It's time for a Santa Fe reboot. I think I'm going to whip up a little something for Ideas.

We need another BNSF or Union Pacific (Both American railway companies)

As I said in a previous post, I have "bricklinked" 2 trams (lego-8404 type) in red and yellow colours. I have motorized them and they work very well on the train tracks. The only little problem is that the small train wheels are very noisy =P Maybe I could lubricate them... I'll have to look into that....

I used a bit of silicone lube on my little wheels. The lube seems to quiet down the noise a bit. Be careful not to use too much as to get on the tracks then it could cause problems for the traction tires on the PF train motors.

If you go to City forum you can find a link to a flickr account with pictures of 60098 heavy haul train

I like the engine, it's going to divide people I guess. It's a rehash of the yellow engine from 7939, which I like. I have a half-finished similar build in red+white to pull 7938 coaches. My kids will love this one. :classic:

One thing my kids definitely aren't going to say is "Oh awesome, another helicopter." Not sarcasm btw. They've had enough of helicopters. They always like another small truck or car, or some interesting building, but helicopters...they have enough of. They do like them, but they get frustrated with the limited play value, because they tend to fall to pieces when swooshed, and all the small ones are pretty much identical.

I think we have 5 or 6 small helicopters, and maybe 3 larger ones, and that's just from the last 5 years of City sets, nor do I buy them every single set in the City range each year, it's a handful per year per child.

The digger looks great, they'll really like that. :classic:

Like 60052, this is probably a two-kids, two-train-sets purchase, Christmas 2015. I know the hows and reasons for why Lego don't offer many train accessories, but really a nice, well-thought out freight station (multi-cargo, with one wagon, a crane and a trailer truck) would be an easy Christmas buy at the £30-£50 price point. Passenger stations are low play value, and as far as I can judge by my kids + internet opinions, passenger station is more of interest to AFOLs.

Hmm, yours 'LegoSjaak' looks very similar indeed........so much for being original Lego.....at least a helicopter and front end loader with rear digger is a new idea.

I wonder what loading machinery, etc., comes with the set.

Though I will say it's not as good as 3677 in my opinion.

Yay, they remembered a ladder for the crane operator to climb up and down on !

But seriously is that the best engine design they could of come up with......it's similar to the 2010 one, so does that mean every five years the same front end reappears ?

Can we get images of the yellow "thing" in the buttom-right corner of the the above Picture please!

I say it's a designers MOC.......it's power function gears are exposed and it appears to be some kind of shunter.

They've gone back to European style from the North American of 60052. I guess to satisfy both sides of the Atlantic. The engine looks like a red diesel version of the yellow freight train. That engine was electric. Dumping hopper car can be fun to play with. . I think it would make a good first train for some lucky kid.

What is the Metronliner-looking subway train in a couple of L@go's pictures? Is it just a mocking MOC or can I dream of a revamp?

That's suppose to be the new tram. I believe it was discussed in this thread a few pages back. It has that old school LEGO monorail look but it is not monorail.

Nikkemann is pointing at the metro-liner colors passing on the raised track to the right.... 16322816077_dd40ae2c6a_z.jpg
