Next Monday is 1st June, the scheduled release date of these sets in Europe. There's an extremely high chance that they'll all be out at the LEGO Store by then

I picked up 70734 Sensei Wu Dragon at the LEGO store in Shepherds Bush yesterday. I wasn't really paying attention, but I think they had the other summer releases too. If you go to a LEGO store and you don't see the latest releases you're after, it's worth asking the staff if they have it in the stockroom. I was considering an Elves summer 2015 set. They didn't have it on the shelves but did have it in stock and were willing to sell it to me.

Thanks for the heads-up, even though I won't be able to visit a LEGO Store until June anyway. But good to know my local LEGO Store has them out. Did you happen to see the prices of City of Stiix (because I believe TRU's £100 price is inflated) and Chain Cycle Ambush in there?

Im pretty unpatient, but I found interesting thing.I watched leaked episodes of new ninjago series and every ending have scenery with temple.I think its same temple as seen on some wallpapers aka temple on haunted hill.Maybe this doesnt mean nothing, but this temple looks plausible like real set.

If you ask me, I dont really know why they use some kind of for this time unknown building in ending.

I like the dragon art, much more since I can see the full thing. The teeth on the sides of his head look weird, though.

Airjitzu art rocks.

Just was making some changes to my minifigure checklist for this year and I realized that technically speaking, there seem to be a lot fewer unique minifigures than their names would imply. Other than the four ghost masters (Bansha, Wrayth, Soul Archer, and Ghoultar) there are basically only three ghost minion designs:

  • Hood, red eyebrows, and torso with no sash. All four Ghost Ninja use this design, as does Ghost Warrior Yokai (who also has a sword holder).
  • Straw hat, black balaclava, and torso with no sash. Ghost Warriors Wail and Pitch both use this design. Pitch also has a pannier.
  • Straw hat, red eyebrows, and torso with sash. Ghost Warriors Cyrus, Pyrrhus, Ghurka, and Cowler all use this design. Ghurka also has a quiver. Cowler also has a sword holder in 70736, but not in his other appearances.

Knowing this might make deciding what sets to get easier for some people.

Anyone know where to watch the new season in English? And anyone know how JangBricks got the City of Stiix set so early?

It's not available in English yet, and the sets are currently out in Europe. Jang gets them online for early reviews.

That's odd, the way they try to pass them off as separate characters. Perhaps they just want the army to look larger? That vampiric red-eyebrow head is used on almost every soldier, and am I wrong, or are Ghoultar, Morro, and Bansha are the only ghosts with unique heads?

May I add that Pitch doesn't have his pannier in 70731? Also, the balaclavas are almost definitely Earth Blue, not black

I also took the liberty of isolating the Morro Dragon art seen in the link posted earlier, and here it is! Shame there's something obscuring part of the body.

And, of course, the only part of the show's Morro Dragon that looks like a LEGO piece is the claws! I really wish these shows at least tried to look more LEGO-like. The only parts identifiable as such are the minifigure characters! It does look cool, though. And I really want the set version!

Wrayth and Soul Archer also. It's only the minion characters who share head designs.

What I find more unusual is that Ghoultar (the most common of the five major ghosts) is the only one who lacks a variant with actual legs. Wrayth, Bansha, and Soul Archer all come in both legs and slime variants, but Ghoultar always has a slime trail.

I disagree. I actually really like that the show's design language uses so few obvious LEGO pieces, because I feel like this allows for more creative license with how the non-set creatures, vehicles, and props can be represented in LEGO. If everything looked like actual LEGO, then it would seem like there is a "right way" and a "wrong way" to build them, and if only the things in sets looked like actual LEGO they'd stick out like a sore thumb. But when everything is stylized (even the things that DO exist as sets), that means that there is no official LEGO design for the the creatures, vehicles, and props that don't come as sets, which means they can be built however you choose.

There's also a secondary advantage of stylizing everything, which is that this way it won't be obvious if the sets weren't finalized when the TV episodes were being created.

I think it's odder that the others come with legs! Only Wrayth has a reason for legs, since he needs them to fit in the Airjitzu flyer. But Bansha and Soul Archer don't really need legs in the sets they have them in. Perhaps it takes more effort for the ghosts to manifest legs, and only do so when they want to?

Also, I've been a bit bothered that Bansha is so attractive looking. The other ghosts are quite ghoulish, but if Bansha's face design was transposed onto a yellow head and given pupils, she'd look normal. Even though she is the ghosts' token female, LEGO's perfectly capable of making ugly female villains, so I don't get why Ghoultar is a skeletal ectoplasm, and Bansha gets away with a comparatively normal design.
