Cagast Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Glaive is an european weapon, a spear with a blade on the top. You can see Ronin holds it in his right hand on the poster from 2015 set instructions. Quote
Mandate Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) The game introduces Ronin, a new threat who commands a dark army of samurai soldiers. Ronin has obtained an ancient weapon known as the Obsidian Glaive that is able to steal the ninjas memories, and with them their knowledge of how to wield their elemental powers. The ninjas will have to locate Obisidian weapons to recover their memories and stop Ronin before he can execute a grander plan. That's all the plot details we know. Might I add that we've seen two versions of Ronin, not one, and the one we originally saw had a more complete look to it. Glaive is an european weapon, a spear with a blade on the top. You can see Ronin holds it in his right hand on the poster from 2015 set instructions. That's a katana. Not a glaive. edit: Oh, RIGHT hand. Looked at the wrong one. obsidianheart Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Listen, all I'm getting from this speculation is that we might get some cool trans-black weapons (Wishful thinking, that. They'll probably just be straight black). Anyway, speaking of wishful thinking, can one of you guys overseas who have a set with an Anananancondai (or whatever) Cultist in it tell me if this piece fits in the head with the skull helmet on? Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 yes. his weapon the Obsidian Glaive (?) has the ablitiy to see the ninjas memories so the ninja forget how to do spinjitzu (i thought you just had to say Ninja-GO!!) So the ninja need to find there obsidan weapons in order to get there memories back EDIT: Anachir beat me to it... Did they forget how to do Spinjitsu or did they lose ALL memories...? Quote
Mandate Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Did they forget how to do Spinjitsu or did they lose ALL memories...? They forget how to use their elemental powers, not Spinjitzu. And if it does remove their memories of spinjitzu techniques, then it's not confirmed at this time. Quote

I think the helmet is too thick in the back, but I'm not sure. By the way, that skull helmet is soft plastic. Quote
Meiko Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 They forget how to use their elemental powers, not Spinjitzu. And if it does remove their memories of spinjitzu techniques, then it's not confirmed at this time. Their ability to do spinjitzu would be a part of their elemental powers, so I'm pretty sure they don't remember spinjitzu techniques either. Quote

They're two very separate entities. Spinjitzu has never, in the plot, required you learn spinjitzu to use elemental powers, or unlock elemental powers to use spinjitzu. Quote

I thought a ninja couldn't use spinjitzu unless they had the elemental powers inside them or something. My mistake. Quote

The helmet very slightly gets in the way - the hairpiece attaches and looks good, but it isn't fitting 100% properly. Quote
obsidianheart Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 The helmet very slightly gets in the way - the hairpiece attaches and looks good, but it isn't fitting 100% properly. Hey, thanks! I have a few ideas now. Quote
Peasantseverywhere Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Just opened up my Boulder Blaster set that came in the mail today, i have to admit the snake cultist minifigures are the best minifigures i have ever laid my hands on, after collecting lego for 10 years now, the detail and armour on them is quite frankly stunning ! I'll have to agree with you there! The Dojo Showdown set I ordered got delivered today, and it's a great little set for the price. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Griffin Turner has a double sided face, which I didn't expect. Griffin is in fact my second favourite minifigure in the set, I love the little details on his torso, like his shuriken with a clock face on it, and his emblem that looks like a hourglass. All in all, £20 well spent! Quote
Peasantseverywhere Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Now after building the Boulder Blaster itself, i must admit that it is perfect. It resembles, to me personally, something from a world war scenario. I even had fun shooting the 8 missiles at the wall (Adults gotta have some fun sometimes, don't they ?) Quote

Mr Greeble Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Huh. Would not have expected it to look like that, thanks. Quote
Thelegomaster Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Does Karloff have a double sided face? Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Does Karloff have a double sided face? Oh boy, hope he has a metallic face on the other side! Quote
PenPlays Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Does Karloff have a double sided face? Oh boy, hope he has a metallic face on the other side! His head is reused from castle. It is a single sided head. Quote
Mandate Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 It's going to take forever for people to start spelling Karlof's name right, isn't it? Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 His head is reused from castle. It is a single sided head. Reused? Aww, that's really disappointing... Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Yes, he's also in a pirate set this year. Quote
