deskp Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 alright so lego made a ASM2 spiderman figure, and they made a asm2 electro figue. same year they made this set, any chanse the set was going to be A small asm2 set, but something came in the way of it? Quote
LMB10 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) why would electro be so small on the packaging? Will try and pick that up if it's ever mass-released, even though I don't own a Spider-Man Edited October 5, 2014 by LMB10 Quote
klinton Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) Yeah unless Robot Arnim Zola is in Cap 3 or Avengers Assemble we're probably not getting him. Bah. We got M.O.D.O.K. and he's not in any film. I hope we see Zola at some point. Even just in a side set, like this year's Cap vs Skull set. His body died before Cap 2, but his computer brain died during Cap 2. Don't rule him out. Zola's whole schtik is that he just uploads to a new body when you 'kill' him. Meiko Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 The set number (5002125) is legitimate and fits the set (500xxxx is exclusive polybag minifigures, and the next number up, 5002126 was Super Heroes as well). Quote
LMB10 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Was apparently given out at 'Lego Kids Fest', whatever that is. Hope it wasn't exclusive to that event Quote

Yeah, that's interesting also because the next minifigure numerically is Martian Manhunter (and then Flashback Shredder). Maybe this promo was canned last minute? Was apparently given out at 'Lego Kids Fest', whatever that is. Hope it wasn't exclusive to that event Ah, that answers everything. Great. I could never go to those. Maybe this promo was canned last minute? I messaged the seller on eBay. In his response, he stated it was from "an official Lego event". No idea what that would have been, but at least we know it wasn't canned. Seller is in Virginia too. I don't remember any events at any of our LEGO stores here in VA that gave out exclusive things... Meiko you gotta grab us a few! Quote

8BrickMario Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 That Electro looks like a S@H bonus. It's only one minifigure, no build. Definitely a reason to spend. Quote
jimmysnuff Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 That Electro looks like a S@H bonus. It's only one minifigure, no build. Definitely a reason to spend. It's been a while since there was a Marvel one, what was last... Hulk? Quote
Ultron Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Bah. We got M.O.D.O.K. and he's not in any film. That's what I'm saying. We got MODOK because he is in Avengers Assemble and that's what the set was based on. The only way I see us getting Zola is if he appears in the show. It's been a while since there was a Marvel one, what was last... Hulk? More like the only one was Hulk Quote
Captain Nemo Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Thanks Lego, we all needed and wanted another ugly blue Electro rather than the more popular and iconic Classic yellow/green one. But on the plus side, this figure gets leg printing! Just like the last one! Good thing Lego gives it to the characters who need it the most! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 An ASM2 Electro?? How the meg@bløck is that even possible, I thought they couldn't get the rights since Sony has a deal with that toy manufacturer whose name shall not be mentioned? Colour me excited though Quote
LMB10 Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 ^^ Mega Bloks lost the licence after the first film after Marvel gained the merchandise rights from Sony. Lego released an ASM2 Spidey at ComicCon Quote
jimmysnuff Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Also if it's a giveaway it doesn't matter yeah? Quote
just2good Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 But on the plus side, this figure gets leg printing! Just like the last one! Good thing Lego gives it to the characters who need it the most! This promobag is most likely made in China, so it's much cheaper to do leg printing there (but the quality won't be as good). Also if it's a giveaway it doesn't matter yeah? This is actually a good point. Marvel doesn't like doing too much merchandising for movies other than the Disney MCU ones as they lose a lot of the profit they make due to licensing rights (see what they're doing with the new Fantastic Four). But I believe this is different with promotional products. Quote
strangely Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) I'm really hoping they give this a wider release at some point. I really like this version of Electro so much more than the Iceman version we got last. I'm hoping next year Lego actually just cuts to the chase and gives us an ASM2 set, maybe in the summer (I need an ASM2 version of Gwen Stacy, or any version at this rate). Who know's this could easily show up as a special promotion. Maybe if Sony puts out a directors cut at some point this can come with it... Edited October 5, 2014 by strangely Quote
jimmysnuff Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I wouldn't say no to a Rhino bigfig either... Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Are you talking about classic Rhino? The movie version would need to be a brick-built mech. But I would like Gwen Stacy. It would be incredibly dark if LEGO made a $20 set with Spidey, Gwen, classic Green Goblin, and a portion of the bridge. It would be a good way to get them, though! Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 This is a wasted figure. There are a lot of other characters people want more than Electro, and we've already had, albeit in a different outfit. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Weird haven't seen that poly before, legit? For sure, although with Chris Evans having two films left on his contract (AoU, Cap2) and Sebastian Stan having like seven to go... Plus the introduction of Crossbones in Cap2 which btw was a huge missed minifig opportunity I can see them possibly killing Steve Rogers off. Anyways sorry for going so far off topic. Contract renewal bud. Plus they sign new actors for large amounts of movies, beacuase the ordeal they had to go through with resigning a new contracrt for RDJ. And i hope its real, remember when we thought the Jor-El was fake. Though the face looks weird. Quote

I'd prefer the blue one a thousands times rather than the classic,I'm quite supriced how Spidey didn't died laughting when he first fought electro. Quote
