Bricknblue Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I love the crazy snake tribe people, so awesome. Great helmets, buying the small ones. Quote
DuckBricks Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Wu isn't confirmed to be dead. His absence from the sets means nothing. He'll probably be in the show. He doesn't need to be in the sets, though. Forget Wu, we need CULTISTS! Maybe Wu IS a cultist... Quote
Cagast Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I am not sure about those names yet. But I am sure that white/red sensei is called Griffin Turner, and another cultist from the same set Elbyon (or something similar) Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Maybe Wu IS a cultist... I knew Shyamalan had something to do with the new season! Quote
Oky Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 All these sets look pretty good. I like how this wave seems like a throwback to the first wave with the red box art, all the purple pieces and bones on the bad guy vehicles, and some of the similar set designs (the Jungle Trap is like Ninja Ambush, the Anacondrai temple is like Garmadon's Fortress, and the Dojo Showdown is like the Spinjitzu Dojo). I also like some of the Adventurer's elements in these sets such as collapsing bridges, spike pits, etc. I think I'll get the Jungle Trap to get Kai's hair and the snake skull, and so that I can use those blades as weapons for Green Lantern. Mandate Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I don't know what you mean by "still," he's still the normal blue as usual. Nope, I checked my Kimono Jay with the Jungle edition. It's the same light blue as Alien Conquest, it's too bright. And Jay from this year used the same light blue. Although my Jay Minifig is at my Aunt's (I have to live in two separate houses due to schoolwork and stuff ) I'm really excited to see this story come to fruition. There's a lot of development coming, and I hope that we will have a full season of TV episodes to accompany this wave (unlike Rebooted). Yeah, it's become clear to me that a lot of the things happening in this wave have been played out directly to set this all up. Hopefully it means we'll get a proper explanation for the Overlord and *you know who's* way of cheating death. The whole "Overlord is an evil spirit" doesn't work when everyone who dies can possess inanimate objects to survive. The introduction of 1-2 rogue Samurai and human villains is a really good change from previous years. Quote
Thelegomaster Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I still want stronger human elemental villains, they could be samurais too! Quote
DarthLeapyous Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) I can make out a few names on ipad (you can zoom in with finger swipes) White dojo guy seems to be called "Steffan Turner" (actually, it kind of looks like "Griffin”) The black samurai with the giant hands is "Hanlan" (or Kanlan....i cannot make out if it is a H or a K) I was the one who made out some of the cultists names. Slash, Slaven and Kapau. Edited October 1, 2014 by DarthLeapyous Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I wish we knew the "Anacondrai Priest" figure's name. He's the one with the boa boa! Quote

This year's Jay minifigure is Bright Blue, same as it's always been. Unless you bought a knock-off Jay minifigure or your Jay minifigure was incredibly defective (or the lighting in one of the houses you live in distorts your perception of color), I can't fathom why it would seem like the Dark Azur uniforms from Alien Conquest. The new Jay minifigure for next year MIGHT be Dark Azur. The picture could lean either way, and there are no other blue parts in the picture to compare it with. But until we see some compelling evidence that his color has changed, I think it's safest to assume that it hasn't. Quote

As I said, my Jay minifigure was not with me at the time, I was mostly working off of internet photos. And the CGI rendering they did of Jay this year looked pretty close to Dark Azure. I've just gone over and checked, and yes, mine is the same blue as the other Jays. However, regarding the "MIGHT" part, it's going to be one hell of a screw-up if he isn't. Both the box art and the "set view" depict him as Dark Azure, including top and bottom Minifig shots. The robot in Ninja DB X (as the box calls it) is Dark Azure as well, if the photos are to be believed. When Just2Good uploads the Mech photos, then we'll know. Also, regarding the human villains and jungle setting; "all who enter are never found" *hint hint* Quote

Keep in mind that pictures can be misleading (especially on a computer, since different computers and browsers can sometimes show colors differently). To me, on my screen, the Jay in the pictures seemed like regular Bright Blue. MAYBE slightly different, but definitely not enough of a difference to say for sure that it's a different color. Anyway, Takuna on BZPower pointed out to me that the Ninja hood has been available on LEGO Digital Designer in Flame Yellowish Orange since the last update. A bit of a clue that none of us picked up on until after the fact, I suppose. That happens sometimes on LDD, and I wonder whether any other new 2015 parts might be hiding there. It's sometimes hard to say because especially with older parts, LDD often includes a lot of colors that never those parts never had in sets and might only have been produced as test molds, if they were produced at all. DuckBricks Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Also, regarding the human villains and jungle setting; "all who enter are never found" *hint hint* Hrm... perhaps they went mad from being trapped in the lair for so long... That would explain the other Anacondrai as well... He could have gone in there and escaped Pythor's wrath Quote
Agent Fusion Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 It appears that the "Hydro" rumour has spread to Brickipedia: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Hydro Quote
Shakar Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 It'd be curious if Jay was Dark Azure, Gali in the new BIONICLE sets is using that colour as well (instead of her classic Bright Blue like Jay's). Maybe they're trying to push that color, like Bright Green in the Superhero sets? Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 @Just2good do you have detail pictures of ninjago like the chima ones you posted? Quote
just2good Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 @Just2good do you have detail pictures of ninjago like the chima ones you posted? Here, doubt they're any better than what other sites have up, but I threw them quickly in an Imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/StFxg Quote
Cagast Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 It appears that the "Hydro" rumour has spread to Brickipedia: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Hydro This is most probably fake, because that page was created by an user who made up the story about Hydro on wikipedia. Anyways, when i looked to the album, that anacondrai is not called Harley... Quote
Aanchir Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I'm amazed at how many minifigures there are. I count 26 minifigures total — by comparison, the theme's debut wave only had 20 minifigures! Included among those 26 are eight different Anacondrai goons, three different Anacondrai Serpentine (including Pythor), and ten new Ninja minifigures. It's still not as many figs as there were in 2012, but this is just the first wave of sets! Just as a point of comparison, there are now as many minifigures that were NOT featured in the Character Encyclopedia as ones that WERE. Quote
obsidianheart Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 How come the Snake-Skull helmets have holes in the tops? Quote
Lyichir Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 How come the Snake-Skull helmets have holes in the tops? Possibly so that they feel more hollow and skull-like? I like the look it gives, personally. Quote
DarthLeapyous Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 i now feel the need to buy all the Serpentine Generals before i get these sets so i have an army. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 How come the Snake-Skull helmets have holes in the tops? Maybe its a peg sized hole to attach something to the top? Quote
