Quicksilver Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Sadly, none of my stores have the sets. And even worse, each store said they're not even getting word on when they're arriving until LATE APRIL. And I live in the US. Fun. What? I already got the Hydra Fortress from ToysRUs and the woman said that they couldn't put the new sets out until March 1st. An employee at Walmart had the exact same release date of March 1st and countless others on This forum can confirm that the street date is March 1st. Ethier the employee at your store you asked is uninformed or can't say anything about the sets. Quote
teletraanconvoy Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 After seeing all the Avenger sets, I am slightly disappointed in them. Nothing is really grabbing me. Looking forward to the summer Spiderman sets. Quote

I called my TRU today, they said they still didn't have the sets but said they were supposed to be getting them by March 1st although he didn't seem all that confident. Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 The Hulkbuster Smash set has been taken down on Amazon...got in under the wire again . Quote
kevkipo Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 i know that every Lego Store has it this Sunday? i'm going on Monday The sets ARE out at Toys"R"Us! Here's a look at the Hydra Smash set, a Toys"R"Us exclusive. Alright, so, this set is pretty good. I love the minifigure selection. Baron and Quicksilver- the two exclusives- really stand out as some great minifigures. The fortress build has a great front, but the inside is REALLY lacking and makes the whole build a facade. While the tank has a decent play feature, it's a pretty awkward looking build. Not sure if this one is the best deal for $50 USD. Thanks J2G! your reviews always make me want the set even more (and more and more) Quote
Quicksilver Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 So. Do we have definite worst and best minifigures for the AOU wave? I'd have to say Quicksilver is the best and The New Thor is the worst. Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Black Widow is the best and most improved, most of the others are great, too. I can't say a "worst", but I do like the HYDRA figs less due to being uninteresting. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) So. Do we have definite worst and best minifigures for the AOU wave? I'd have to say Quicksilver is the best and The New Thor is the worst. hulk is the best for me. Worst new Thor. I think they designed him right before they went to lunch. No accurate hairpiece, or leg printing. Arms being metallic are nice but to dark. Edited February 25, 2015 by DJ Bricks Quote
kevkipo Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 for me Quicksilver is the best, (off course ) I also do like the new Thor and Hawkeye. The worst for me is Ultron mk1, not because he is not well designed but i just dont like him. Quote
Super Goblin Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) If you guys haven't picked up the Milano yet you need to hurry. It is being clearanced out at Walmart for $35. Edited February 25, 2015 by Super Goblin Quote
Ultron Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 So. Do we have definite worst and best minifigures for the AOU wave? Worst is the hydra soldiers for me. Would've preferred leg printing, a double sided head with an actual face, and a less lazy hairpiece. Thor is disappointing as well. Tired of the hideous butter hair that doesn't match is beard and no leg printing. Best go to Vision, Black Widow, Ultimate Ultron and Ultron mk 1. Honorable mention: Hawkeye for his fixed hairpiece The worst for me is Ultron mk1, not because he is not well designed but i just dont like him. Bias Quote

Anyway I hope they can be released officially on 1 march worldwide. I want to complete the hulkbuster before my new job starts on next monday :P Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Just based on looks, I love what they've done with Cap. Much better detail. I also like that they did with Widow. I am not quite sold on Hawkeye. Different hair mold doesn't make up for the lack (again) of a quiver. Thor really needs gold on his armor in front. That's my main problem with him; everything else works for me. The detail on Iron Man keeps getting better and better, particularly on the Mark 45. I realize they had to make the Hulk mold modular, to make it easier for Big Figs in the future, but the lines are a bit off-putting. Vision may end up taking it, though. He looks incredible. Quote
Quicksilver Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 If you guys haven't picked up the Milano yet you need to hurry. It is being clearanced out at Walmart for $35. Holy Crash. That is cheap. Quote
K-Nut Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Worst I'd say goes to the Hydra Henchman for obvious reasons. I don't think any figures are terrible, but they pail in comparison to the likes of others. I personally am not a fan of Hulk, but I applaud the attempt so that we can get more bigfigs. Thors lack of leg printing is a little off putting, but his new face makes up for it. For me, there is no best figure. Vision, Ultimate Ultron, Black Widow, Hawkeye, the Ultron Drone, and the Mark 45 armor are all great. Quote
JaseTJ Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Wait, am I the only one who thinks Black Widow's new hairpiece looks crappy? o.O I intend to just give her Boromir's like I did with the 'fig from the first wave... Quote

Really? I think Boromir's would be much worse than either of her hairpieces. (Ironic as it is, Natasha does not have a widow's peak.) The new piece is really quite accurate, albeit a bit smoother than the movie. Edited February 25, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote
K-Nut Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Not having leg printing on Cap and Thor nowadays is almost inexcusable. The thing is, what leg printing will they give cap? I got mine and can't find a replacement that looks good with the rest of the fig. Thor and Quicksilver on the other hand, could've both used leg printing, but there's good substitute prints to use. Zilcho Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) I don't like the ultrons very much. They should have got a special head mould, the hat/neck piece combination doesn't look right to me. The worst is the Ultron in the hulk buster set - he just looks silly. My favourite is probably any of the avengers - they all look really good. Edited February 25, 2015 by Zilcho Quote
SMC Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 If you guys haven't picked up the Milano yet you need to hurry. It is being clearanced out at Walmart for $35. Wow cheap, built it the other day and it is one of the best (Top 3 for sure) normal super hero sets to date. Quote

Jay_Em Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Vision, Black Widow and Cap all look perfect to me. They're also all in the Quinjet. Wonder which set I'll be getting... Quote

TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Not having leg printing on Cap and Thor nowadays is almost inexcusable. It's unforgiveably lazy. The designers can hardly claim they were giving it their all - and when you don't even need to come up with an original design either... Quote
