cullmancreations Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 What sets are any of you guys planning on picking up with the winter soldier promotion? Quote
LegoPercyJ Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Hulkbuster, Iron Man Vs. Ultron, Spider Trike (For Electro), Captain America Vs Red Skull. All that is $75.96. Just over $75. Quote
cullmancreations Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Nice. I cant decide if I want to just get the Quinjet or get the hulk hulk buster and raptor rampage set. I like the old quinjet so I really cant decide Quote

Ultron Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 What sets are any of you guys planning on picking up with the winter soldier promotion? Antman, another Iron Man vs Ultron, maybe some Star Wars sets. If not, maybe another Avengers tower. Quote
wilson3a10 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Because of this antman set, i need to buy a big thomas the tank engine toy to recreate the funny scene.... Quote
Robianco Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 So are the Antman and Spiderman sets due on June 1st for the promotion? I'm in the UK so I'm not sure if it'll run here but I picked up WS with a Hellicarrier anyway... I'm still kind of hoping that we get Electro somehow although that may just be limited to TRU. We always get the promo figure so if we're not getting WS then I'm lost for who it might be. Sorry if it's an obvious question but I just wondered if the whole summer wave including the DC sets are due on 1st? Quote
Savage Oppress Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) Ant-Man set has to be released in June 2015, since the movie comes out in July 2015. Edited April 29, 2015 by Savage Oppress Quote
Marvel_Geek Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 From what I've been told the antman set comes out june 1st while the Spiderman sets come out August 1st. Quote

BrickSev Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 It may be worth noting that Lego designers have limitations like parts count, usage, stability, and age ranges. I don't think it's fair to compare the offical version with custom ones, to just act like the offical version is absolute crap (I cannot recall these same thoughts before the set came out, only after when the excessive Mod versions started rolling in)--because as we know, 9.9 times out of 10, the custom is always going to be better looking since the builders do not have the limitations the designers do. Point being, for what we got, I think the offical Hulkbuster is amazing. It is a spectacular mech and even more spectacular considering its for a thirty dollar set. And it may not be perfect, but it's fairly accurate--especially considering what it could have been like--ala Mandarin golf cart. I'm aware of the designers' limitations; in fact I never complain because the sets they designs have a less quality than MOCs or modifications Even I like the Hulkbuster set a lot. I never complained about it lol I only wish it had a rotating torso: it wouldn't have been too difficult to obtain it. The old Lex Luthor's mech, for example, had this function. Or at least a rotating head. Sometimes it's difficult to set scenes for comics (or Brickfilms) when you actually need to orientate the head toward a specific point. Anyway I still consider it a truly wonderful set Quote
wilson3a10 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I am willing to pay more for a rotating head. Quote

Krikkit Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Rotating torso was easy to implement. LEGO Hulkbuster with waist swivel modification. by kole.fitch, on Flickr Quote

TheOneVeyronian Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Not sure if anybody has noticed this yet, but from the 18th to 31st May, the UK (and presumably Europe) will be seeing the Spider Man Super Jumper polybag as a GWP on purchases over £25 (30 Euros for Europe? Not sure, just guessing). It's in the UK May store calendar here. Of course, the US version of the promo has been known for a while, but only recently it's been indicated it'll be in Europe too so I guess this is news to some Good excuse for me to spread out some of my spending I guess. Ultron Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Seems not big though :) It's a Duplo though. I think it's almost perfectly in scale. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 What sets are any of you guys planning on picking up with the winter soldier promotion? <p>I'm thinking the Brainiac set from DC, the Hydra Fortress, and another small set to make up the last $5. Quote
Robianco Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I popped into the Liverpool Lego Store this evening and had a chat with some staff... They were aware of the SW promo for May and what they'd be offering but apparently didn't have full confirmation of the SH promo in June except for saying they were aware of a Spiderman poly with Super Jumper that they thought may be the promo. I certainly hope that's not our June figure promo... That would be pretty poor compared to the WS in the U.S. Quote

I linked the UK May store calendar a few posts above, it clearly states the Super Jumper poly is 18th-31st May The question is now if we will get the Winter Soldier in June or not, particularly for those of us who couldn't afford the Helicarrier. I have a ton of purchases on the cards in June and I need a good promo polybag to soften the blow a little Quote
cullmancreations Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Ive got about $50 on my VIP card that ive been saving for over the last 5 years wonder if this is the time to start using it. And the winter soldier is definitely a june release. Also do have any of you guys in europe been spotting old sets in stores out in the middle of no where. I vacation to France some times from the US and I have spotted at stores like the La Grande recre and Maxi toys Indiana Jones sets, Speed Racers sets and the Black pearl, chum bucket...etc plus some other discontinued sets. I did kind of point out that the Spidey poly can't be counted as an exclusive figure promo but they couldn't offer any alternative to what it might be. They did have their Yularen SW figs and the posters ready for the May giveaway though. Hopefully we'll get some clarification in the next couple of weeks as to what the UK giveaway will be. Quote
legofreak86 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 That's speculation on your end and not a rumor :( I never said it was what was happening, i said it would be cool if. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Anybody else thinking about MOCing that Sand Man and Rhino set into a full on construction site using those new "Classic" tan baseplates and a few Lego City sets? I think adding a few porta potties, more sand, and perhaps a bigger structure in the middle would be pretty awesome. I think the crane looks pretty good in the set and especially love the bottom warning sticker on the white gas tank of the crane. As for the Ant-Man set, MOCing a Thomas the Tank engine to go along with the insect would be a good idea. I can't wait for some great builders to do that. For the Miles Morales set, making a MOC of the Spder-Verse television episode he first appeared in would be fun to see. Perhaps in the cemetery where he fights the Ultimate Goblin, (which can be the goblin from the spider-copter set) Also, since most of us have A LOT of the same version of Spider-Man from the sets, I always thought that someone could make a lab with Doctor Octopus or The Jackal or The Goblin based on the clone saga. (With the new Spider-Man with red boots being the main one from the comics) Just a thought. I would love to see someone make these. Edited April 30, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote
