legofanatic12 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) We need collectible ninjago minifigs . If they release with the coincide of the LEGO Ninjago Movie. Just like The LEGO Movie series which they released in Jan 2014 before the film's release. Edited January 18, 2015 by legofanatic12 Quote

Just like The LEGO Movie series which they released in Jan 2014 before the film's release. I'm pretty sure you just missed the point. By a mile. Yup. But let's not all lose hope here. There are still plenty of sets that will be available this Summer for the rest of the Elemental Masters to release. Why would they just release Griffin Turner and Karloff (and technically Skylor for that matter) without releasing at least a few more of the figures. That's why I'm seriously convinced that we'll get sets that will be based off of the rest of the season of the show.* There is so much for Lego to do. *Seriously. Where in the world did so many people get the idea the the Tournament of Elements would be a single wave release? When did we ever get information that the Summer sets would be based off of a completely different story? Chima is the only series in recent memory that got a multi-plot-line year. Why are we all now convinced that the same thing is happening with Ninjago? The only thing that even remotely points towards a change is Ronin R.E.X., which, in case we forgot, was proven to be a set from the new video game (thank the anonymous sources). That doesn't automatically mean that the story is changed. If you watch the series thus far, you will notice, even in the first few episodes that there are clear references to the Summer Wave of sets (Destiny's Bounty is specifically what comes to mind). End of mini-rant. I know, this is out of the blue. All of our confusion should be appeased by this Tuesday. Well that depends on if we'll get detailed descriptions from sources, as the London Toy Fair typically doesn't allow pictures. Edited January 19, 2015 by Penkid11 Quote
TPLSTER21 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Although I want to get details on the summer sets as much as anyone, I would caution you all to set the bar very low for your expectations for information leaks from London Toy Fair. No photos allowed and security is very tight. Furthermore, the outlets that usually get invites to the event (Brickset comes to mind) have little to no interest in Ninjago and as such, do not bother to get details on the sets. In another 2 weeks we will get photos from the Nuremburg Toy Fair where photos are allowed. Quote
Thelegomaster Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Were photos allowed last year? Or was that a different fair? Quote
LK901 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 One of Brickimedia's members (I'm an admin for 'pedia), will be going, so I'm hoping for some descriptions of Ninjago and BIONICLE sets! Quote

PenPlays Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Don't give Brickset such a bad time. They tried hard last year (it still wasn't enough, but they tried). Mostly the blogging sites (and Brickimedia by the sounds of it) will be giving the low-down on the Action theme/Bionicle info. I wonder if Eurobricks will have a correspondent this year. Thanks to Aanchir all of those years ago, I think we had the best coverage of Summer sets to date. It's been a tad subpar since. He spoiled us with his skill. Were photos allowed last year? Or was that a different fair? They are at Nurenburg and at New York. London is usually always the first, and even though the other Toy Fairs will happen during the course of the following two weeks, Lego, if not the entire event itself, still asks for no photography. I'm really hoping for a home console ninjago video game with the release of the movie. It sounds about as possible as a Collectable minifigure line for the movie, which, thanks the Lego Movie, is now more likely now than, say, two years ago. It would be based off of the movie, though. Of course, if they really want me to spend my money on a Lego game again, they really should include TV adaptations for the show. That's just a silly dream of mine. Pulp Detective Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) Well maybe it's kinda off-topic what I'm about to say but I always wondered why you can't take pictures on the London toy fair??I mean it's not they holding top secret files or what not,we're talking about toys for God's sake!!! It's like they do it in purpose to annoy us toy fans and make us wait a couples weeks more until the new york toy fair is out. Not being rude here but I didn't mention the german toy fair since we never get worth while pictures from it. Edited January 19, 2015 by LOTR34 Quote

