AyliffeMakit Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Really? Okay, name me a significant flaw in Lloyd's character. He has an amazingly annoying voice that sounds like an obnoxious 10-year-old whose voice hasn't broken yet. Seriously, am I the only one annoyed by this? In other news, this appeared on my Twitter feed a couple of minutes ago: I don't know how authentic it is or where exactly it's from, but it's pretty neat nonetheless. Quote

In other news, this appeared on my Twitter feed a couple of minutes ago: *regretful snip* I don't know how authentic it is or where exactly it's from, but it's pretty neat nonetheless. The issue is that Jillian Michaels was perfect for little Lloyd, but began to be in issue, when travelers tea came into the mix. Post puberty is not her forte when it comes to voicing boys. But one tends to live with it. This should probably be in the TV thread in Culture and Multimedia... That mural is epic. Let us know if you find any more details on it. Who posted the image? I must follow them!!! Quote
Ninja of Fire Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Really? Okay, name me a significant flaw in Lloyd's character. All develop into Lloyd's character has been, exclusively, idealistic. Any "development" that happened in Season 4's premiere was also idealistic. Lloyd never rushes into battle angrily like he did once or twice in Rebooted. He keeps his cool, he's smart, he's hardworking, he's the only ninja that stuck around when Zane died, he's the new team leader, he only does what is right, and worst of all he is: The Chosen One. Whereas the rest of the ninja and their allies: Jay is annoying, Kai is ignorant, Zane is weird, Cole is Cole, Pixal is unemotional, Borg has a disability, Wu has a past he's uncomfortable with and a sort-of crush on his brother's wife, Garmadon has a past he's uncomfortable with and is stern and strict, Dareth is goofy, Nya has some difficulties with choosing and can be overconfident, and Skylor can be cold and very... submissive (though this changes later in Season 4, and I'm glad it does) Those are flaws. That makes the characters seem human, and not some god-like chosen one. Making a character seem relatable is an important thing in a kid's show, and while I like Lloyd a lot he's far too one-dimensional. Oh, and the books are not canon. Ever. While I haven't read the book in question, it's a general, and currently exceptionless, rule with NINJAGO that the books aren't canon unless they are transcripts of an episode. Lloyd gets easily defeated, and has partial trouble using his Elemental Power. Quote
PenPlays Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) Lloyd gets easily defeated, and has partial trouble using his Elemental Power. I do not recall a time that he was easily defeated. He was either forced to, or it was because another ninja was written to defeat that particular enemy. Again, this all belongs in the Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu thread in the Culture and Multimedia section. Edited March 6, 2015 by Penkid11 Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Guys. Can you natter about Marty Stus (or Wesley Crushers) and media stuff that really has no bearing on the toys, somewhere else. Thanks. Quote
TPLSTER21 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Hi Everyone. I sent an email to Sir Von Lego, who has access to a summer retailer catalog and asked him if he could provide any details on sets 70730 (Chain Cycle Ambush) and 70732 (unknown set). He responded that neither set was listed in the catalog that he saw. Not sure what to make of that, but since "Jai Walker" is 70731 and Cole's bike is 70733 then surely there is a set 70732? There is a chance, I suppose that since 70733 is the smallest set (so far) of the summer waves that perhaps 70730-32 are retailer exclusives that form a separate sub-series of sets much like the tournament of elements sets had different series numbering from the main Anacondrai sets? I know this has been discussed in the forum already, but since I had the info from Sir Von Lego, I figured it was worth sharing. Quote

That's pretty neat. I'm going to do something stupid and say that that's probably going to be the worst version of Zane we've gotten, in terms of looks. Powder blue, white and mainly black just doesn't look right. Quote
horizon Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Even worse then the baby blue Zane? ;) Anyhow it just occured to me that it is better for Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane to find a new Sensei (family). The Garmaddon family is quite vulnerable to the dark powers: 1) Lord Garmaddon becomes evil by a snake bite 2) Sensei Wu, Garmaddon's brother becomes taken by the Overlord and becomes a Picard-Borg 3) Lloyd is Lord Garmaddon's son and will be possessed by ghosts so it seems. lol Edited March 7, 2015 by horizon Quote
Ninja of Fire Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Who else is going to become their Sensei? Certainly not Ronin... Quote
Mr Greeble Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Who else is going to become their Sensei? Certainly not Ronin... Y'know, I'm wondering if he won't be that bad of a bad guy. I'm betting he will eventually help the ninjas, after all, Kai does launch of his ship to fight ghosts! Quote
horizon Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Who else is going to become their Sensei? Certainly not Ronin... They should be their own Sensei.... Well ronin seems evil so that family (cough kai cough nya) has the taint of Garmaddon as well. Edited March 7, 2015 by horizon Quote
PenPlays Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Who else is going to become their Sensei? Certainly not Ronin... Ah but if the rumors are true, we'll just be back to having two father-figures of a family running the place again. Unless Ronin's *ahem* demise is a major plot point for a certain pair of red characters that he may or may not refer to as family. Quote
horizon Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I am still pretty proud that I was the first to say that Ronin was Kai's and Nya's father on this very forum. After the first image was shown here. Quote

All you need to do is shave frequently... If you don't, you get pretty susceptible to stubble... Not to mention the identical cheek/facial structure and wrinkles around the eyes. Not to mention the identical cheek/facial structure and wrinkles around the eyes. Identical? Lolno, Kai's father's cheek structure goes almost directly upwards, Ronin's slopes off to the side. Eyebrows have a different shaping, Ronin's are thinner whereas KF's are thicker. The wrinkles are disputable because of facial animation, but I will stand by my point: Kai's father and Ronin have significantly different facial features Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Seriously? Does this affect the LEGO sets? They're LEGO figures, there is no possible way to have family resemblance between them. (What with the lack of chin, nose, ears and brow) Heck, put a head on a new torso/leg combo and with a different headgear and you have a whole new character. So, take it to culture and multimedia. While I'm not going to argue that that discussion is better suited to culture and multimedia, your comment that Lego figures can't possibly have a family resemblance is way off base. Just look at Josh Thunder compared to his dad, Johnny. Yeah, they lack the specific facial features you mentioned, but they still resemble one another in other ways (in particular, they're both doing the same eyebrow thing, which may not be a genetic trait but is certainly enough to convey a family resemblance in such an abstract medium). And... that's all I really had to say. Something, something... Ninjago? Quote
bricksnator Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Something.. something.. Ninjago. Has anyone tried to piece together the unreleased Elemental Masters from existing figures? Aside from Pale Man and Toxikita? Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I've loomed into it. The pieces you need for the other fighters don't exist in the colors needed. Quote
bricksnator Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I've loomed into it. The pieces you need for the other fighters don't exist in the colors needed. I had a feeling that was the case. Though it's water over the bridge at this point, I would have loved to see the other Elemental Masters released with their corresponding flag/sticker that could be swapped into the Dojo Showdown in place of Kai and Karloff. legofanatic12 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) Something.. something.. Ninjago. Has anyone tried to piece together the unreleased Elemental Masters from existing figures? Aside from Pale Man and Toxikita? Maybe you'll find out once the new Ninjago Dictionary Book revealed. I hope it would be either Ash, Bolobo, Camille, Gravis, Jacob, Lar, Neuro, and Shadow. If they include other TV exclusive minifigures, I'll go for Misako and Rebooted Nya. Please not the Anacondrai form of Skylor or Eyezor and any existing Ninjago minifigs that are already made in sets such as the Rebooted Zane. Edited March 8, 2015 by legofanatic12 Quote
