Ive never seen a price drop for a $20 Lego set

I think Target in the USA had a sale recently where the Age Of Ultron sets were 20% off and the Hydra Showdown set was $15.99. Also up in Canada, the $20 sets are $25 and usually drop to $20 every once in a while.

The sandman set is $40, carnage is $13, Spiderman juniors set is $30. It is a more reasonable wave but the junior price upsets me.

Yes! I thought the Sandman was $50US! That price was going to be way to much but $40 is pretty good for that set.

I doubt they'd add a microfig this late in the game. The closest we'll see one is Civil War or Infinity War sets unless he appears in an Avengers assemble set.

Hm, 20% off is pretty good.

Carnage set just dropped through the door!may try a review for it!anyone want one?also where do I go about adding pics?

That would be much appreciated if you posted your thoughts and pictures here on the set. If you do take pictures, do you mind taking pictures of the SHIELD Soldier?

Mmm... I'm betting 50/50 on Lego making Avengers Assemble set next year. There is SO much they could do sets on (Thanos, Cartoon Ant Man, Cap Season 2 Uniform, Avenjet Prime) but with the Captain America Civil War marketing and Hype Factor in full swing in winter 2016, We'll probably be clamoring for Civil War sets over Avengers Assemble sets.

20% is a really good deal when it comes to Lego. TRU usually has 20% off sets every few months and Target and Walmart have a few specific sets on Rollback from time to time. I can testify, I picked up the Doc Ock Truck heist on Rollback for $14.99 at Walmart in October.

It's just pieces to fix the legs.

6 legs x 2 pieces for each= 12 pieces

I highly doubt micro figs, since the designed the set the way they did.

Alright. All for Stability of models over here. But when was the last time something like this happened in Lego? I can't recall if or when anything like this happened.

I wonder how long that'll take to patch up? This Ant-Man set has me more excited than the Miles Morales one (which is really saying something) so I want to get my hands on it as soon as possible. The $20 price point seems perfectly reasonable to me, if not a little too cheap. How much is the Sandman/Rhino set supposed to be? Because this wave seems like it might be the most wallet friendly one I've seen yet, as far as must-haves go. I'm assuming the Ultimate Spider-Man vs. Carnage set is $15, right?

(Part of me wonders if any of that quality control time might be taken to give Hank a new head design, although that's pretty unlikely. I can dream, though..)

On the Brick Fan they said the issue would be resolved by Mid-June and the sets would be on shwlfs by then.

You know i kinda want them to hold back on Thanos, y'know so it'll be epic when we see him in Infinity War in lego form together with the Inhumans and what not

Ouch, yeah, that Juniors set kills it. It feels like the Juniors sets stay on shelves longer, too, so it seems less likely to drop in price any time soon. Well, there's no way I'm not getting that Green Goblin, so I guess Sandman and Iron Spider are gonna have to wait.

I saw both the MARVEL sets (Sandman + Carnage) at Smyths today in the UK.

The Sandman set is £44.99 and I would argue that it might be the worst LEGO set ever made. It looks completely and utterly appauling. (Of course, theres a couple of decent minifigures) but the set itself looks like trash, and I'd sooner chop appendages off before spending £44.99 on it.

LEGO Sandman VS Rhino etc - £44.99 for 386 pieces.

LEGO Ninjago Mech Battle - £39.99 for 754 pieces.

Makes sense.

I'd love to at least see some good pictures of the figures from the Carnage set!

I don't know why they didn't put at least an Ant-Man microfigure in that set to begin with. It would be really nice if they would toss one in now that they have the capability.

Thanos is probably going to wait until Infinity War, unless he gets a bigger role in Guardians 2 or Avengers Assemble. I'm mostly just curious to see how they handle him. Will the Infinity Gauntlet be a glove or a hand? Will you be able to remove the Infinity Stones? What piece would they even use for the Infinity Stones that wouldn't make it look too bulky? Will he still be all dumb and hunched over like Hulk, Grodd, and Darkseid? Only time and leaked photos will tell.

Woah, that price difference! What the hell? Can somebody explain this? How just 4 new minifigure prints and absolutely zero new parts is equivalent to over 368 pieces?

The build's certainly not that impressive, either, which is probably the first time a set has really disappointed me in terms of overall design.

(I've probably mentioned this before, but does this remind anyone else of that scene in Spectacular Spider-Man where Eddie tracked Peter to find where he hid the Venom symbiote? I think that might be my biggest draw to this set at this point lol)

Think the Carnage set is a real gift from lego to the fans.

Lego could have just slapped a basic Carnage figure in any crappy set to make us buy it - but instead gave us a excellent design (printed arms!), a new Spider-Man (finally!) and a Shield trooper along with a nice little vehicle and even a Shield sticker for MOCs - all for a very low price. So many Marvel/DC sets have been dreadful and this set felt like I was getting an 'apology' of sorts. Think this wave of Marvel/DC sets is easily the best.

Yeah, please Carnage set photos would be amazing!!! :classic:

Microfigs would be great. I mean they do them for the Helicarrier, which was really an unnecessary yet very well done addition to the set, but they don't add them Ant Man set whose whole shtick is turning small? *huh*

I would love for a big fig Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet as his hand. A gold hand with, most likely printed Infinity stones, would be amazing. The hand alone would be great for a scene or MOC. Perhaps giving it to the Hulk would look great too. :excited: I'm not really sure they're changing the big fig design any time soon, so I'm fine with a Quasimodo hunchback style Thanos.

Don't even get me started on the Sandman set. I thought of the Spectacular Spider-Man episode too. The black ooze in the middle of the grey plate isn't really helping.

They could've gone the easy route and did the micro figs for Ant-Man.

But they did something better and actually creative, normal sized bricks for normal and large brick built bricks for Ant sized. I applaud them for that.

Thanos will probably be released for IW and have a gold type glove.

I was going to post pics of the Carnage set, but I was to slow uploading them :)

It is a good little set, I'm tempted to get a few more, but don't really want lots of Carnages and Spider-Men

Loving the look of the set. Planning on getting three. Planning on using the extra as a carnage bomb sort of thing. Glad the shield agent has an alternative face.

For the sandman set as I've said before I like it but I wish they had put some more pieces in to the rhino mech (no fingers, what the heck).

On paper - yes, it's terrible. Rhino doesn't even have a unique face (it's the stormtrooper face) and I have literally never heard of 'iron spider'...

But I have that set before me...and I don't hate it. I actually like its play features, am delighted with the new legs for Spider-Man, Sandman's design (as if emerging from the sand) works well and the Rhino mech is a welcome addition to my collection.

Sometimes a set is better than the sum of its parts (or price...)

I tend to buy every set and often - overall - you're getting value for money, even if individual sets aren't. For instance, Carnage + Sandman/Rhino for £57 isn't terrible - 7 unique figures after all. Plenty of £60 sets have given me far less, even with more bricks.

How do you guys have some of the sets already? Are they all releasing in June? I thought the two spiderman sets came out later in the summer

Posted (edited)

Just got the Ant Man set from Walmart in Canada (Thanks TDRK2012 for alerting me)!

Wow. The set is very good value for $20 as you get 3 Fantastic Mini figures, and all of them have new molded Helmets and a Very nice looking Ant.

I think they started showing up in European Walmart style stores.

Ant-man set is available in the Netherlands now, spotted it but costs too much

Ever heard of the comic arc 'Civil War' ? Iron spider is one of the most well known spidey's tbh

Question: is the June Winter Soldier promo just thru Lego and Lego stores, or will Toys R Us also be running it?

Just Lego
