extra pieces on display for the tower but nothing for the Ant-Man set. Quote
Zergos Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Wow, all the summer sets look so great! Especially the ant man set. Those helmets got me like  . So beautiful. Quote
Steph 104th Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Oh how I love NYTF! Iron Spider looks amazing, and Carnage is awesome. Quote

The_Chosen_1 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 WOW!!!!!!!!! I'm definitely blown away by the Marvel sets. They're much better than I was expecting, to be honest (probably because most characters don't seem to be too heavily based on their cartoon counterparts). Only disappointments for me are the lame Rhino mech, and no "micro fig" Ant-Man. But that's really nitpicking... Quote
strangely Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Kind of a mixed bag for me. Sandman, Carnage and Rhino are all awesome and I'm going to have to buy them immediately. Iron Spider and Miles Morales are awesome to. New Spider-man suffers from "new hat" syndrome. Boots really don't make up for that tired old print and I'm disappointed that Lego has done this to us once again. The Juniors set looks awful and the only reason I want it is for the Green Goblin. Unfortunately the Goblin doesn't wow me by any means. He looks fine, but ultimately he's a little phoned in. The legs are terrifically lazy. They really should have given him purple legs with the green printed on so that he could have boots. I like his torso and face though. I'm looking forward to seeing if he has an alternate face. I will say all the builds are pretty good. Ant-man bores me though, but I'll get it for the minifigures at least. Quote
natwilsc Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 The Good: The Ant-Man set is my favorite and is put together quite cleverly. The Bad: I wish the Ant-Man set had a statue sized Ant-Man for use in displays and MOC's where everyone else is large sized, I'm really surprised they didn't include one since they are already printing them for the Helicarrier and all. The Ugly: The Rhino mech is pretty bad in my opinion, would have been willing to buy the full set if the Rhino was at least okay. Might look into building my own at this point. Also not a fan of Green Goblin's glider although that is easy enough to build anew but it is cool it fires disks. Also wondering if he will look weird if you put a proper satchel over his printed strap. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Factoring all these new sets (AoU, Ant Man etc), we've done very well. Some obvious duds but every set has atleast something and, focussing as I do on the figures, we've got some classics - Carnage is better than we could have ever hoped for Quote
KingDom Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Not sure what you guys think but I have a theory that the Ant-Man set will actually have micro figures. Firstly it isn't out until June so there's it's entirely possible that they weren't ready. Secondly the set contains regular versions of the two lego pieces and even two 'minifig scale' ants. So why would they be included if there weren't micro figures to go with them? Quote
Kire Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Childish Gambino would be proud he has his own minifigure now. ;) Quote
Neomars Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 The sets are definitely better than we thought from the prelims (let's take a note of that and try not to freak out next time we see blurry pictures of unfinished box art). Carnage looks amazing and has arm-printing. Now we have a generic body for SHIELD agents so that's a plus (fingers crossed for Coulson in the near future still). Miles also looks great, I'm just happy we are finally getting more variants of the Spider mantel. Plus the small build is great for $13. Sandman and Rhino set is alright. Similar to the first SM set with Dock-Ock. Lots of play features but not much setting. Iron Spider looks cool. Seems to have a lack of color but that's just because it gets a lot of shading in the comics to make it look metalic and LEGO can't do much about that. Don't care for the reprint Spidey but the dual-colored legs will be great for Superman. Sandman is alright, I could have done without the sand on his shirt but eh, and will have to buy the extra arm and hand being that one is all sand colored. I actually really dig the Rhino suit. I don't think it's 100% based on anything but takes majorly from TASM2 with it being a Mech and the minifig looking like Paul Giamati. Goblin sadly isn't exactly like the video game version but looks better than Abomination Ultimate Green Goblin. Will have to make his glider from the game version however because that version is the best so far. Hopefully he won't be too expensive seeing that he is the only fig I will Bricklink. Quote
