"When we got here, all of our stuff went missing, do you know anything about that; who took, where it might be kept...?"

"Two more questions, Mister Large Ears. How do we open that fancy door over there? And what lies in those darkened hallways."

He says, pointing at the ornate door and the hallways.

"Now hold on a minute. Who the hell runs this place and why are you feedin' a horde of undead?"

Atramor doesn't lower his weapon so much as an inch.

"Wait you do not know where you are? You are on the Plane of Holding - Eubric district which is where you are at and that is why you're stuff is missing. On this plane, bags of holding do not function as they do in the Material Plane like on this plane. Each of the doors is simply a rear entrance to the material plane where your stuff is held because they are the doors to that plane. The hallways simply house more doors and hence more entrances to the material plane which is what those hallways hold and your items which you seek. The undead are kept because they can be trusted to maintain the entrances without stealing anything for the undead have no use for material possessions which is why they are trusted in the entrances' maintenance. However, one week ago something went wrong, and the necromancers lost control of the undead which is very wrong. Not even the Paladin detachment could hold them back and we dared not attempt an escape for fear of letting the undead loose upon the city of Eubric which could not hold them back like our detachment of Paladins. Mr. Greenhood, is the head necromancer and is in charge and is the person in charge whom you seek is he."

"What the hell does any of that mean?? Why's this plane here and what's its purpose?"

"So, basically, you are paid to clean up a place that nobody would ever want to go. The letter this green necromancer sent to me said something about a jump. Do you know anything about that?"

After finishing with his questions, Heckz started looking at his nails to see if they were scratched from the fight. Then he turns towards Atramor.

"I say we don't split up to look for our things. What if someone *cough cough* you *cough cough* finds my stuff and decides not to give it back?"

U'reeves sighs with frustration and seems to be concentrating really hard. "Most heroes...carry with them a bag of holding how else... do you expect to carry around so much stuff without being weighed down? All those... how does Greenhood explain it? Pocket dimensions! Pocket dimensions... actually exist in one plane: this one! Have you ever wondered how your loot is always just where you need it in your bag and is always in mint condition? It because it's kept in pristine condition by us." U'reeves lets out a long gasp of desperation from communicating so understandably.

"You're saying that whenever we put somethin' into our bag it just...appears here?"

Atramor blinked. He'd never really considered how some heroes carried so much stuff with them.

"And now the overseer of all this, this Green Necromancer guy. He's lost control of the undead guards. He got a message into the hands of anyone in Eubric who uses these bags, which I guess includes Paladins, which explains why they came here. Is that all right?"

"That's right what that is. And Mr. Greenhood isn't the only necromancer, he's just the head one over them all. And no we keep a cohort of Paladins on staff at all times in case of a minor incident with the undead which is why we keep a cohort of Paladins on staff."

"Well, they didn't do a very good job. Ya' work here, aye? Can ya' give us an idea of the layout of this building?"

Posted

"That's the only way in and out of here? How the hell did Greenhat get his message out, then?"

"Oh, none of the doors are ever unlocked, so if Mr. Greenhood sent you a message I'd imagine he just threw it into a random unlocked door he happened to be running by at the given moment. The entrance portal can hold more, but it's contolled by the head office in Mr. Greenhood's quarters which may have a hoard of undead in front of it right now."

"For feeding the undead of course, what else do you feed the departed? Don't worry, he was already dead so there's no need for worry."

 "I think I'm going to be sick," I mumble.

"Any suggestions on how do we access our stuff then?"

"Aside form opening thousands of doors which you could open? The librarian keeps track of all the doors since bags are constantly going in an out of circulation thus the librarian keeps track of them."

"Baloney!" I bark. "I keep all of my goods in my cart, no 'bag of holding,' and my cart has disappeared too for that matter.

"You fellows down here had better find a new system of working those doors. How is it that you can trust undead but you cannot trust the paladins who are guarding them enough. That's ridiculous! Do you trust the necromancers controlling the undead too? By the way, just how many undead did you have working down here?"

And why is it that every last member of your damnable species are causing problems everywhere they go and working with demons? I think.

Sorry for not being around. Our electricity has been worse than normal over the weekend.

"I am assuming our things will 'reappear' once once we leave this God-forsaken place, or should I not be so optimistic?"

"Sooo, Pretzel, Ratabor and me go to the second hall. Which I think is the one with the icy skeleton. And Thalion and Mister Distaste in Fashion go to the third hall, correct?"

Posted (edited)

Pretzel glances behind and notes that his cart is indeed sitting in the middle of the hall on the portal, but empty.

"The undead simply follow basic commands and the Necromancer's aren't privy to what is stored where which is why they only give basic commands to the undead. The Paladins are on a rotation schedule and are thoroughly searched before they leave when their rotation is finished. Each necromancer was handling thirty or so undead each so that's about ninety or so and yes if you make it back to the material plane I'm sure you'll find your stuff is easily accessible from your bags or... cart."
