Mandate Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 It's their hoods. Check out Lloyd and Cole in Destiny's Bounty. If only we could get a good look at Zane! Cole is in the Destiny's Bounty as well (he's pictured, at least). I don't really like the look they're going for, but I've only seen them at awkward angles so... Would this count as a close confirmation that the Azure guy is Dareth? (or at least, a look-alike?) Quote
Mr Greeble Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 No, I am not Curtis Cheng. Why do you ask? Well, he thought you were someone on the internet that has been uploading Ninjago videos just because you have the same avatar. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Is it me or the minifigs(I'm talking about the video)from the new sets are actually not the new ones?? I mean when the Morro Dragon set appears I noticed that Kai has his torso from last year sets. Quote
Mandate Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Well, he thought you were someone on the internet that has been uploading Ninjago videos just because you have the same avatar. I'll speak for myself, thanks. Is it me or the minifigs(I'm talking about the video)from the new sets are actually not the new ones?? I mean when the Morro Dragon set appears I noticed that Kai has his torso from last year sets. They were probably near-finalized models deemed close enough to the end product that they used it for the promo. I didn't notice the Kai thing (and it's 11 PM, so I'm not going to go back and check), but I did notice the ZX hoods. Quote
Colossus Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I'm very intrigued by all the new Ninjago sets! More dragons, and more new characters! Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 The new Destiny's Boynty looks like a well-designed set; Won't buy it for full price but got to grab that gorgerous printed shield somewhere. The Very Bright Green dragon looks quite cool too, liking how they made the curling body shape. Quote
badbob001 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) Comparing the earlier heads-on photo of the Destiny's Bounty with the one shown in the Ninjago Promo video, I definitely see some differences. The video one doesn't look as skinny and back-heavy as the photo, but it's likely the photo was taken at an unflattering angle. The photo version has more printing/stickers, as is most evident in the sails. This may mean this version is closer to final than the video version. It also shows the rear side engines/wings having more gold trim and are extended out. The roof of the cabin looks complex with it being made of the blade-like pieces that were previously used for dragon wings. The sails are in a helicopter-like configuration. The front dragon-head has a boom sticking out from it. The video version looks wider and sturdy, mostly likely from the side engines/wings being retracted. The sails are in a wing-like almost-traditional-sail configuration that looks rather good. The roof of the cabin looks smooth and is sloped up from front to back, which looks rather sleek. The front-dragon head has no boom. The rear shot of the cabin is especially nice looking and looks very steampunk-ish. It's likely that the photo shows the DB in flight-mode and the video one is in water-mode. The dragon-head boom is probably something that extends out (is it a perch for the black dragon?). I'm not sure if the differences between the cabin roof is due to some sort of transformation or is an actual design change, but I hope it's more like the video-version. The greeble placements of weapons are also different between the two versions. The DB2 has now moved from a non-purchase to a maybe. :) Edited January 28, 2015 by badbob001 Quote
Cagast Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) Another picture of Destiny's Bounty... This minifigure looks female. Nya? Edited January 28, 2015 by Cagast Quote
DraikNova Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Or, as the brown color indicates, Dareth. I'm more interested in that new blended semitranslucent sword piece off on the side though . Quote
Mr Greeble Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Another picture of Destiny's Bounty... This minifigure looks female. Nya? Uh, sorry to burst your bubble, but that minifige has neither thin waist, breasts, or the classic red-black color. I'm betting more on Dareth now that we can see the symbol. Quote

I'm betting more on Dareth now that we can see the symbol. I know, but the eyes look strange, more like female eyes. (that's probably just a shadow, and I'm probably wrong. ) I don't like transparent legs on ghosts, makes them look thin. Quote

