Mehley Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) Specialized Mountain bike Story: As an obsessed cyclist and technic builder, I wanted to create a full suspension bike with real geometry and functions. The original model is the Specialized Safire MTB back from 2009. Parts count: 200 Functions: -front suspension -rear suspension -turning handlebar -moving pedals and gears -stand Desing elements: - valves - authentic colour - disc brakes It contains alltogether 200 pcs (including 36 chain link) You can watch the model in action on youtube: Please note that the video was made last year with 203 pcs. For my entry I have removed 3 pcs which were not needed. Now unfortunately I don't had the time to shoot, cut, edit the 200 pcs video version. These are the additional pcs on the video: - Black technic bush - 2 pcs - Light bluish grey technic bush 1/2 smooth - 1pc You can build the model by watching the . Doc_Brown Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Wow, that is awesome! Looks so good, with realistic functions! I actually thought of doing the same moc but with GT or Giant brand, but no idea how to do it, yours turned out great! Quote
Moz Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 That's very cool! I like the ball as a valve cap :) Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Woah looks smilliar to my Schwinn bike. Awesome work man! Quote
Boulderer Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I thought I recognized the design, when I saw the picture. I built one of these last year from a YouTube video (which I now assume must have been one of yours), that I came across by accident. I loved the build so much, I only broke the model down (reluctantly) a month or so ago. Great work Quote
barman Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Very cool entry. Nice style and the colors just work. Quote
Rockbrick Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 its perfect in every way! its even better than the one you have on Lego cuuso/ideas ! Quote
Mehley Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Hi guys, Thank you so much for the positive words, I am happy that you like it. Unfortunately I have problems with creating the entry topic, it won't let me put the pictures, it says not valid picture extension.... I don't understand, because it worked with this WIP topic. Please note that I'm new to this blog. I have my pictures on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/125764397@N05/ And on postimg.org as well http://postimg.org/my.php?gallery=1z5jovp2 but none of them works, please help, Thank you so much! Bzroom Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 It looks very cool, but being built last year, in my opinion, is a bit of an unfair short cut :( Quote
Mehley Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 It looks very cool, but being built last year, in my opinion, is a bit of an unfair short cut :( I started building bicycles about 4 years ago, I have built about 5-6 prototypes before this one. It looks simple, but still there is a lot of work in it. There is no rule about having the idea from this year or from the last few months. Anyway, I sold the model last year, so I had to build it again and get rid of 3 pcs as well. Like and view numbers on youtube provided me a good feedback, but I am much more happy with the positive feedbacks above from the builders community, than to win the first prize.... Quote
Rockbrick Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 It is a newer version of an existing concept, But It does say in the rules: Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously). Quote
