Blondie-Wan Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Oh...My...God. I saw these promoted on LEGO's Facebook presence yesterday. Am I correct in thinking these are the very first LEGO toys that actually fly? Quote
DuckBricks Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I saw these promoted on LEGO's Facebook presence yesterday. Am I correct in thinking these are the very first LEGO toys that actually fly? Well, there were Rhotuka spinners from Bionicle that acted in a similar way... Now that I think of it "flying" is as bit arbitrary. The spring loaded missiles "fly," do they not? Hrm... Quote

DuckBricks Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 First time minifigs are flying in a set form. True, to my knowledge. Quote
PenPlays Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Okay, this may just be Google Translate, but the description for the City of Stiix (how I long to correct that double i to a y) set appears to mention "ninja rolls". More magic food? Well... there was some rumor about them needing to find "Ninja Scrolls?" I mean technically scrolls are rolls of paper. Quote
-Zond- Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 The ship is nice! I'm the only one who thinks That Ghost temple looks like Orient Expedition sets? I really like how the roof is done. And some more photos! Quote
Ninja of Fire Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I love the old cannons, and I'm going to guess that the ball launcher is to fire at Airjitzu Flyers. But the thing that I find most interesting is how the small red fighter/speeder. See how everything is all fiery at the back? But near the front, there are water blasters and some blue elements too. I wonder if Nya has anything to do with it... Just thought you guys night want to watch this guy's uploads and stuff. https://instagram.com/brybry_1234/ Quote
DraikNova Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Yeah, that seems like it's Nya's vehicle alright. I really love the look of the temple thing, although I would have preferred some tan detailing on the rock facade, which the blurry pictures seemed to imply. Seriously, why do blurry pictures always give me ideas on how to improve sets? Despite the slight overuse of lime, this set makes me really excited for the D2C, although I hope the D2C will be more substantial. The set has so many features that none of them seems to have any weight to it. The ghost ship (which is definitely a miniature ghostified Destiny's Bounty) is pretty neat, though. I like how they included all that detail, including a small hold, accessible via a barred door. I'm not sure what to think of it, to be honest. The leaked pictures that guy is showing off don't bring much to our attention that we didn't already know, although the extra angles are nice, and the way the Skreemers fit over armor too is pretty cool. I think I can definitely say that I'm skipping the Ronin R.E.X.. The vehicle never interested me, and the dragon isn't all that good a design either. Also, I spotted an error in the picture on the back of Cole's set. They used a grey shooter rather than a black one as the one on the right (from your perspective). And the printing of the ghost shield is beautiful. Quote

Which is not necessarily a bad thing. You sometime have to wonder though... How does this kid get these pictures? Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I'll probably get the Ronin Rex, also I wonder if the sword Kai has in REX is important, because Dark Lloyd also has it in the City of Styx (Stiix?) Quote
DraikNova Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Incidentally, does anyone know why LEGO is so tremendously fond of small, hexagonal prisons that hang off the side of a larger build? Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I've never really noticed how often they do that until you said something...But yeah there are alot. Are these available in the US in August or July? Quote
Ghostwarrior Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 He seems to have gotten the images from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00SDTW350/ref=pd_aw_sbs_k_h_b_cs_4?refRID=088AWW3VRAMWXN10Z78C Quote
PenPlays Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) Final Flight of the Destiny's Bounty. And the Nya nay sayers have been put to rest, if there was any left that is. The ship is nice! I'm the only one who thinks That Ghost temple looks like Orient Expedition sets? I really like how the roof is done. And some more photos! I was getting that vibe too. Taking a better look at the box art, the City of Stiix seems to be extremely relevant to this season. I think this might be the first set I'll grab. It has a little bit of everything. Where'd you get the new images from? Edited May 21, 2015 by Penkid11 Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Final Flight of the Destiny's Bounty. When did this appear? I wasn't able to find it in searches a few days ago, now it turns up But holy moly - £100? Looks like this might be the only set I'll initially buy now. That doesn't follow previous non-licensed set pricings in the UK at all, it really should have been £89.99 like most other Ninjago flagships. But if that price bracket has been reserved for City of Stiix (which I really like the look of - shame it will be a TRU exclusive as they rarely discount), then that would probably explain why Destiny's Bounty is more expensive... Incidentally, does anyone know why LEGO is so tremendously fond of small, hexagonal prisons that hang off the side of a larger build? The cage in City of Stiix isn't heagonal, it's square But yeah, LEGO seems to love small, cramped, dangling prisons a lot now you mention it. It even appears in licensed sets! Quote
DraikNova Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) This is kind of random, but I made a count of all the sword-like pieces in ghost colors in all of the sets known to us so far, and this is what I came up with: 22 of the small Chima spider legs 8 of the large flame pieces that were also introduced in Chima 12 of the elemental sword type pieces 12 of the new saber pieces 9 katanas 5 of the smaller flames introduced by Chima 5 of the weird blades introduced by Ninjago in 2012 (the ones held by their middle and with a serrated smaller edge) 7 of the large, thin blades (as used in the City of Stiix (which my subconscious keeps trying to correct to "sticks") boat) 4 of the larger blade pieces (as used by the Morro Mech) Spinners include four more katanas and one more small flame piece. EDIT: It seems the City of Stiix has a feature which allows you to open up the rock facade beneath it to let Nya's vehicle through. Look just above it and you'll see the gears. Takanuinuva Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Nice to know that Nya is the same one from DB Xpress just with black shoulder armor. One less Nya fig to get. Quote
Ninja of Fire Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) Incidentally, does anyone know why LEGO is so tremendously fond of small, hexagonal prisons that hang off the side of a larger build? Truthfully, this set reminds me of the Chima Crocodile Hideout, with the hanging prison, small outpost that can be detached, and the main building. And here's the Airjitzu Tricks Ad in English. PenPlays Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I saw all of the June sets at my local Lego Store. I talked with one of the employees, and they out of the blue mentioned that the Airjitzu sets come out July 1st. It certainly would be interesting if they showed up before the rest of the wave. Quote

Wait, what do you mean by 'June sets'? This is just a thought, but what if the codes on stickers (on the small wagon-type build) in a few Summer Ninjago sets are for Lego Dimensions?