I'm flattered to hear people still think fondly of that NYTF coverage, even with as long as it took me to get it all posted! I think it was April before I had posted updates from all the different themes... there's a reason that other sites' coverage isn't always so in-depth (though I'm sure if I were more organized I could have had it all finished much quicker). That year, the tickets I received were actually on behalf of BIONICLEsector01, and I'm not sure if they received tickets this year (if they have, they haven't asked me to represent them). But you can generally count on BZPower to post nice, thorough New York Toy Fair coverage, and they usually have all the themes on display covered by the end of February. And they give quite a bit of attention to action/adventure themes compared to some other sites. Quote

Mandate Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 And we're getting through the plot awfully quickly (at least Canada and Korea are), something that didn't happen in any countries last year. But after some of the leaked Korean episodes, I'm not even sure what to think about the next wave. There's a plethora of stuff introduced that could be seen in sets, and then a complete lack of any unseen set-based vehicles (unless you count Nya's giant WIP in the Samurai Cave) But also Airjitzu, etc. There's two very distinct themes here, that have nearly nothing to do with one another. PenPlays Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I think people were speculating that it would be a one-wave thing like Outlands because the TV series is rumored to have the same number of episodes Outlands did (9)... The Outlands wave had 6 episodes. Again. It is rumor, yet somehow everybody is acting like that means the Tournament of Elements Season won't encompass both of the Winter/Spring and Summer waves. Lest we forget that all of this years Chima sets premiered in only two measly episodes. And we're getting through the plot awfully quickly (at least Canada and Korea are), something that didn't happen in any countries last year. I don't mind a quick season. As long as it's entertaining. I just wish that they'd give all of Chima's money that they aren't using this year to Ninjago so that we could have a longer season, regardless of filler arcs. Quote
Mandate Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Oh, that's right! I had forgotten about the Destiny's Bounty being remade. Quote

Mandate Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 After seeing Jang's review on the Titanium Dragon, I can't help but like it even more now. It's very cat-like in its appearance, which is very unique for a NINJAGO dragon and now I'm looking forward to getting it even more Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Does anyone read Japanese here? I'm trying to figure out the symbols on the ninjas' new cowls. I can read Chinese, and I can only read these: Kai: Peace Jay: Goat (I know, goat?!?! What is Lego thinking... I guess 2015 is the Year of the Goat in the Chinese calendar, but still.) Lloyd: Fight/struggle Skylor: Six Zane and Cole's are the ones I can't figure out. Zane's looks like the character for mountain, but it has an additional stroke on the top right. Quote

DarthLeapyous Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) NOOO ANACONDRAI????............hopefully we will get some in the Ninjago Temple..... Wait.....HOW DO THE SPINNERS FLY?? Edited January 20, 2015 by DarthLeapyous Quote
Aanchir Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 NOOO ANACONDRAI????............hopefully we will get some in the Ninjago Temple..... I'm not tremendously disappointed about that. Not counting the 2012 Pythor, we have three Anacondrai now, which is just short of the four characters we got from every other Serpentine tribe. Granted, they don't follow the same Scout>Soldier>Warrior>General ranking system as the previous Serpentine tribes. But it's certainly more than I ever expected to see before we heard about this "Tournament of Elements" wave! Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Ghosts? Not sure how I feel about this, I hope this is good! Quote

Here's some advice: 1) You're late to the party (particularly on Jay's symbol being about year of the goat) by two whole years. 2) Ninja are Japanese. Not Chinese. You've got the wrong language, bro. Ninjago news from London! "Ninjago, very popular still. General theme is Ghosts. Lots of sets comes with ghost minions (look like Slimers). Lots of Glow in the dark elements. Glad to hear that they are spinners, but I'm fearing for the survival of the battle/card capabilities. 70733 Cole’s Earth Bike 70737 Titan Mech Battle £39.99 (two huge fighting mechs) 70735 Ronin Rex £39.99 70736 Ghost Dragon (Chinese style dragon) 70738 Final Flight of Destiny’s Bounty £99.9 (holes cut in fabric wings to make it look ragged) So... Sensei Wu's dragon is... a ghost now? Didn't Sensei Wu being technically dead get retconned way back in the Minisodes? But anyway, sounds kinda weird. Not sure if I like where this is going. Quote
