Zodack Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I think people have forgotten that there are so many different versions of each comic book character that one take one them (or even many) not being suitable for children doesn't mean it won't happen. I would imagine that most parents are unaware of the netfilx Daredevil series, even if their kids like comic book versions of the character. I said a Daredevil set was essentially unlikely in response to someone who said it would be the "perfect time" to unveil either a DD or Agents of Shield set, obviously referring to the timing and popularity of the TV shows. Not unlikely that they would print one for the Spiderman line but it would have to be an alt costume, or something from Ultimate Spiderman, a catroon, etc Quote
LMB10 Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I'd imagine if DD ever shows up in USM or AA he'll be in his Netflix suit Quote
Ultron Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Not unlikely that they would print one for the Spiderman line but it would have to be an alt costume, or something from Ultimate Spiderman, a catroon, etc No it wouldn't. Daredevil is famous for the red suit, so we'd get him in the red suit. Quote
BluePulse Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 No it wouldn't. Daredevil is famous for the red suit, so we'd get him in the red suit. yeah, but from what I've seen the majority of the characters' costumes seem to be based slightly off their movie appearances like antman, i could be wrong but to me they seem to be similar in some respects so im sure daredevil would be too Quote
Shib Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 The Ant-man set is from the Ant-Man movie...the Avengers Assemble sets are based on cartoons - e.g Falcon in Hulk Lab Smash looks nothing like the MCU version because it's the cartoon/comic version. Quote

Yes, but on the show Ant Man is in his MCU suit as opposed to his classic suit. Quote
Shib Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Ok so it seems like theres a bit of back and forth here based on the difference between cartoon design and mini figure design - I've seen none of the cartoons so without context I read BluePulse's comment as being about the LEGO set design rather than the cartoon design. Daredevil does get a red suit, albeit a dark red suit in the netflix series so I think the whole point is pretty moot anyway. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) The Ant-man set is from the Ant-Man movie...the Avengers Assemble sets are based on cartoons - e.g Falcon in Hulk Lab Smash looks nothing like the MCU version because it's the cartoon/comic version. I think he was talking about the tv shows, as most of the costumes are usually based on MCU versions of the characters. Honestly I'm not sure we'll get another Avengers Assemble wave. I feel like although it was refreshing and we got some good characters, it was just a filler wave and a one time thing. But perhaps they need something to pair up with Ultimate Spider-Man such as Ant-Man is this year and they'll pick AA, which would be problematic since their next seasons will also be Civil War themed. (A perfect time to introduce DD, but the MCU is already doing CIvil War) And as for Daredevil appearing in Ultimate Spider-Man, next year is a possibility, but the next season is about the Sinister Six and HYDRA. (And I'm still waiting for a White Tiger which may never happen) Edited July 3, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote
BluePulse Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 yeah i meant in the tv shows not the sets, sorry for not being clear Quote
SEE AR AR THREE Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Deadpool was created as comedy in the game, so lots of kids know him only from that. Probably why they got away with it... And yeah i know the game came out a lot later, but lego always is planning 3 years ahead! I don't understand this comment. Deadpool was created in the comic book New Mutants issue 98. Quote
Nekchir Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I don't understand this comment. Deadpool was created in the comic book New Mutants issue 98. I don't understand it either. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I don't understand this comment. Deadpool was created in the comic book New Mutants issue 98. I don't understand it either. He just means Deadpool was used for comedic affect in the game... Quote

Come on now, the discussion chain is whether or not the MCU (easiest to refer to him as thus) Daredevil would be in a set and I was arguing against that. Alternate costumes was referring to anything alternate than what he had in the Netflix series. His classic red suit would be perfect for a minfig but the more gritty reboot won't make the cut because even if they could fit it onto a fig it would promote a violent TV series and LEGO isn't about that. Honestly this whole discussion is off the rails. The entire point is it is very unlikely that LEGO would print an MCU-based minifig of Daredevil because it would promote awareness of the TV show. O yeah, well I doubt when we get him it'll be his MCU appearance. Although it wouldn't be entirely too different Quote
LMB10 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 If Lego made a Dark Knight set, there would be nothing stopping them making a set featuring Daredevil. Marvel loves brand awareness, and so should DD ever show up in USM / AA, you can guarentee he'll be in his red suit from the show, or something very similar. Quote
SEE AR AR THREE Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 (edited) What exactly is regarded as the MCU? Is this just the recent Avengers movies and all the solo films connected to it? The latest X-men and Spidey movies aren't included, right? Edited July 4, 2015 by SEE AR AR THREE Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 ru·mor ˈro͞omər/ noun noun: rumour; plural noun: rumours; noun: rumor; plural noun: rumors a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth. "they were discussing the rumors of a new sets" This is a thread for rumors. Not wishlists...Not for shooting down information that has yet to be confirmed...Not arguments; who here again actually works for LEGO? So, if anyone would like to add news, or rumors that they can confirm with a source, by all means, feel free to post them. However, if this thread continues on it's current path...Eurobricks might be short a few members real quick. Cool? Super! Quote
SMC Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 To be honest I don't think it is 'cool' to me it comes across as rude and condescending. But you are right eurobricks could well loss a few members because of the moderating. Quote
Gilberto_Aguilera Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Hey guys, i just bought the ant-man set at a target in LA, but i got the 183 piece rather than the 195 piece, so can i still contact LEGO to get the 12 extra pieces? And if anyone has gotten theirs from lego, could you please post a picture of the pieces and if they came with a bag or instruction or whatnot. Quote
Ultron Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I think you could've said all of that in a little bit of a nicer way, to be honest. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 4th person "taking a break" for speaking their mind to a moderator. I don;t want to start any trouble. I'm only here because I like the hobby and wish to share my thoughts about it, but I see unfairness coming from the moderator(s) more than the users. They have way too much power. Quote
SEE AR AR THREE Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Apparently someone has to start a new thread entitled "Marvel Superheroes Discussion". I would do it but I'm a newbie. Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 What exactly is regarded as the MCU? Is this just the recent Avengers movies and all the solo films connected to it? The latest X-men and Spidey movies aren't included, right? Exactly. No X-Men, no Fantastic Four, and none of the currently-existing Spider-Man movies. The next batch of Spider-Man movies will be included, though. Also, the TV shows Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter as well as the Netflix series Daredevil, and the upcoming Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Defenders are part of the MCU. There's also some short films included on the DVDs and Blu-Rays that factor in, although they very rarely add much canon. My Wal-Mart ran out of the Ant-Man sets for a few weeks, but they just restocked today and it's still the 183 version. Have they released the 195 at all yet? Quote
