LegendsOfNinjago Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Well, from what I have seen of the summer sets they are certainly....different. The downside for me is that outside of the Destiny Bounty and Cole's Motorcycle sets, it appears that most of the sets seem to be sorely lacking in play features. No missiles, shooters, detachable pieces, hidden action features, nada. The mech's, which you would think would be very "gimmick heavy" seem to do nothing other than hold their weapons, which to me is just unacceptable in a set at that price point. Ronin R.E.X.'s main feature seems to be "turning propellers when ripcord is pulled" which is a total snore. I hope that the set descriptions will reveal more features. Also, I see that there are supposed to be 10 sets, but it looks like we only saw 5 (DB, Morrow Dragon, Mechs, Wu Dragon, REX). I know 2 of the unseen sets are Cole's bike and Jay's "Walker", but can anyone tell me what the other 3 are? Along with the 7 you have we have 70730 Which has been named "Chain Cycle Ambush," we also have 70732, which has yet to be named. I think 70751 the "Ninjago Temple" may be the 10th of this wave. For some reason I felt like we had another set somewhere...hmmm, I've never really included the Temple until now. Quote
Aanchir Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 featuring Cole's bike, and a detailed look at many of the other sets!It looks like Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty and possibly some of the other sets come with spare hair pieces for the Ninja, even though they wear full hoods in those sets! Quite nice! Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I feel the urge to collect all of the ghost sets. Those colors just look so good. All that Spring Green... Quote
DraikNova Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) I'm also planning on collecting most of this wave. I just want to build an upgraded Morro Dragon, perhaps using the Chimas spider legs in Spring green/GitD that are featured in some of the mini dragons as horns instead of the blades the official version uses. I may even have to buy the set twice, just for parts. And I've already come up with a customization I want to apply to the Morro Mech. EDIT: The Wu Dragon uses a new Mixel joint piece on it's tail! It's like that minifig-clip piece that Chima used so much for guns, but with a Mixel ball instead of a clip. EDIT2: YES! Finally, a black version of that blade piece from 2012. And the shurikens seem to use one central part that seems like a fusion between the Atlantis keys and a three-sided version of the omnidirectional modified brick. EDIT3: Cole's blaster bike uses a brown version of the SW gatling gun. Incidentally, does anyone know whether all of the Spring green pieces used by the dragons are GitD or just some of them? EDIT4: Damn, the other pictures show them to be black. I recall that we got a price list a long time ago. Does anyone still have it? Edited February 5, 2015 by DraikNova Quote

