Mandate Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 This is assumed to be the possessed version of Lloyd, but in a way you could say it is Morro since it seems Morro is the one possessing Lloyd. This minifigure appears to be the regular version of Morro: http://news.toyark.c...Ninjago-029.jpg . The interesting thing is that he has the same symbol as Lloyd, so we will have to wait for the show to flesh out that detail but it could be possible that Morro was a much older green ninja. There have been no "green ninjas" before Lloyd. And no, he doesn't have the same symbol as Lloyd. It's very different to Lloyd's in many different ways. Quote

just2good Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 So is this minifigure lloyd or morro? I've heard it's morro, but then i hear it's possessed lloyd. http://vignette2.wik...=20150211034802 In the most recent LEGO retail catalog for the US, he's the Evil Green Ninja. Also, the Destiny Bounty set says it includes Nya's Workshop, so I'm guessing she's that unknown ninja in the set. Quote

CET23 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) I'm just going to leave this here so people can compare the symbols between Lloyd and Morro and decide for themselves how similar they are: http://imgur.com/HvHmdUF Edit: I found clearer pictures so I revised my comparison pic: http://imgur.com/iIq346P . I also went back and found this picture taken at the toy fair: http://toyfair15.asmzine.com/gallery/lego/ninjago/slides/DSC03563.html . I'm NOT saying that this ( http://i.ytimg.com/vi/S8YhwWg4LNY/hqdefault.jpg ) particular minifigure is Lloyd; in fact I believe it is Morro. I just wanted to note these similarities to make a case that this minifigure ( http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/lego/images/e/e9/Morroo.png/revision/latest?cb=20150211034802 ) has a possibility of being Lloyd when possessed by Morro. Mandate Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I'm just going to leave this here so people can compare the symbols between Lloyd and Morro and decide for themselves how similar they are: http://imgur.com/HvHmdUF Morro's symbol has big bushy eyebrows, and the tendrils at the back of the head have a thinner base and are longer than the ones on Lloyd. Morro's is also rounded and shorter at the bottom, giving it a "Grumpy Cat" look. As I said before, they are similar, but most certainly not the same. Morro's outfit in general is inspired by different incarnations of the ninja, the mouth scarf from Rebooted, the torso from 2011, and the pants are inspired by both the Kimono forms and the Zukin outfits. He isn't Lloyd, he isn't going to become Lloyd, he is a separate character entirely who will in fact appear this way in the next season and does make an appearance in season 4. Whether or not he possesses Lloyd like the Overlord possessed Garmadon, or if Lloyd will be corrupted (and he likely will be) remains to be seen. Quote

Here's what we know. -Morro wears an emblem similar to Lloyd's. -Lloyd gets possessed (Toy Fair info) -Morro is a ghost warrior -Ghosts/spirits can possess creatures/people There are signs that it is possible that Lloyd will be possessed by Morro. Will it happen? Maybe. Maybe not. It's as plausible as Ronin being the Master of Fire. Just because Morro is the main bad does not mean that he can be sidelined as Morroyd (Morro/Lloyd) takes the show. Besides, if Lloyd is to be possessed by Morro, technically possessed Lloyd is still just Morro. The only change is that he has a host. Quote

Mandate Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 *Ahem*... Is there some other things you would like to say? Yeah, sure. "Evil Green Ninja". Doesn't sound like "Lloyd transforming into Morro thus making two of them!" to me. Nor does it sound like Morro possessing Lloyd. When I said "Lloyd will not become Morro, and Morro will not become Lloyd" I meant that literally. Unless you're trying to convince me the Morro figure is actually Lloyd, I'm done arguing plot details with you in the set thread. Quote
Ninja of Fire Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I think that we've overlooked something: Morro doesn't have a Cursed Realm Spirit smoke thing variant, I wonder why that is... Quote

I wasn't talking about him transforming into Lloyd. I was saying that he will enter Lloyd making them become one. Lloyd's body, with Morro's complete control and motives. And when and if (hypothetically speaking) Morro should leave, Lloyd will be Lloyd (albeit, probably disturbed) and Morro will be a separate entity again. Anyway, yes, plot details, should go in Culture and Multimedia. I think that we've overlooked something: Morro doesn't have a Cursed Realm Spirit smoke thing variant, I wonder why that is... It doesn't matter that much. It would be cool if we got an all green variant of that piece for him, though. Quote
Wineyard Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Is the red conical hat from set 70735 in ordinary red or dark red? Quote
CET23 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Is the red conical hat from set 70735 in ordinary red or dark red? From this video it certainly seems to be a darker red. Especially if you look at Ronin next to Kai on the bottom right corner of the box at the 0:16 mark. Edited March 22, 2015 by CET23 Quote

AyliffeMakit Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 It also featured some rather unsettling spreads of Jay, Cole, and Kai in their new job outfits, with Cole grinning madly while holding a gleaming axe... That is both incredibly hillarious and heavily traumatizing at the same time. I therefore declare it a masterpiece Quote
PenPlays Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 (edited) I don't get it... It's an anime reference that merits an explanation, something that AyliffeMakit failed to do. Not too many people are into anime, but when it comes to memes, all bets are off. To put it simply, I don't get it either. Anyhoo, Has anyone taken a good look at the retail catalog for this years summer sets? If so, are any of the three remaining Ninjago sets that we haven't seen included? LegendsOfNinjago Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I almost wonder if they'll possibly tie into SoR a bit more. Quote

Actually, it's not even remotely close to an anime reference, and it's a reference to this popular saying. The anime picture on the paper is just sorta there I guess. Back on topic, I haven't seen or heard anything about those sets yet, but I'm guessing they'll possibly tie into SoR? If they do they may make an actual appearance in the game, so we'll probably get some images from there soon... Quote
