So when we move left they're moving right?

QM Note: Yep. If you want to use the same input system as the ice puzzle, feel free. Also as far as spotting goes, the undead see only in cardinal directions.

Atramor plunges ahead the Party quickly following behind, dodging around corners and skillfully evading the undead. They finally reach the entrance to the Necromancers' Quarters.

"Ah, heroes, was wondering when you were going to get here. Hope you didn't bring anymore undead with you. This pile I've got here is really starting to spoil the rug."

Posted

"Greenhood, I assume."

Atramor relaxed a bit now that the party was past the maze of undead.

"Aye. We've rounded up all the survivors we can find. Only place left to search is the storage closet. But then there's the issue of not being able to get out."

Posted

"Ah, Mr. Greenhood. I assumed you actually had a green hood, but dissapointments are part of life huh?"

"So, shall we go look for the third Necromancer?"

I whisper to jokingly to Heckz, "I can't tell whether this one is a man or a woman."

I then turn to Greenhood.

"Nice work," I say casually, gesturing towards the skeletons.

"I doubt anyone's putting up much resistance in their, unless you've already found U'reeves. The issue of getting out shouldn't be too terrible now that we have a reasonable force to make a headway to the exit portal once I activate it, but there is the issue of letting the undead just roam free on this plane."

Alistair indicated a deep blue set of robes poking out from under the pile of corpses, his head drooped.

"Vesquinn fell nearly an hour ago, there were too many and we were both out of ether, so revival was out of the question. I'm afraid, I am all that's left."

Thalion looks at Greenhood, "What happened here? How can the undead pose any threat to the necromancers?"

14717402318_c19c6d4450_t.jpg

"Easily master elf, if there is someone else more powerful controlling them or if a Necromancer simply runs out of ether. We generally have a supply of tonics delivered here at the beginning of the week to keep us fully stocked."

I pause for a while, thinking.

"So what's the plan. Do you think we can take down the remaining undead? Do we abandon this place? Do you think there is another necromancer controlling them? And, if so, I suppose he'd have to be down here...somewhere...or?"

"Your guess is as good as mine. One week ago we were tending to our regular duties, when we swarmed by our undead servants paying no heed to our commands. We were forced to retreat to what safety we could, but our ether and other supplies slowly waned. I attempted a few time to slip notes for help into some of the nearest doors, thankfully they seemed to have found someone. If this is all of you, then we're outnumbered four or five to one I'd imagine. Have you noticed any strange behavior from the groups you've encountered?"

"Aye. The ones we had to get past to get here weren't very smart. And they always seem to be distracted by somethin'."

Atramor jammed his thumb towards Magwin.

"Also, this one was holdin' Aroosie at knifepoint over this 'Crown of Helvetia' ya' seem to have..."

Alistair shot a stern glance at Magwin.

"I will deal with you later."

"The crown is a merely a trinket nowadays with the advent of the phoenix essence. It served to revive the wearer should they succumb to a mortal wound."

"Well, by the looks of it, this plane is pretty important, even to Heroica. I s'pose we should try and clear out the rest of the corpses. Do any of ya' have any idea how the undead broke loose? Obviously we don't want this happenin' again."

Posted

"Aye. We need to take them out. And ya' might wanna invest in some guards rather than undead next time."

Posted

OoC: Sorry for absence.

Heckz chuckled at Pretzel's note and then whispered seriously to him.

"Wait... that's not a woman?"

He then turned to the party and Greenhood.

"Yes, let us kill more baddies. But if you are going to set up a Skeleton Decoy or whatever, do it now. It does not come with instructions."

"The undead do not care for the possessions of others hence why we utilize them, or they shouldn't. I fear whatever has hold of them might be proving differently. There are nearly 65 undead out there, but I will trust your judgement in the matter, however I would not recommend we leave them here to overrun the plane, however necromancy is my expertise, heroics are yours."

QM Note: This is my final post for about a week. Feel free to plan, theorize, whatever you'd like. I'll post the final battle should you choose to pursue that route when I get back. My apologies for the inconvenience, I really wanted to try and get this finished before I had to leave, however it was not to be.

I nudge Thalion.

"Since it's likely that we will be facing undead, it may be a good idea for you to loan Heckz your Diamond or other gems."

I then turn to Atramor. "Since you look a little more capable of holding your own then the others, l'll give you my other Phoenix Incense. Remember, use it sparingly and only if necessary, they are very valuable..." I trail off thinking better of telling this shifty character how valuable they were.

Still, I hand a Phoenix Incense to Atramor.

I do notice a scroll sticking out of his bag though of holding though, although I have no idea how I see that.

"Perhaps that scroll of yours would be put to better use in one of our hands. Hmm?"

No problem, WBD. Enjoy yourself! :classic:

Atramor blinked, unconcerned. "Maybe ya' didn't hear me. Undead aren't workin', if it wasn't obvious enough. Get some machines or somethin'."

Still, I hand a Phoenix Incense to Atramor.

The regulator takes the incense, and tosses the Scroll of Arc Frailty to Heckz.

"Be careful with that thing mate. It's more valuable than any of the crap you've ever dumped into your hair." He turned his head to the paladins, and nodded. "I assume we can count on your help takin' these things on, too. If so, that makes thirteen of us. If I can kill thirty five homicidal ninja and a magic dragon with that many people, that should be more than enough to handle a few undead."

Thalion drinks a Nostrum; and tosses a Diamond to Heckz, "I am expecting that back as soon as we finish with those undead, so no funny ideas."

"Now lets get them!"

The Party heads out the door, necromancers and paladins in tow. Upon reaching the exterior hallway they come face to face with a massive hoard of Undead. Leading the way a gaunt crowned Fenarian stands bedecked in ornate white robes and scarlet red mantle.

"So, it appears the reports are true. Heroica has indeed come to the aid of these oppressors."

Posted

"Oppressors? Who the hell do ya' think you are?" snapped Atramor, Pheles Kris held at the ready.
