BrickSev Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I am not complaining, as Iron Man is my favorite character. But, the love could have been spread around a bit. I agree with you on that point. Variety is always welcome. It seems certain themes are specific characters-centric. Iron Man in the Avengers sets and Batman in the DC sets, for example. Let's hope we'll see more Marvel characters in future sets Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Yeah, I guess I should have been more specific. The Helicarrier exclusives are around that range. Damn. I would really like Maria Hill and the Cap variant, but that's too steep. Quote
wilson3a10 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Hydra Showdown is bad bad bad set here in this wave. Quote
Quicksilver Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Damn. I would really like Maria Hill and the Cap variant, but that's too steep. The Cap Variant is the same legs and torso as in the Quinjet and Fortress sets, the hair is Star-Lord's and the Face is the new Obi wan Kenobi from the 2014 MTT Hydra Showdown is bad bad bad set here in this wave. Yeah. There is almost no Play features not including the Super Jumper, all the Minifigures are in other sets and the jeep is pretty bad. But, if you aren't buying the Helicarrier having Hawkeye in this set is a plus. Also the Hydra Veichle is pretty nice, but regardless it is a pretty weak set. Quote

I guess that really leaves Maria Hill and Nick Fury as the figs which will still command a relatively higher price. Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Consensus is that Hydra Fortress Showdown is by far the worst set, boring minifigs, even its exlusives are pretty boring (Quicksilver lacks leg printing) and the Fortress looks like something out a Juniors set, and the tank could look cool but is ruined by the play feature and the huge hero factory weapon. The icing on the shitcake is the price, it's ridicolous. Now the best set is harder to pick. However I do think it's the Hulkbuster. A great mech, AND a bigfig hulk AND two exclusive characters AND 250 pieces for 30 bucks? Sweet! However the Quinjet looks great and also has demanding minifigs, and the Iron Man vs Ultron is a great armybuilder with 3 identical minifigs and an exclusive Iron Man. Quote

Also, the Hair on Maria Hill is pretty common, The head is Wonder Woman's (?) and the Legs are Also common. Just the torso is Exclusive essentially. Quote
kevkipo Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Hydra Showdown is bad bad bad set here in this wave. I have to agree, i bought it for Hawkeye and Thor. the Hydra vehicle is neat but for the rest its meh Now the best set is harder to pick. However I do think it's the Hulkbuster. I can't choose really, multiple sets are great. Hulkbuster is a bit expensive here but for the rest it's good, Quinjet looks very movie accurate so... It's hard to choose Quote
kevkipo Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Are the sets available in the UK yet? I believe they are yes? So the guys at Marvel are holding a contest, the more people who tweet #AvengersAssemble the faster we get the trailer online Quote
Ultron Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Am I the only one who absolutely hates when Lego reuses faces for licensed figs? I hate hate hate that they reused Supergirl for SW. The red eyes work but NOT the other side. And really? For $350, let me repeat that, $350, they couldn't have given Maria Hill and Steve Rogers their own faces? That pisses me off to no end. The new Obi Wan minifigures are around $10, so I easily grab that and another hairpiece. Quote

Well in fact it's is irritating. For that price I too expect "totally exclusive" Minifigures. On a side note, Supergirl also comes with the annoying hairpiece that prevents the headpiece's movement. I bought the Brainiac set because a very special friend is a Supergirl fan and I want to make a little diorama for her but I'm thinking to change hairpiece with the "blond hairpiece" from the research institute. Still long, blond hair Quote

That bothers me too, but not as much as some of the blatant mistakes they make with hair and face choices (2012 Hawkeye, 2012 Widow, Helicarrier Cap). Quote
Jay_Em Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I do quite like the Hydra Showdown. Thor is finally in an inexpensive set, we have a good version of Hawkeye, and the vehicles at least have some good parts. Plus you get two so there's good playability. For the price I don't think you can complain too much. Quote

Quicksilver Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I think that way too, The Avengers truck is even in the trailer! as is that groupshot Yeah now, that it is movie accurate it is good. Also, Quicksilver vs Cap. Whoo! But where the ---- is Vision in that final shot!? Also is that the Mk 45 Armor right near the end of the trailer? Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Oh boy do they know how to make a marvel fan shriek! The ending with the Ultron drones, makes me wanna get dozens of battle packs! Quote

legofreak86 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 OMGGG *snip* Now we finally know where ultimate ultron is from, Ultron prime is the one earlier in the trailer whereas Ultimate Ultron from the colour and markings is clearly that one fighting cap on the truck and then laughing and hovering near the end, my guess is thats the final battle, looks super sweet i must say! Quote
Quicksilver Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Wait... Is Ultron stealing Iron Man? In the shot where the Shield falls of the Truck there is an Iron Man suit standing there. So, is Ultron stealing the Iron Man suit to create Vision? That would line up pretty well with the Lego set as Iron Man, Widow and Cap are chasing Ultron on a Truck. And if all this info lines up does that mean the Ultron on the Truck is Ultimate Ultron? Quote