Karateduo1 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I thought that at first, but then I realized that the person who was holding it was just moving the wings with his fingers. The lack of features with a lot of these sets is a big downside, especially for the morro dragon, which as far as I can tell, just glows in the dark like everything else in this wave. For me, how the sets look makes up for the lack of features, a lot more than the final battle sets did (that were also low on features). But it is a step down from previous waves. If you look at the picture with the dragon, you can clearly see the finger trigger under the middle curve and the wing pulleys right where the wing attaches. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 These new sets look amazing to me, and I've never even been into Ninjago. I'm actually not loving the look of the Morro figures themselves, but I love their dragons! Especially the main Morro dragon has such a nice color scheme. I'm also excited to see the katanas in that greenish color - new colors for swords is always a good thing in my book. To perhaps add speculation to the 'Nya mystery Ninja' debate, there's a picture in that video that shows alternate hairpieces for the figures in the new Destiny's Bounty. Fairly certain it's Nya's bowl cut lying there (along with Lloyd's and Cole's hair plus a tricorn for some reason), though it doesn't absolutely have to be. Quote
JasonEffex Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 It's amazing how ones opinion can change after seeing a few more pictures, forget what I said earlier about this being a step down from previous waves, I really like how these sets are turning out! After noticing more features and other cool things with these sets, my opinion has changed quite a bit. Now that we have more clear pictures, I'm going to quickly share my thoughts inside this spoiler tag: Blaster Bike: We finally get to see some good pictures of this set, I like its low and wide look, and how it incorporates two of the rapid shooters. They look like they can be raised up slightly into an attack mode too. The little dragon is quite nice too, especially the head! Sensei Wu's Dragon: I really like how parts are used on this one, like the croissants for ears, and the unikitty tails for its moustache. Everything about this set just looks very nice and well built. Also, that little cart for the ghosts appears to use a disk shooter first used in this year Chima sets. Ronin REX: I wouldn't have said this earlier, but having had time to look over the pictures, this is now my favourite of the wave. I like how it looks with its unique colour and style, and how those front cannons can be folded away. And here's another thing, its pretty big compared to the DB 2! Titan Mech Battle: I don't mind how the ghost mech looks a little messy, It looks like the ghost minifigures and how they wear ragged clothing! Zane's mech also has a couple of stud shooters on it, and everything else with this set seems fine to me. Attack of the Morro Dragon: Perhaps I was a little harsh on this set earlier, possibly because I was comparing it to the mechdragon, but the thing with that set is that its very stiff in places where the functions are, while with this dragon, it's a lot more flexible and looks a lot better. Final Flight of the Destiny's Bounty: Compared to the first one, this is just bigger and better. I've always been a fan of sets where there's an even balance of hero and villain minifigures and builds, and to me, this set is a perfect balance. The DB may be bigger, but the set also features a small army of ghosts (7, if you count the minions). It looks like there's just so much fun to be had with this one. Quote
GoldenChi Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I think I saw 4 different 'morro dragons' : two mini, single seaters; the medium-sized one that comes with the REX; and the main big one. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I think the second largest dragon comes with the DB, I wish the Ghosts had a better color scheme. Quote
PenPlays Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Clone OPatra beat me to it, but... I'm loving how all of these sets look. I really hope we get a look at the Jay Walker One next weekend. Same thing with the Chain Cycle Ambush. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Cole's bike is probably the Chain Cycle. Quote
Mr Greeble Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Did anyone else see the two fire dragon swords on the front of the Ronin REX? So happy they are making those again! Quote
Boogly22238 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 One dark samurai/ghost ninja has a torso similar to one from 2011..I really enjoy that. Quote
DuckBricks Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Did anyone else see the two fire dragon swords on the front of the Ronin REX? So happy they are making those again! Yeah, those elements were the best! Too bad they only worked on making a show accurate Fire Sword and not the rest of the Golden Weapons... Well, I guess that's what 3-D printers are for! Quote
Mandate Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) British NINJAGO wesbite has been updated again, now with a Gallery, an awesome poster of Lloyd, more character bios and... stuff. EDIT: Pythor has gotten his own video! With clips from episodes 43 and 44 only. Edited February 6, 2015 by Mandate Quote

DuckBricks Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Glad that Pythor got his video, although it kinda spoils the ending a bit... Edited February 6, 2015 by legozebra Quote

Fairly certain it's Nya's bowl cut lying there (along with Lloyd's and Cole's hair plus a tricorn for some reason), though it doesn't absolutely have to be. Please change the hair piece in the final product... I was hoping for another Skylor, and this time with a hood (I have the figure minus the hood)! If that's true...we're getting two variants of Nya this wave for a total of three unique Nya figures this year! Quote
Mandate Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 If that's true...we're getting two variants of Nya this wave for a total of three unique Nya figures this year! Only if you count a single altered piece. In the event that you don't (like me) we're only getting two. Armor schmarmor, the core detailing and build of the figure is where it's at. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I agree, placing nya in different armor, doesn't qualify as a new fig. same reason I didn't like kendo. there was nothing new to them but armor that was the same for every one. Quote
legofanatic12 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Maybe the remaining elemental masters will be release physically in 2016. Hopefully they featured in the Ninjago spinoff film instead of having a new characters. Quote
Aanchir Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I did some shopping at Barnes & Noble earlier and was happy to see that A Team Divided actually contains an original story, not just an adaptation of a TV episode like the previous chapter book Snake Attack! Specifically, it takes place prior to the current season, showing how the Ninja first part ways and settle into the non-Ninja roles we see them in at the start of the current season. As I see it, it's an exceptionally well-written book. Props to Tracey West for crafting a story that feels so authentic and seamlessly bridges the gap between Ninjago: Rebooted and the new season. Really? That's cool. I still remember being annoyed over Snake Attack when I first bought it. Fortunately, it was a book collection pack, so I got all the *CHARACTER*: NINJA OF *ELEMENT* books at the same time. Quote
Mr Greeble Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I usually just read the books in the store if they don't have any exclusives. Quote