It'll be interesting to see who this person is. I would go along with the dareth theory, but why is he blue? And not just black and brown. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I'm loving the function where you press down on the Technic beam/liftarm on either side to fire all three cannons! Quote
JasonEffex Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) I also think that those eyes look more female. Don't forget that there was a Nya minifigure on the preliminary pictures for this set, and all the other minifigures in the prelim seem to be there. The dark red makes sense as dark red was used quite a bit on the Samurai Mech. Another thing is where the belt is printed; it's on her torso, similar to how in the winter wave, Skylor also has her belt here while all the other ninja have it printed on the top of their leg piece. And personally, I thought that that symbol looked like Nya's phoenix emblem. On a side note, I am really liking how the new DB is turning out, a few more pictures at different angles and I might just be persuaded to buy it! Edited January 28, 2015 by JasonEffex Quote

Airjitzu is looking better and better.... But, I saw sevem flyers, not six.... Seems we are getting another ghost flyer :) Edited January 28, 2015 by LK901 Quote
Cagast Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) How? There are six in this video. The ghost flyer with purple minifigure is Wrayth flyer. Edited January 28, 2015 by Cagast Quote
DraikNova Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Eegh, the Morro Mech is an absolute mess. Brown and dark blue can work, but not with tr. neon green, bley and black. Too bad that, as far as changes go, color schemes are unlikely. The weird plant-thing-on-a-staff being held by the driver intrigues me though. And the blades appear to be a more opaque tr. neon green, as opposed to tr. apple green. The Morro Dragon, however, seems more cohesive in this video. It may just be that Morro's dark green pushed the look over the edge in pictures, but I love the way it looks now. And the mixel joints in the tail do wonders for articulation. The brickbuilt nature of the Airjitzu holders was unexpected, but welcome, yet the fact that the weapons serve no purpose is kind of annoying. I doubt I'll get any of them. The Ronin R.E.X. seems slightly less ugly, but only slightly. The DB 2.0 still looks wonderful. All the functions are great too. And the Mini-Morro dragons are quite appealing as well. Sensei Wu's Dragon seems to pull of a feline aesthetic quite well. The blue teapot is the most beautiful piece I've ever seen. And the use of modified plates as eyes works wonderfully. Definitely picking this one up now. This is definitely going to be an expensive year for me, Ninjago-wise. Quote
LK901 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 How? There are six in this video. The ghost flyer with purple minifigure is Wrayth flyer. Ooups! Sorry, only six Seems that the airjitzu ninja's are a different suit to the main sets... The temple in Titan Mech battle look awesome. Zane's mech looks ok, and I kinda like the Morro Mech. DB2 is astounding. Love everything about it. And who is the mysterious azure ninja... REX is cool. Might, or might not get it. Wu's dragon looks weird. Looks like a dog with wings, for some reason... But, I might get it, just for the teapot Quote
DraikNova Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) Huh, the blades of the Morro Mech are Spring Green. EDIT: And the Morro Dragon has 1*4 tiles in tr. neon green! I thought I'd missed my chance to get those when I didn't find the Galaxy Squad bug polybag. Edited January 28, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
JasonEffex Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) Regarding my earlier post about that red/blue ninja: in the toy fair video, I managed to spot Nya in her samurai gear in the Titan Mech set. So who is that ninja? I still think she's female, judging by where the belt is and her eyes. It could be Nya in a ninja suit, or someone entirely new. Anyway, I bought the Electromech today, and it's a great set (especially considering that I only paid £7.99 rather than £12.99 for it! ), very fun! Edited January 28, 2015 by JasonEffex Quote
DraikNova Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) The fact that the suit is a brownish red doesn't help with the identification either. Although, all of the other figures with that mask piece have their elemental colors as the "visor". So it could be the rumored Master of Water. Or Nya chose a blue visor because blue is her favorite color. Or any of a dozen possibilities, really. Edited January 28, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
Arkanta974 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 So the figure from the airjitzu is a new nrg figures ? However look very cool ! I will buy all of them ! Quote

badbob001 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I just saw the Atamaii TV video and the Destiny's Bounty was significantly changed from the prelim promo video. It got less wide, perhaps loss some length, and the hull looks much less substantial. So less like a flying boat and more like a flying shoe. And I'm not liking the change to smaller sails. I wonder if the rear engine from the prelim is retained as some sort of pop-out feature. Quote
