TPLSTER21 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 @ TheLazyChicken: As Penkid11 mentioned above set details for Ninjago and other themes will appear sometime between now and mid-October. Early news (i.e. getting news now) depends on people who have access to or have seen the Lego retailer catalog. Also, sometimes online retailers will post the set names/prices for advance order before they are supposed to! At this point, all we can do is snoop around online and try to find some news or wait for someone to leak some info from the catalog. But unless Lego does something unusual, we should be getting around 7 sets based on past Winter wave releases. Quote
PenPlays Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Ooohhh... But it could still be possible to get 7 sets right? Even though it is good to know we will get more sets next year. Of course. Just because it isn't official, doesn't mean that we can't speculate. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Ahh still no news?A set list?Anything? Quote
TPLSTER21 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Well, so far we have set lists for Bionicle, City, Star Wars and The Hobbit and we got packaging pics of the Hobbit sets...Given all that we could get a set list sooner rather than later as Ninjago is one of Lego's more popular lines. I'm thinking that the next set list leaks should be Marvel/DC, Friends and Ninjago. Having said that, at this point we are dependent on people who have seen/have in hand the retail catalog. It is up to them to choose to share the information. Or have an online retailer post a pre-order list (but I think that TLG is cracking down pretty hard on when stuff can be put online for pre-order). Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Anyone else hoping for a pirates line? We've had skeletons, dragons, snakes, more dragons, nindroids, and even more dragons... I fer one be thinkin' tharrt it be high time ta' see Cap'n Soto in mini-fig form. Of course, they'd be makin' t' pirates out to be t' weaker o' t' two, which be rather ridiculous, see'in as how everyone be knowin' tharrt pirates can beat a bunch of goofy pajama men arrny day o' t' year! (Also, we do have a(separate, presumably) pirate ship coming out sometime in the next year or so...they might try recycling some prints from that to cut down on costs...) Lego will be releasing at least one set as part of a new Pirates line. If Ninjago were to have pirates at the same time, obviously one line would sell better than the other... Quote
TPLSTER21 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Based on the brief description of Ninjago 2015 given at SDCC, I don't think that it will be "Ninja's vs. Pirates". It hinted at the ninja's facing off against other people/creatures who also have elemental powers. Sounds like more of a "Superhero" vibe or perhaps even "Ninjas vs. Ninjas"? Quote

TheLazyChicken Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 We'll, this sounds interesting. Not sure what the theme for this year is. Quote

Mesonak Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) There appears to be 11 sets, although 70751 does not have a page on the website.Gotta say, they're sounding pretty interesting. Not really sure what this means for the future of the series... Edited August 28, 2014 by Mesonak Quote

Pulp Detective Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Sounds pretty interesting!!So the snakes are back huh?? Quote
Mandate Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Well, THIS explains why the Anacondrai were the most feared of the Serpentine. Elemental abilities would certainly be a ridiculous power, is this the "small favor" Pythor mentioned to the Overlord? Bringing back the Anacondrai? Sucks that we won't be getting a new ninja faction No confirmation on the new ninja, yet. Strange that Zane has no new set mentioned, though its probably the ?????? one (for those wondering, Kai is easily "Lava Falls"). I suppose this means there's going to be no explanation for the Stone Army tomb's opening OR Zane's heart. Unless of course, it turns out that the Anacondrai were in two tombs, separating "invisible" ones and "elemental" ones, and the elemental ones broke out, and opened the Tomb (unlikely because someone would have mentioned it by now) Quote
TheRedGuy Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I doubt the Anacondrai have elemental powers, since Pythor was never seen using any sort of elemental power. But on the other hand, more snakes! I hope they don't just reuse the Pythor mold. Quote
Mandate Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I doubt the Anacondrai have elemental powers, since Pythor was never seen using any sort of elemental power. But on the other hand, more snakes! I hope they don't just reuse the Pythor mold. No, the Hageman brothers (the Greg Farshtey of NINJAGO) confirmed the new villains (the Anacondrai, as revealed now) would have elemental powers. However, their actual statement was vague, as they said "the ninja discover they are not the only ones with elemental powers". So perhaps the appearance of a new ninja (if it's not PIXAL) may explain this, in fact, it could be a new type altogether, albeit with a new color. It's too early to tell yet, but given how unexplored much of NINJAGO is we'll find out eventually. I'm just hoping they manage to do fewer retcons this time around, at least not retconing the retcons. We already had a whopper of a retcon that was the Serpentine backstory, and I'm hoping they're going to fix that up a bit with the snakes being the enemy again (unfortunately, I doubt that the snakes underneath Borg Tower will be evil again. After the ending of Episode 34, it's pretty unlikely.) Quote
Pulp Detective Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Does anyone remember when pictures started to show up last year for the winter wave?? Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I believe we first found pictures on Kmart.com, along with other things like Friends and Juniors. When? Um.. October? -Sc Quote
