Ninjago 2015

We seem to be witnessing a new expansion of the Ninjago brand with a fully fleshed out story dedicated to a video game. With new characters, vehicles and locations built specifically for the game and not the TV show, it does seem like a ripe opportunity to at least try a couple sets from the game-verse this upcoming summer.

Clearer picture of Nya's new outfit. I liked her Rebooted suit more.

Looks pretty cool! I like that we finally get a face print with her high-tech eyepiece! I am still a bit upset that we haven't gotten a minifigure of her in her new default outfit from "Rebooted", but hey, we got Dareth and Lloyd DX minifigures this year, so anything's possible!

New Ninjago game was announced today that unlike Nindroids looks to be a whole new story set outside the TV show. Will we get any figures attached to it? The new villain looks pretty sweet.

I honestly do not like Nya's new Samurai X outfit. There is too much green in my opinion. I was originally going to get every Nya minifig variant. But I'll pass on this one. I might get the new head for the goggles print since its more show accurate than the one I use for my 2012 Samurai X fig.

The writing on the scroll seems to be just faux-Asian gibberish and not any sort of real language (it could be a cipher, but since there's no key I strongly doubt it). So it's just a little teaser for what's to come.

So in the winter wave, we get 11 sets, 2 versions of ninja suits and 2 types of collectable items. The second tournament part of sets looks like it's separated from first few sets (tournament is the first part of TV series).

I think they actually wanted to put the whole season into one wave, and instead of sets from the 2015 season in summer, put the wave of sets that is based on the video game.

Well I've purchased a few figures here and there, but have never gotten into Ninjago. Looking at those figures, I am drooling. I don't want to pick up the sets per se since next year will be an expensive one, but I may try to source those minifigures from somewhere/one. They are looking superb.

Eh, I won't be buying that game. I don't have a handheld console, and Nindroids didn't seem like a good game.

Got the minifig cube doohickey (I love how spellcheck doesn't underline that) at Target. Lloyd DX sold me since those are my favorite outfits.

Anywho, great figure. Not much else to say.

I got to say it, these new minifigures for 2015 look amazing! Zane as the titanium ninja looks great, all the new ninja suits as well. Love samurai x, Garmadon, and all the anacondrai cultists. This looks like to be one of the best waves of ninjago.

Jungle Trap... is pretty uninteresting. Anyway, I don't think the Jade Blades are going to have a big focus for the rest of the year, we've only seen them used in "Tournament" sets.

Lava Falls is pretty nice, I just wish the bridge was longer.

I just noticed the ninja "bandolier" (I know it isn't that, but that's the best description I can give) has the symbols of Lloyd, Jay, Cole and Kai on them.
