Interesting! I'm only really interested in obtaining the Anacondrai snakes and cultists (the ones with the snake skull helmets, the others are nice but I don't need them really). Out of the sets, the Titanium Dragon and Enter the Serpent are of most interest to me, and I may also pick up a couple of the inexpensive Tournament sets (Jungle Trap looks very similar to a set we've already seen... no prizes for guessing which!). I'll probably end up turning to Bricklink for white Pythor and all the cultists I can't get from TD or EtS or the <£10 Tournament sets.

If I didn't have so many other themes all fighting for my attention (and many are higher up my list than Ninjago unfortunately), I would probably buy most of this Ninjago wave as the sets do look really good to me compared to last year's :sweet:

That said, if March IS the release date in the UK for these... then things might change as that'll give my funds a chance to recuperate from a bumper January!

A thing I noticed on a couple pages back was that in these two pictures, the cultist has the same torso print as the snakeman above or below them. I'm just pointing out that it's a neat visual.

Yeah, it's been speculated these two can transform into snakes/humans (depending on their original species). Their "human" names are Chope and Kapau, and their Anacondrai names are Chop'rai and Kapau'rai (if I recall correctly, anyway).

Tournament Figs review. LEGO really needs to fix their printing on the legs. It's getting annoying how low-quality it is now.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean? The leg printing looks just fine to me. It lines up correctly with the torso printin, and the outlines are just as sharp and the colors just as bright as on the torso.

Perhaps you were expecting printing on the sides of the legs? But if so, I can't imagine why... printing on the sides of legs is still extremely rare, and usually still reserved for figs who are wearing shorts, boots, or a skirt. Lots of figs (including this past year's Ninja) don't get leg printing at all.

These outfits are pretty nice, despite mostly being palette swaps (aside from the emblems and slight differences in the belts)

The Anacondrai figs we're getting definitely look cool, though it's a bit of a break from tradition in that they all feature snake tails instead of legs, whereas in 2012 that trait was reserved for the Serpentine generals.

That's not what I meant. Unless this problem isn't in America, there's a very noticeable difference in print quality between the torso and legs on all of my 2014 minifigures. The printing on the lower legs is usually blurred and somewhat smudged, missing a bit of color here and there. The problem started back in 2013, and it's a downgrade in quality I'm really annoyed with. All of my Nindroids have the same problem, and luckily the Overlord minifigure doesn't.

It's the high demand for ninjago, they pretty much just mass-mass produce them. A lot of the first ninjago sets had it, especially the spinners.

Yes, the spinners had that problem, but that was because they were the ones that were mass-mass produced. They were made with a cheaper Chinese plastic and the printing did not have the same paint quality as those manufactured in other factories. This was the case for the original few Series of the Collectable Minifigures as well. It was done simply for mass production purposes. If I recall correctly, these problems are no longer a problem (hence the recent price hike on the CMFs...).

The original spinner figures did have better fittings (ninja hat) then the non-spinner figures. Also no issues with the printing here on them.

That is true. However, I have several minifigs that can't take off their mask due to the friction.

I have only heard these printing issue stories, I do not have direct experience with it.

Not only does it have a polybag price, but there's another potential polybag on that site as well.

They both translate (in Googlish) as follows:

30291 Anacondrai Battle Mecha

30292 Jay's Nano Mecha

This is an exciting development. There are also some really nice pictures of the all the other sets on there as well.

Possible ship set?

Oh man, that would be excellent. I think the last time Lego produced a paddle-wheeler like that was before my lifetime.

But since the teaser makes it seem like that's one of the first settings we'll see, yet we haven't seen it listed in any catalogs yet, I worry it may suffer the same fate as Borg Tower and go undepicted in official sets.

Borg Tower, as a set, wouldn't have lived up to many expectations for a D2C/high price set. While LEGO has made successful skyscraper-esque sets in the past, Borg Tower has a very unique shape that unlike Isengard can't be shortened and still retain the overall shape (without it being incredibly skinny, anyway). The paddle boat is probably only going to be seen maybe twice, so I really doubt it's going to be featured in sets.

EDIT: Well, that didn't take long. The Tournament sets (excluding Dojo) can be found on eBay now. They're all ridiculously overpriced, of course.

Oh, and it turns out Lloyd DX isn't just a reprint of Cole DX with minor changes. It's entirely different other than the shared head shape (which is unavoidable). And the back of the Tournament outfits look terrible, IMO. It uses inflated versions of the original ninja emblems minus a lot of detail. Really bland :(

i mentioned this a while back. i still think this could be our "mysterious 70751" We'd get a Titanium Hanlan, A hooded Skylor, Kai, and maybe the other ninja...who knows. I like the idea.

Perhaps. But this is a bit like last year with Destructoid, except last year we actually had a listing for it. The set could have been cancelled, as someone else said early on in the thread.

Usually less than in the winter wave. This year there were 2 (which were still good). 2012 had 4 summer sets (one of the biggest Ninjago years), including spinners, with 10 winter sets. It's very possible that the summer wave will be about Shadows of Ronin, which I would like because then we would get more. And next year, the first wave has 11 sets, with two collectable items, two versions of suits...just like they put the whole Anacondrai season to one wave.

Hopefully Lego will do the same thing with Legends of Chima this year.I mean spiders and scorpions in the winter wave and Prehistoric animals in the summer wave.So what ever Lego has in store for us next summer,I hope it's something different.
