adotnamedstud Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 On the sub-topic of a new GotG line, who'd be willing to petition for these sets? Star Lord vs The Sakaarans ($20) Features a muddy Star-Lord, a Sakaaran and Korath. An opening for the temple which collapses rocks and another Sakarran turret and ship. The Kyln Escape ($50) Features a yellow Drax, Gamora, Minifig scaled Groot and 2 Guards. The build is the Warden Office which detaches from the tower and then some tables which can break in half, and a small cell which connects to the side of the tower. Rocket's Warbird ($75) Features Red Rocket Raccoon, Battle Damaged Star-Lord, Yondu, and Garthan Saal. The build is obviously the Warbird and a Star Blaster. The Warbird also features a "Baby Groot" as we now call him. I'll be more than willing to start a petition for a second GotG wave Back to the main topic. I'm really interested in the AoU sets. 5 Sets!? That's crazy but I love it. I can't wait to see all the Avengers we get Quote
hollisbrick Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Any news on what kinda figs we'll be getting? Quote
just2good Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Any news on what kinda figs we'll be getting? Nope, as 'Hulk_Smash' said he has only seen the box placeholders for the set. Quote
SMC Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 5 sets sounds good to me, a sign the line is getting bigger or just that this is a big film Quote
Legoman123 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Hulk_Smash did the tall box look like it could be tall enough for the Avengers Tower or just tall enough for Hulkbuster? Quote

I loved the GotG sets, the Milano is an even better starship than the Star Wars line. I went from LOTR/Hobbit to Star Wars and now I chose the Milano Rescue over any of the Summer SW sets. I would buy more gotg sets in a heartbeat. It may also be my door into more Lego Marvel. Quote

I'll be more than willing to start a petition for a second GotG wave A petition would be pointless. LEGO knows what it's doing. Even if a few thousand people signed, it wouldn't actually change their minds. Quote
LMB10 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I doubt we'd see any more Guardians see until 2017, unless their animated show gets some sets. There's other characters that deserve them more Quote
Pulp Detective Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 So no Xmen sets next year huh?Well I hope we get a set when Xmen Apocalypse is out. Quote

I can't wait to see all the Avengers we get Quit living in the past yo, GotG is good and the wave we got was pretty spot on accurate in the movie, I really don't think a second wave is necessary to petition for otherwise with the release of another wave of sets before the AoU, it will probably delay the AoU sets. Besides just wait till 2017 when the second GotG comes out. Quote
wesker Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 So no Xmen sets next year huh?Well I hope we get a set when Xmen Apocalypse is out. One set isn't enough. We should at least get two if we're forced to wait every two years for more X-Men. The next movie is bringing in a lot of fan favourites too like Jean, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Mystique and Apocalypse. I'd hate to miss out on those characters in favour for ones we already own. Quote
Borex Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 So no Xmen sets next year huh?Well I hope we get a set when Xmen Apocalypse is out. There are more waves than one in a year. So there is always a chance of seeing a x-men set later on next year Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Hulk_Smash did the tall box look like it could be tall enough for the Avengers Tower or just tall enough for Hulkbuster? Well it was taller then the rest, so it could be Avengers Tower. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Hulk_Smash where there any GotG sets? Quote
Ultron Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Hulk_Smash so was the taller set box also pretty wide? Or more like the lex luthor set size? Quote
Sir Gareth Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) The new orc hairpiece suggests a White Tiger minifig. I'm thinking maybe an Ultimate Spiderman set with her and an Avengers Assemble set with Ant-man both in January. Edited August 24, 2014 by Wildspeaker Quote

I can't wait to see all the Avengers we get Lego has contracts that would prevent them from doing so, a petition would have no effect whatsoever. So no Xmen sets next year huh?Well I hope we get a set when Xmen Apocalypse is out. Marvel has stopped production on most X-men and Fantastic Four products in a bid to retrieve movie rights for the franchises. They call the shots, so they won't be telling Lego to make any new sets for X-men any time soon. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Just something I thought I'd throw in about X-Men and FF sets: apparently the reason Marvel's so mad at them right now all of a sudden is Marvel asked if they could have Galactus and Silver Surfer back for Avengers movies and they said no. Edited August 24, 2014 by Tolkien Quote
elederberg Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 So if that tall box is Avengers Tower than is it possible that it could be an exclusive? Or is that not a possibility since they don't release exclusives in catalogs and if it isn't an exclusive do you guys think that it cost $119.99 like the big Ninjago sets so that they could make it large enough? Quote
Sir Gareth Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Really hoping the tall box is Avengers Tower. Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I'm so glad it sounds like we're gonna get Avengers Tower!!! All the minifigs I think we will get are: Ironman Mark 43 Hulkbuster Suit Hulk Black Widow Better Hawkeye New Captain America with arm print Thor Quicksilver Scarlett Witch Vision Rhodey (Iron Patriot or new War Machine) Nick Fury Hopefully Maria Hill Bruce Banner? Baron Von Strucker Maybe Hydra Agents Ultron Foot Soldiers Ultron Quote
sander1992 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) A lot of minifigs. The Avenger wave of 2012 had only 10 minifigures. We can always hope for more minifigs. Edited August 24, 2014 by sander1992 Quote
