Thelegomaster Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Well... WHERE!?!? Just put a link in the post, go check them out! Quote
DraikNova Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Thanks! EDIT: I am absolutely in love with the Morro Dragon. It has the best color scheme EVER. And tr. neon green Chima claws? Yes please! And that build. So serpentine. The tail seems like it might be solid, though. Hopefully, that's just the blurry pictures and it'll be fully poseable. Then again, it looks like it is built using curved bricks and significant SNOT to give it it's "tank tread" look. Those wings seem mighty interesting too. The Wu dragon is rather pathetic, though. That seems like it could be just due to being further behind in the design phase, so there's still hope. Not sure what to make of that temple, or that hammer/gun thingy. I do want to know how a car counts as a "Walker". I mean, they've never referred to Jay's last name in the sets, and the only time it ever appeared at all, it was in the credits. The Titan Mechs are a mixed bag. On the one hand, there's the one that shares it's colors with the Morro Dragon. On the other hand, there's the very plain mostly white one. I think the Morro Mech makes this one worth picking up. Also, Nya. The Cole bike seems like a nice set, although I'm not too fond of the way it uses the gatling gun pieces. They seem rather exposed. I love that they're showing Spinjitzu on the box art again. It's almost become an artifact (sub)title. The Ronin R.E.X. seems like a better version of the main Atlantis sub, which was one of my favorites. It also includes the fire pieces used for the Chima Phoenix in what looks like either yellow mixed with black or yellow mixed with dark blue. I may pick this one up if I still have money. The new Bounty seems far more substantial than the first one. And it includes a mini-dragon with neon green and black versions of the aforementioned fire piece. Definitely picking this one up if I have a chance. Edited January 23, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
Mr Greeble Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Ronin REX is not a T-Rex? Weird. It looks like they are using jade blades... Quote
Thelegomaster Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Was the Jay set mentioned in any of the lists? Quote
Pulp Detective Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I like the spooky vibe you get from the sets.I think I noticed a light in the dark katana, now that's cool!!! Quote
DraikNova Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Just noticed: the Morro Mech has tr. neon green versions of the shortest CCBS bones. This summer will be very very expensive. EDIT: And the Morro Dragon has either tr. neon green or lime Ninjago blades. Edited January 23, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
Mandate Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Oh gosh... I don't know what to say. Let me sum up my thoughts in an emote. Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty indeed... I want it to stay that way now I can't quite put my finger on what makes all of these look disgusting to me. The Morro Dragon looks like a badly-designed Asian dragon, the DB 2.0 is a futuristic mess, Cole's bike is designed in the weirdest way possible, the Titan Mech looks incredibly stiff (the Morro Mech is kinda cool, but it's just a ghost version of Garmadon's mech from 2013), Wu's dragon is... well, not good, and Jay's car looks like something out of Time Cruisers. Where is the Asian architectural style? Where are the half-believable vehicles? Why are all the Mech designs recycled from earlier concepts? What a let-down of a final set series (and story arc). LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 So this confirms a Ronin wave. Ronin is in the final flight of the Destiny's Bounty and a few others! This also confirms the presence of set 70731 and presumably also 70732 giving us a HUGE 9 sets wave and very exciting might I add. Quote
Mandate Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 So this confirms a Ronin wave. Ronin is in the final flight of the Destiny's Bounty No he isn't. Quote
Arkanta974 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) It's me or the dark mecha look like garmadon's mecha from the series ? i'm disappointed about Ronin Rex, not a huge fan ! However look like we will have many figures for this wave, especially from the destiny bounty Edited January 23, 2015 by Arkanta974 Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 No he isn't. You're right. Sorry, I didn't see the fig with the Red hat and scarf. Either way, all nine sets connect based on Character similarities and over-arching bad guy color scheme, (Green and Black). So Ronin will play a part in the this wave. whether it's post "Shadows of Ronin" and he's in the series now, he will be part of this series (season 5) Quote
Dorayaki Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Pretty irrelevant addon. Just pass local Toysrus today and see a new promotional artwork for Chinese New Year. Not sure if this artwork could also be seen in other areas. The current promotion campaign includes free red envelopes. Honestly, Kai's smile looks abit creepy (not creepier than the "universial smile" though). Quote
Pulp Detective Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Poor Kai what have they done to your face Quote
DarthLeapyous Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Are those semi-translucent green legs i spot? Well......these sets do look quite good indeed (even if I was hoping for more serpentine) and by far the most striking thing are those dragons! It seems that Sensei Wu's dragon has a moulded head piece resembling a Chinese dragon....but the Morro Dragon looks absolutely terrific. I would go out and say that is the best Ninjago dragon to date, even if it is a prelim. Love the colour schemes. It almost doesn't seem as if Ronin is the main bad guy, he doesn't seem to have the same colour scheme as the rest of the baddies - he is more of a red colour scheme than the (awesome) black/dark blue and lime green. Also, in the Destiny's bounty set it seems that there are perhaps Elemental Masters.....maybe it will tie in with the tv show? I am glad to see that their are a lot of minifigures with the sets. Overly impressive. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Wow, Ninjago's getting weird. Those mechs and the Moro Dragon are probably some of the best sets from this line. Wow. Images were found of the summer wave. http://imgur.com/a/TcSC0 Where exactly did you find this link? -Sci Edited January 23, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Titan Mech ghost vehicle looks like a four-armed Samurai Mech, which isn't necessarily a bad thing... Right down to the train guards as shoulder armor etc. Quote
BringHimSoup Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Ok, let's see how many armies have been in Ninjago so far... Skeletons Serpentine Stone Army Nindroids Anacondrai Ghosts That's 6 armies so far. Quote
EdWebhead Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The dragons look nice, especially the Morro Dragon, which is a must-have for me. I also like the ghost mech. As for the others, they don't look too interesting. I have to see clearer pictures before I judge them too quickly. Quote
JasonEffex Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 There's definitely some interesting stuff going on in this wave: It seems like there's a tonne of minifigures in these sets, more than usual, (Skylor doesn't seem to be one of them, unfortunately ). It's obviously Ronin in the Ronin REX set, but it looks like he is fighting the ghosts alongside Kai. Also, could that be an Airjitzu piece in that set? And, the ghosts look like they are firing a pizza at Wu's dragon Quote
DraikNova Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Also, could that be an Airjitzu piece in that set? Sure looks like it. You can see the plastic bubble and the three "wings" on the edges of the tornado. Not too happy with that design, it's pretty ugly. Edited January 23, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
BringHimSoup Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) There's still a chance that Ronin is Kai's father. Edited January 23, 2015 by BringHimSoup Quote
CET23 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 It seems like the White Titan Mech is Zane's "vehicle" which is nice since it looks like it is the only set he is in (he also hasn't had a mech yet). It's also interesting that Lloyd is back on the box art but he only seems to be in the Destiny's Bounty set. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 That's not Lloyd. It's lime, like the ghost-things. Quote
