Savage Oppress Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 When can US preorder the Ant-Man Lego Set on Amazon, since it comes out sometime in June 2015, according to Brickipedia, and the June 2015 Lego Star Wars sets can be preordered on Amazon now? Quote
mediumsnowman Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 There is a big bin in the Lego aisle of Electros in TRU Bellevue. I got three; two to keep sealed and one for myself! Quote
maxismilano Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Just watched Avengers: Age of Ultron and thought it was not the greatest, but good. However, after watching it I was very disappointed with the Vision minifigure! [spoiler=Vision!] The Vision is only on screen for about 8 minutes and the gem is wrong! I was okay in that at first because a lot of things were wrong in the first wave but this is a literal infinity stone we are talking about! It's not the end of the world but but that's an entire plot point of the movie that is changed. I'm just raging about lego! Hopefully somebody understands the emotional turmoil I am going through now! visionwrong by Maxis Milano, on Flickr Quote
Ultron Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 It's very possible we could get an updated Vision in a Civil War set if we get those. Quote

They had promo art! so it can get a little mixed up for people, and indeed that gem was blue at first sooo... i could understand Lego in this! Quote
Mandate Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Vision was in the movie for 20 to 25 minutes screen time No he wasn't. Nowhere even close to that amount. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 No he wasn't. Nowhere even close to that amount. And collectively the audience said 'thank goodness' Vision is so goofy one wonders if his inclusion (and 'festive') colour scheme where some one's attempt at irony... Quote
Ultron Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 And collectively the audience said 'thank goodness' Vision is so goofy one wonders if his inclusion (and 'festive') colour scheme where some one's attempt at irony... I honestly hope you're joking. Vision was one of the best parts of AoU. Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I honestly hope you're joking. Vision was one of the best parts of AoU. Vision stole the movie, no matter how long he was on screen for. Quote
tafkatb Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 So why is it a blue gem on vision's head Since the Mind Stone was contained inside the blue gem of Loki's staff, early concept art probably showed it being blue as well, and it might have been changed to yellow after the minifig was already designed and in production. Quote
dr_spock Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 A tiny dab of primer and yellow paint may fix the issue. Quote

Robianco Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Yea, but that just has a helmet; not a full face mask. I was answering the poster who asked specifically for the metal helmet rather than the face mask. The odd thing is the face mask has actually been produced around a year ago by the chinese bootleg market. I'm not overly keen on that one as I think the printed heads look better but seeing as Lego have never produced one it's worth looking at it you want to make a custom. Quote

Ah, I misunderstood the original comment; I thought he was looking for the full facemask. My apologies. Is this Chinese bootleg similar to the modified Flash mask that is floating around? Quote

I am guessing this is the reason why as well. They did really well this time around, comparatively to the Avengers wave, in terms of accuracy to the final product, Vision being the main exception (and Wanda's hair). Quote
deskp Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 the color of the gem isnt the main issue with vision, his torso is very wrong. Its all based on concept art. Quote

Is this Chinese bootleg similar to the modified Flash mask that is floating around? No problem... yeah.. it's very similar in shape to the Flash mask and they've produced it in both the blue variants of Cap's uniform so far. the color of the gem isnt the main issue with vision, his torso is very wrong. Its all based on concept art. I can imagine the Lego designer who put it together also gets frustrated when the final thing doesn't look like concept art. We know that some of the designers read and are part of this forum so you can imagine the frustration of knowing people will moan about the inaccuracies of your design when you've probably done a pretty good job based on what you were given. The Black Widow concept art for the first film showed that the figure was actually pretty good when compared to it. Quote

Color his a darker shade of green, fix the Mind Gem and color the top of his head green, and he is pretty much spot on. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I figured the mis-colored gem was simply a means of spoiler protection. The minifig really does bare a stronger resemblance to the concept art than the finished version, though. What a shame. Quote

Well Vision has an orange/yellow gem in the comics so if anything the blue is a spoiler Quote
KCMatze Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Exactly what I was thinking when I watched the movie Quote
BluePulse Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 the only thing that bugs me about the vision minifigure is that in the movie he like his classic outfit has a yellow diamond on his chest but the concept art and fig dont, they just has some strange design instead which to me is a fatal flaw since in my opinion the yellow diamond is like his main emblem. its like batman without his bat symbol (again in my opinion) Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I know this is the marvel thread, but which set is better the Javelin or the Avengers tower ? Quote
