Dinobrick Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 It was not a Rex, it was a medium sized tyrannosaur. The "feathers" were almost certainly strands of decaying fat, a similar phenomena occurs on beached whales, giving them a fuzzy appearance. (Sorry for shooting you down.) I applod your use of pterosaur, too few people seem to use it. Quote
clonetrooper500 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 i remember the jurrasic park 3 lego set i had , can't wait for this one to add to my collection!!! Quote

Cammo Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I knew it! I knew it the day The Hobbit Videogame was released. It was the only classic movie trilogy that didn't get the Lego treatment. Let's hope that we get at least 1 set of the original movie. Let's hope for a summer 2015 release date. I wonder what Movie franchise is Lego worthy... They'll eventually will give us the Marvel Superheroes 2 in the meantime (maybe they'll follow the movies this time). Quote
SMC Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Here is a tease for the upcoming Jurassic Park video game: http://www.hothbrick...-lego-batman-3/ I hope that T-Rex in the picture isn't the one we are getting! Quote

SMC Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) Same here.I expect new moulds. Nothing wrong with the molds we have and will hopefully mean they wont use as much of the budget up so more bricks. Edited November 10, 2014 by SMC Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I would expect new molds also, although since they JUST came out with a Dinosaur theme, it does seem silly to use up more money on molds again.. Granted, with it being a license, they will cover the costs with higher prices Quote

Cammo Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) There are a couple with sound. Just check the last walkthrough levels on Youtube. commodore_legolas Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Surprised that they'll be doing a game for this! Wonder what the exclusive figure will be? If it's a Jeff Goldblum, I'm buying it instantly! Quote

Amazed they got the rights to use the music for this game. Quote
Robert8 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 So.... that's how the dinos will look like in the game, in the sets and.......... in the movie??? Quote
Sam892 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 So.... that's how the dinos will look like in the game, in the sets and.......... in the movie??? I doubt that's how they will look, it's just a mock up of a T-Rex. They most probably coloured it that way because it matches the Jeep from JP1, just to make the reference more clear. Quote

arc Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Really like the print on the t-rex, I hope it's from a jp1 set. And I'm not sure what that white one is, the rumored d-rex maybe? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Those look impressive. Are they larger than the previous version?? they look so. If that is how they turn out, I will definitely be picking up this series..hopefully the price won't be ridiculous. Quote
SMC Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 The T-Rex is a little disappointing to me as it is almost the same as the dino one, same mold for sure which ok buy the colour is also very close. The D-Rex mold looks great not sure about the colour, if it does change colour lego might have had to pick one and hope they got it right. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 That D-Rex is amazing! I'm for sure going to pick it up. I love the color scheme on him; it's very unique and I could see it looking amazing in snow themed creations. And I have to say I'm also happy that the T-Rex is the old Dino version; I passed on those sets, and I regret doing that now, so it's a great lucky second chance at getting one. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Credit to Just2good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYDN4LuL8AU I must admit, I am disappointed. The Dinos we are receiving are nice, but they are not too dis-similar to those seen in the Dino 2012 line. However, they are nice, and give collectors like myself, who did not collect the 2012 line, a chance to acquire these Dinos. What I want to know, is do you guys think we could see a second wave featuring new moulds? It's a new franchise for LEGO, and surely they'll try to make money from it? Quote

strangely Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I'd say they're too similar, but honestly how much different should they be anyways? At the end of the day they're representing the same basic animal, so color variation is probably about all we could expect to begin with, and with the Lego color palette there are limited options with that anyhow. Plus re-using existing molds has got to be good for cost, hopefully the JW sets won't be as bare as the last Dino theme was. The Raptors are pretty awesome, definitely can't wait to see the sets.
