8BrickMario Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'm so stupid. I literally just realized the pun behind Jay Walker's name... Quote
Exetrius Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 All new parts first released in sets from May onwards. It's very frustrating, and CS only tells you that they're "in the process of being added". Seriously, it doesn't take over 3 months to do that. Anyway, anybody waiting to see pictures of Wooo's head? Wait no more, I have it! Thank you so much! It is a fantastic one! Quote

Ninja of Fire Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I'm so stupid. I literally just realized the pun behind Jay Walker's name... Wait, what pun? Quote
BrickJagger Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Wait, what pun? Jay Walker. Jaywalker. You might know this, but to "Jaywalk" is to cross the street where there isn't a crosswalk. It's also illegal. Quote
obsidianheart Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 See, I don't follow the fiction, so when the set "Jay Walker One" was leaked and wasn't a mech, I was looking for it to be a police car. I didn't get it at all. I din't even know any of them had last names. Quote
horizon Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Jay Walker? Or a pun to Johnny Walker? ;) Quote
Aanchir Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 See, I don't follow the fiction, so when the set "Jay Walker One" was leaked and wasn't a mech, I was looking for it to be a police car. I didn't get it at all. I din't even know any of them had last names. Some of them actually don't, at least not confirmed ones. The fan community likes to make up last names for them, which sometimes gets annoying when they can't settle on one last name and some settle on giving them middle names and hyphenated last names that combine all of the more popular fan choices. Jay has a last name because the last name of his parents (Ed and Edna Walker) is confirmed in the credits of some of the episodes they appear in. But this is the first time Jay's full name has been used anywhere. Zane's father's name is Dr. Julien, so some fans refer to him as Zane Julien, but again, his full name has never been used officially. Quote
horizon Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Same as the lord garmadon -> Lloyd Garmadon thing. That would mean Garmadon is a last name. With Sensei Wu being Lord Garmadon's brother would it be Wu Garmadon then and what is Lord Garmadon's first name. Quote
Exetrius Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Can we move on with the set discussion please (as far as their is anything left to discuss about the 2015 sets ) Quote
horizon Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Pfft. The best discussions are the ones that derive from the original intent while still touching the main subject. ;) Anyhow, Ronin R.E.X. is by far one of the best ninjago sets Lego has made to date. What also prevails is that the nindroid wave was a really weak one in terms of Lego sets. The tournament/Chen sets a step back in the right direction and the ghost steps again really top designs. 2rabbits Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Hello folks, Would like to share a couple of freshly made moc mechs, enjoy :) Quote
samurai-turtle Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Hello folks, Would like to share a couple of freshly made moc mechs, enjoy :) I think it would of been fine if you started your own thread for this stuff. For the Jay Walker stuff, their was a weather man that used that name. (But I do not think it was his real name.) Quote

TheOneVeyronian Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 WoOOoo! Nice! Any pictures of the other ghost? Do these guys have backprints? That head is smexy! ~Insectoid Aristocrat They both have back printing, and it actually turns out these two have unique torsos as well (never realised until I really scrutinised the different ghost torsos). Unfortunately the other ghost (Howla) is no longer in my possession so can't take any more photos of it unless I end up buying another army building pack, but only the torso on that one is unique. The head is standard Ninjago ghost fare. Pic of Wooo's back: And the one photograph I did take of Howla: (linking because it's a biggie) Quote
horizon Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Nice. Son got the magazine with the exclusive Ming polybag (Netherlands). Basically the basic ghost with a different weapon. Lolz. Quote
Lyichir Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 My brother and I recently built the Master Wu Dragon, and I made a discovery today—while the haunted food stand needs to be modified to be pulled by a regular Lego horse (removing the trigger for the disc launcher), it fits the "skeleton horse" from the Fantasy Castle theme just fine without any modification! The glow-in-the-dark horse skeleton from Monster Fighters is a great fit, though it kind of makes me wish it came in Spring Yellowish Green so it would match better. Quote
Exetrius Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Hmm, interesting discovery, thanks for sharing Lyichir! The inclusion of a ghost horse would have made that set even more awesome, but it would probably have some consequences for the price-point... Quote
benderisgreat Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Finally got Attack of Morro Dragon set a couple of days ago and I think it's the best set of ghost wave. Personally I think Morro dragon is the best brick build dragon Lego has ever done. And Possessed Lloyd is my favorite minifig of entire summer wave. Btw Deepstone ninja outfits are the best looking ninja robes in Ninjago history. Quote

Btw Deepstone ninja outfits are the best looking ninja robes in Ninjago history. While the morro dragon is a great build and the brick build head a real treat I must say that the lightning dragon is still the best dragon by Lego. Mainly because of the cooler wings and more possibilities in positioning the dragon. Quote
Ninja of Fire Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I just got the Destiny's Bounty today for $135 in Australia, seems to be pretty good, by I haven't built it...yet. Quote
Exetrius Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Brickset has listed a new set! As you can see here, it is basicly the Army Builder Pack, but only Kai and Wooo and a little less weapons. I didn't really care for Jay and the other ghost anyway, I would like to get my hands on this. Quote
Mandate Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Just bought TFFoDB, and it's simply gorgeous. Not only does the set surpass Metal Gear ( ) my expectations, it's left sets like Battle for Ninjago City feeling empty and boring. The colorscheme is amazing, the look is amazing, (most of) the figures are amazing, the ghost dragon is amazing, it's just all around an incredibly good set. It does have its faults, sadly, but I'm really impressed how even some of its faults work into its positives. I can't say the DB 2.0 is better than the original, because I'd say they're on par with each other, but the overall set is far better than the overall original set. Bravo LEGO, now stop making these waves of NINJAGO so expensive and I'll be a regular customer for them Quote
Aanchir Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Interesting thing I just noticed on Amazon. The ninth LEGO Ninjago chapter book from Scholastic, titled The New Ninja, is coming out in December. Chances are that like most of this year's chapter books, it'll just be an adaptation of events from the TV series. However, as bonus material, it includes the winning entries from this year's LEGO Ninjago fan fiction contest from the LEGO Message Boards! I think this is incredibly cool. The LEGO Group has published the winning entries of MOC contests in Bionicle guide books from the past, but this will be their first time publishing the winners of a story-writing contest. It celebrates a type of creative expression that many parts of the LEGO community tend to ignore, and I think that's wonderful. Here are the winning entries, if anybody's interested. :) Quote

Agree, this Ninjago fan-fiction contest is a great recognition towards all fans who enjoy (and are good at) writing amazing stories. Back to the set discussion: Only one set (as far as we know) left to be released, the Minifig Cube. When will it show up? It's been ages since we got that picture! Anybody has a clue to the date of release? Quote
