Henrik Ludvigsen Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Agree with Henrik, if we show LEGO that there is more demand for trains, then they are more likely to produce them... Self promotion...My Project - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/102261 Cheers Dylan Totally agree - you have my vote for your project. Henrik
davidmull Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Is it not very strange we've had no news since on 60098. It's out in June is it not and no news on what accesorys or even a box art image! Is this always the case with a train release?
dylanfarrow Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Good point David, it does seem strange. Does LEGO take any notice of 'leaks' (I mean it was never officially unveiled at say the Toy show in NY, it was just at a show) and has decided to modify it a bit based on the negativity around the helicopter? I am however recently back from the dark ages, so maybe this is perfectly normal..
Redimus Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I can't see TLG taking that much notice of a small number of AFOLs on a forum somewhere to be fair, especially on a product that isn't aimed at adult collectors specifically. Anyway, wasn't it expected to be a store exclusive? I'd assume those get less publicity than the available everywhere stuff.
talos Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 The Ferris Wheel set didn't get shown till about 2 weeks before it was released this week, so I guess if they want to, they can keep a lid on a new set.
zephyr1934 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Lego REALLY does not like leaks and they have been cracking down on as many sources as possible. Typically if/when someone posts an unauthorized leak here on EB it gets caught quickly and removed. Of course folks keep talking about it, but the actual photos get pulled down.
dr_spock Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 There are a few LEGO employee members here on EB. Their lips seem to have strong clutch power. June is BrickWorld. They've done set unveiling there in the past.

ecmo47 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Pure speculation, but I wonder if this years Winter Village set will be a train. I know the info released says that the WV set will be a "toy shop" but that could just be a place holder since the toy shop was the name of the first WV set and it seems unlikly that it would be repeated.

I hope not the last winter village train looks awful
dr_spock Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 The last holiday train was nearly ten years ago. There is a new generation who hasn't had one yet. Set designs and designers have changed so chances are it won't be exactly like the past. I agree. Very strong clutch power. Probably made of new MISB bricks I assume? :) I think more like the "I don't want to be fired" bricks. It would be nice if they could drop some hints but I guess not.
v6TransAM Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Blah, give us some real trains. Still hoping for some North American steam
Paperballpark Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I think this year's WV set will indeed be a Toy Shop. After all, to quote dr_spock above; "There is a new generation who hasn't had one yet."
Lego Dino 500 Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I'm with ecmo47 on this one. There's now way that Lego would release a clone set like this. Everything they do is carefully calculated and discussed, and I doubt they would release two toyshops. Maybe it's just a red herring to throw us off the trail But come Christmas, we better have 2 shiny new trains going around the tree. Anyways, is there going to be a new high speed train next year?

legobear Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) I really want them to release a new Holiday Train running PF : ). It would drain all of our pockets and seriously do them good as well :). I forget when rumours come out for winter sets - was this usually around the end of Summer? Edited May 18, 2015 by legobear
peterab Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) I'm with ecmo47 on this one. There's now way that Lego would release a clone set like this. Everything they do is carefully calculated and discussed, and I doubt they would release two toyshops. Just like they never release two police stations or fire engines? But come Christmas, we better have 2 shiny new trains going around the tree. Anyways, is there going to be a new high speed train next year? We will probably see 60098 Heavy Haul Train before Christmas, and perhaps a creator train with a bit of luck, but I'd be surprised if it was another high speed train given the current city train will most likely be available for another couple of years at least. Add that to reports of poor sales for the Horizon Express and another high speed train seems very unlikely. Edited May 18, 2015 by peterab
medib Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 The 2015 summer wave of city sets are out (at least in North America). Where is the train??? Personally, I would have settled for the subway looking train.... maybe for 2016? (pretty please) If we have to have a helicopter train car, let the helicopter at least look semi-coool. If you are going to do a "vehicles" train set, how about doing a true Maintenance-Of-Way train. Ben
dr_spock Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Some Plasser & Theurer MOW equipment would be cool. They sell equipment pretty much on the majority of continents.
toxicbananna Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 seems like set 60097 tram has been motorised by 9v train motor
PastVPresent Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I'm at Legoland Billund now and they are already selling the heavy haul train in the store here - it feels like a pretty substantial set (and it does include the helicopter)

We haven't gotten any box pictures of the set or new information for a long time. Did you take pictures?
